is the lead female character in her early teens? these dubbing as young girls are nails on chalkboard. and the actress doesn't pull it off, and a bit passed it in (actual) age.
the actress playing lingSu is so distracting. her eyes looks like they would pop out at any moment. thought she was a strange sight in her other serial Tracks of Time, which i could not get past the first episode. not good casting for lingSu.
the worse of what i got out of this serial is... that songYi will make me run in the opposite direction. seen her in previous serials, not much of a standout and just ok. her role in "heroic husband" was blah for me. jiangYiYi was the standout.
i'm loss over her "maturity" that some mentioned of in this serial. she just had less screen time after episode 30.
Let me ask you, Who are your favorite cdrama actors honestly?
i don't have any favourites, in which, may has nothing to do w/ high acting skills. a successful play will raise an actor to prominence, but doesn't mean the actor has versatility.... which will becomes evident over his/her career. many will play the same role over and over again
can someone explain to me why zhangRuoYun is an excellent actor? i can agree that he isn't an "idol" actor. he seems bland, though competent, to me, and lacks range.
it is either you're being sarcastic or truly admiring the "emperor's fine clothes"21 is silly-string wuxia. fights…
i can only speak on episode 21, since i skipped from episode 8. 21 was not a battle, but all one on one fights. so how can realtime be confusing? there were no sense of power, nevermind speed. ever night (1) had some great fights in realtime, where there is a good sense of brute force. ballet done by belting opera tenors would be silly, and so is this.
I think we've seen plenty of foreshadowing of XFN having to suffer some incredible losses due to his desire to…
everyone else may have consequences. the ML comes off as a conceited brat. i liked the ML at first, but just went sour.... fast. and cannot muster the inclination to continue the serial. dropped. i'm not interested in a ML that pats himself on the back, and everyone else thinks the sun shine out of his backside.
the two most amusing characters are old huang and jiangNi. they're funny cause they are silly in the peak of their seriousness everyone else is a real bore. all the scheming will be thwarted by ex machina. if fengNian becomes the ultimate martial artist isn't an ex machina i don't know what else would qualify. if there isn't a real dilema and sacrifice, then it is rubbish
Female lead worse than wood. She is like dead rock . No expression in her face. she is worst actress i ever seen…
there are plenty of bad actors in c-dramas, and worse offenders are the popular ones, e.g., dirab, yangMi, yangZi, allenYu, etc. i think new actors doing poorly are still bearable, and won't ruin the drama.... most of the time.
evidently bingZhu is the sole character w/ any competence. and no wonder why he's rogue. the intelligence of all factions are at the same low bar. this is a nose dive on the serial. baiLang the bootlegger has the best rate of success in getting his tasks completed.
lazy passed on as clever

she is a typical rich and bratty and useless character.
seen her in previous serials, not much of a standout and just ok.

not even a bait and switch. just youYue, always.
need a replacement for Master of Privies?
king of Jin: wuYouYue
. . .
king of Jin: wuYouYue
the consolidation of power is too obvious, and weakens the plot/reveal.

emperor fine clothes is for you then.
21 is silly-string wuxia. fights are a laugh a second, in slo-mo. i'm sure the directorial decision saved on stunts and anyone getting injured.
