From those who read the novels, they said the book didn't have a happy ending. Looks like the main CP will go through a lot of obstacles and might not end up together. Let's just hope director gives us a happy ending

you know a high budget doesn't mean it won't be a tragedy. I think ObsidianAviary concern is not about if the drama will be a masterpiece but was just wondering if the love story of Main CP will be end up as tragedy or not

Not trying to come off as offensive to you but 'miss the dragon' was low budget, you can't compare it to big budget projects like TMOPB, AOL, ELOD, etc.

Even I'm excited for this drama and feel it has a possibility of being a big hit masterpiece!

it's on netflix now? which country is it available in? I'm in the US and it's not on netflix. I just want to rewatch again on different platform to see the different subtitles and support TLB

*sigh* this won't stop me from watching this drama since the story is interesting to me and I like Xu Kai.
Let's just hope the director deviates from the novel and gives us a happy ending. Or if they don't, atleast I know it won't end well and is prepare for it and won't be disappointed in the end

even though xinxia tends to have sad endings, there's still some hope

Hopefully the rumored air date is true because I'm excited for this drama!

I was gonna watch this drama for Allen Ren but they say it's based on real historical figures so I decided to do some research first. The real history of the two main leads is too sad so I know this drama will definitely have a sad ending. I came here to read spoiler and I was right, it's Sad Ending.
Sorry Allen Ren! I love your acting in UTP but I don't think my heart can stand a sad ending for now. I like Allen Ren but I'll have to pass this drama.
I don't want to go through a whole journey with them to only be left with a disappointing ending.

I never put that into consideration. maybe you're right, maybe the China censorship might have something to do with these "forbidden" relationship to have tragic/sad endings.

I was going to wait until all eps are out first to see if it'll be happy ending or not since I don't like sad endings. But I really want to watch it so I started it while airing even though my gut feeling tells me it will have a sad end for the Main CP.
I'm now caught up with the subbed eps and finished the story watching the raws. This is why i'm feeling sad about how it ended.

But no matter what, I'm still glad I gave this drama a chance. Others may say this drama is trash but for me I can see the beauty of this drama.
If you pay attention to details of the events happening and conversations, this story will totally makes sense to you. You will understand why things are the way they are.
Overall, I enjoyed this drama!

the same day as the last episode's release

so while trying to move on, I decided to watch a xinxia low budget drama by tencent. the ending was very rush but they released a special episode to continue the ending.
So when is tencent releasing a special episode for TLB? This ending was also very rushed. I need the episode 50 that they cut off

ahhh....bittersweet, that's the word I was looking for to explain this feeling I'm feeling about the ending.
Yes, why?why this ending after all the suffering and pain? it's as if all that was for nothing *sigh*

It's clearly because FL's soul is not a normal human soul that can die in anyway. She can only die of natural death.

I'm not talking about xinxia in general, i'm talking about the xinxia that have love story of one partner being demon/immortal and the other human. these tend to have sad endings or atleast the ones i've seen so far(for example Chinese Paladin 1 & 5, Destiny of White Snake)
For me I like both couple so the Main CP not getting a closed happy ending is not good enough for me

so f***ing "heavenly emperor" punish Longyan? for what?! did he not f-ing see what mingge was doing? he deserves to die. Why is tiandi always the dumbest and most annoying character? never seeing the truth of the situation and always deem the innocent guilty!
This is why I refrain from watching these xinxia(demon&human) love story. They tend to have sad ending. (this ending is also a sad ending for me)

I think they never question Mingge and believe what he tells them because he's the god of fate. As the god of fate, he knows a lot and have seen a lot and recorded many many facts. He is like 'google' to them, the search engine that have "all" the answers to your questions haha

Dragon King not asking about the golden armor was because there's nothing suspicious about it. It was a fair exchange. But I gotta agree about QQ not questioning Mingge after XQX being injured from the pipa.

I'm in the same situation as you and I hated HC. It's stopping me from watching this drama even though the story sound interesting to me.

The very behind release of subbed episodes is also what's stopping me from watching (raw is ending this week and subbed eps are only at ep8). I don't feel like waiting every week for new eps anymore. I want to binge-watch or I might lose interest in this drama while waiting for new eps.
I have viki pass but apparently you can only watch advance eps by buying youko membership on ytb ('m not paying for only one drama). I wish viki's release is only one week behind like the tencent dramas I'm watching viki

If you can get past the flaw of this drama, you will enjoy this drama. So far, from the main CP's story to the second CP's story I've always feel like there's a connection to the four of them. And the reincarnations of the FL is not as simple as you think. Someone is pulling string in the dark.

Now I want to cry, it's already been so sad, are they planning on keeping this sadness 'til the end? If they really did that, it'll bring this drama's rating down even more

couldn't agree more! Despite so many people hating on this drama, I quite like this story. People have to take into consideration that this drama was low budget and usually these low budget are made for rookie/nonpopular actors and actresses. I'm also very into this drama. I can see the plot and noticing hint of the evilness that's lurking in the dark.

This is only if you haven't seen 'The Legends' casting Bai Lu & Xu Kai as leads.
I'd say the ML in 'The Legends' is close enough to our A'sun. The ML there cares a lot for the FL. He doesn't try to control what she does and always supporting FL.
