"miss truth" was weighed down by male rivalry, that made everything else secondary.
this drama, simplify the love interest and concentrate on the intrigue.

the male lead does a perfect fit of dumb as he looks. and when it is called for matured and coming of age, he still looks like a fool. the role required so much finesse and range. bugger.
fangLiang actually has a more gripping tale.

i get it... you think you're special. by all means revel in your cliquish mentality.
you're doing a grand job inclusion to viewers who may like this drama, but just have other priorities from your own.

the second half is assuredly not directed by the first, given there are three directors listed.

this is quite good. the biggest turn off is the incessant ravings on BL from viewers.
story telling is the true merit.
surely there are enough gay porn to satiate fixations on BL. otherwise you're just debasing a good story.

pacing in speech slowed down consdierably... so much pausing and sighing. the "empty" scenes (frames) amounted to at least 15 eps.
no denying that the old king sired the dumbest kids possible. it is hilarious that they think wangLin's son is a silly sod --pot calling the kettle black.

should be retitled to "musical chairs of kings"

second half is a total mess, everyone's IQ dropped down to retards... as well as bloated footage of slo-mo and needless sequence frames.

XaoQi is a male "mary sue," knight in shining amour, and the calvary all rolled up into one.

this is one solid acting cast.
the wangs, bad lot indeed. but one thing brilliant about wangLin is his sarcasm, especially because it is so over the top.

aside from the tussle on the main cheese couple....which leaves the other elephant in the room. why is chuChu so plain, and at worse annoyingly unattractive? is chuChu crossed eyed?
chuChu being useless would not be a novelty in these dramas, but why has this damsel in distress be so much an eyesore. i can throw a rock at the "maid" cast and get a better looker.

what makes zhao acting career so successful is because she has a natural talent. editing isn't stellar, but her acting is (unnaturally) forced.
and the male lead... tried to like him... but he isn't a very good actor, and the lines they give doesn't do him any favours.
