Nah. Arthur Chen is a terrible TERRIBLE actor. It’s actually pissing me off that there has been no improvement…
chen is definitely not a rounded actor. for now, he does a very good bravado, and not much beyond. bad actors with good looks and having a ton of work under their tenure are a plenty. dilraba, yang mi, and yang zi stand top of my list of monumentally bad actors.
reached my threshold --on the number of episodes-- of watching a pouting diva. dropped. quite overhyped. the plot of two high profile people gravitate to each other cause they don't have "true" friendship with anyone.... lonely boohoo rubbish.
i'm pretty sure pairing has more to do with stockholm syndrome than magnetism. i have a problem defining "love" commitment as bullying, illogical possessiveness, and fit of rage. by the same account, wife-beating must also be a sweet thing.
what is up with her hair and girl persona wig? it can stay in tact in any natural disaster, and the occasional scuffle.
i had expected a surge in the male lead once he took ownership of the coveted sword, but no. still insipid. the show continues with the excitement and pace of drying paint. the female lead is the least likable of all the females. chinese dramas could do a break from the two-dimensional, and mostly over-the-top, cutesy brat trope. at times the cutesy borders on Loli and that is cringing. these cutesy leads are always come with "smart" description, yet their actions prove the opposite... over and over again. as pretty as they mostly are, they can't overcome their "willful and dumb" shtick. the 2nd male lead is two dimensional as it gets --predictable and boring. and annoying to boot.
why is "earthy" Haotian not tall nor chubby? i can understand that they didn't "blackface" sangSang, but Haotian is not a thin, average height, pretty girl.
