I thought it was interesting: reality competition turns into murder mystery. There were some horror elements in the beginning, but I didn’t find it scary. And while the plot twist wasn’t necessarily the most brilliant or unique I’ve ever seen, it was still interesting and tied everything together nicely. 8/10.
The tension between yok and unar is off the charts😁😁I wanted them to kiss when they hid from the cops 🙂And…
Agreeeeee I love them so much already even though we haven’t seen them together very much. I really hope they get a lot of screen time and development and don’t turn into the rarely-seen side couple that GMM is known to do lol
The cinematography/lighting in episode 5 part 2 when they’re on the roofs is just *chef’s kiss*. I also really loved the scene where they’re running and Sean looks back at White while White’s doing his little monologue. Bless GMM for giving us this gem 😩
BL + vampires?? 2008 me is living her best life right now 😭 Also is Kim Ji Woong getting typecast as gay/bi vampires? This is his second role like that now 😂
I thought this movie highlighted some important themes and prejudices that many LGBTQ+ families—and especially parents—face but gahhh it was so frustrating at the same time. The biggest negative for me was that Phoon was garbage for like half the film. Seriously, gaslighting and guilt-tripping your 5/6 year old son?? Sending him to stay with literal strangers for a week when he’s begging and crying not to!? I get that he’s insecure and somehow thought he was doing the right thing, and for some god awful reason thought he needed to listen to Rattiya who had no authority to act as she did, that I saw, but doing this to a child you raised since he was a baby is more traumatic to the child than whatever false theories on sale sex parents everyone else had. Thank god Yuke didn’t buy into the heteronormative propaganda, though I wish he’d fought a little harder. I think if Phoon had been more assertive and fought for the rights of his child and family, the message portrayed in this would have been more powerful. As it is, it felt like he just abandoned his son for no good, legitimate reason. Maybe it’s just in part a matter of cultural differences making this difficult for me to understand.
Also, the whole “reunification” with Butr and his birth mother was so inappropriate given Butr’s age and level of comprehension. For a hot minute this story could have turned into kidnapping 101 since the birth mom was still mourning the loss of her other child.
Anyway, great concept, surprising (and for me, questionable) execution. I give it a 7.5 out of 10 mostly for the acting and production value.
