I have a feeling he's turning dark in order to help shang gu(houchi) go through another big tribulation again. Or it's from his final fight with xuanyi, xuanyi's dark power must've affected Bai Jue in some way. I'm going to need more tissues towards the ending ಥ_ಥ😭

so glad I've been restraining myself from watching trailers in fear of big spoiler. I know i'll die of wanting to know what's going to happen next but it won't be as torturous as knowing what will happen but not get to see the whole thing for 3 days

eps 23-28 are out but these eps are raw and only released on the tencent website((if you scroll up to 'where to watch' section it's the middle source). it was information released by tencent on their 'episode release schedule' poster they are releasing up to ep 30 but it will be a bit delay and those will only be raw eps only so it'll be a torture for those of us who don't know mandarin

I bet Bai Jue didn't really kill Tianqi. he probably did something to TQ's original before it was destroy(like save it). Given how BJ is cold on the outside but warm inside, he won't really kill TQ. But this is just my guess. We'll have to watch on for the answer

don't let the negative reviews stop you from watching this drama or any other drama. after years of watching chinese dramas(xianxia, historical, wuxia), I've learnt that many times negative reviews are very useless and biased. Even positive reviews are biased lol.
Most important you need to remember is that we all have different taste in dramas. Before you watch it, read the summary, try to see if you can find more information about the story from its main source (for example the novel) to help you determine if the story is your type. You need to look at the many themes such as; is it a sacrificing ml/fl type of story? amnesia? lifetimes? betrayal? etc. After you check these things in the story of the drama and think it's your cup of tea then go ahead and watch it.
For me personally, I like to connect little details, look for foreshadowing, and use logical reasons(ex: gods don't physically age so ml and fl looking too young for some thousands years old god shouldn't be weird) to better understand why things are the way they are. Also have to consider the chinese censorship too when watching cdrama because they have an influence on the drama's final cut for airing (what can be shown in the drama and what can't).
I heard they also have a new rule saying dramas can't have more than 49 episodes now(maybe it's just for webdrama, i'll have to do more research about this topic). This will effect how the story flow. The drama might seem rush or choppy because they originally film for more than 50 eps but because of the chinese censorship, they have to cut everything down to only 49 eps.
base on my taste, I actually love this drama and would totally suggest it!

I really think ratings should only be given by anyone who have seen more than half the drama or complete it. someone reviewed and gave it a 4 but guess how many episodes this person have seen? Five, only 5 freaking episodes! It's ridiculous with the reasoning too because it's, Xukai's face don't match being a thousands year old god, fl too naughty, baijue's face have no expression. what do you expect a god to look like? an old man? they're immortal, they don't physically age! Bai Jue is suppose to be a very good looking god hence so many of those goddesses are crazy about him. No one's gonna be crazy and chasing after an old looking god lol
I wouldn't be annoyed at all if their reasonings behind their low ratings are reasonable but no! it's all ridiculous reasons that could be explain if they pay attention to the story and details!

Don't go into this hoping for great romance because if you are then this drama is not for you. Move along. This drama is a straight up comedy with a sprinkle of romance. Yes, you read that right "only a sprinkle of romance", so don't be disappointed and complain about lack of romance if you decide to watch this drama. If you're not looking for something funny (from beginning 'til end)then don't watch it

It's a comedy about the daily life of four (nosy) best friends lol. don't expect great romance or hidden plot. It's legit a light comedy full of modern mix with historical. This drama is one of those you watch when you want a break from serious drama or just want to watch something that makes you laugh
