Tencent finally posted the schedule for weekly release on ALP'S official page on weibo!

anyone who blindly believes the haters and not watch a drama just because these haters said negative things about the drama are just as brainless and probably have low IQ as the haters themselves.

This is why you should never believe ratings on any platform. you gotta see for yourself and compare to other projects to see if it's true or just plain hatings from haters

on the first day of release, they released 8 episodes(for VIP) that's why we end the week with 14 eps
what tencent likes to do is give those who pay vip one week of episodes ahead of those who don't subscribe.
And then they do a vvip where extra episodes are released after the first week of airing(another week worth of episodes). These will be on demand episodes where you gotta pay for each episode to watch in advance but they are raw episodes(atleast for those of us who need eng sub, not sure about other region)
so to make it less confusing this is how it is
vvip are two weeks ahead of regular watcher on wetv
vip are one week ahead of regular watcher

and then if you watch on youtube, you'll be 1-3 days or 1 week behind regular watcher on wetv

However, since tencent didn't post up any schedule of ALP's weekly episode release, I don't know if they're still going to do the vvip for 'Ancient Love Poetry' as well. But they've always done it for all their dramas so maybe it'll be the same for ALP too

i'm not talking about the plot though or how bai jue's character is all that. you were saying the ML can't act so i was simply just telling you that's what his character is suppose to be like. didn't mean to offend you

yeah it's the typical cold,emotionless, etc. type of character and i get some people don't like it or find it boring.
my point i'm trying to get to you is that as this boring character changes, you will get to see the actor's acting skill including his change in facial expressions(if the character did change that much)

that's how his character is suppose to be like. his nickname is 'Ice Cube' for a reason lol. If you didn't know, Ice Cube meant someone who is expressionless and shows no emotions, someone who comes off as a cold person.
This is just the first few episodes. You gotta give it time. His character is just about to learn about other emotions and grow as a characters. Xu Kai being able to keep that facial expression means that he's a good actor, he's able to play his character so well that even you think he really can't express other emotions on his face. If you rewatch from ep1, you'll notice that Shang gu was always making remark about Bai Jue showing only the same expression on his face and her asking him to show other emotions. This proves it's not that Xukai can't act but he's actually really good. He actually nailed his portrayal of Bai Jue, the expressionless True God

Gods are said to look young since they do not physically age like us mortals so when you watch Xianxia(that involves god) never expect a hundred thousand years old god to look like a grandpa lol. Unless that characters is a very minor actor then production team will get anyone to fill the role haha
and since our Fl is so young, having the ML be a young looking god is a good choice so they can shush the criticizer for saying "ml look too old for fl"
