Agree so much!! I love the fluffy romances as much as the next person, but after a while it feels a little same-old-same-old. I wouldn't mind some darker themes to shake things up, and tragedies other than characters dying lol. But it definitely has to be done right and not glossed over like you said; otherwise, it just weakens it. With this and (for example) TharnType, it seems we might start getting dramas with darker themes, but I feel like the market really only wants light and happy (I mean, people get up in arms over an infidelity story arc so I can't imagine the response to something worse) but we'll see!

Oh yes I agree, especially since it would likely be helpful to people in deciding whether they wanted to watch it. Has it been marketed as something lighter? (Genuinely asking— I haven’t really seen anything other than the tags here and a blurb by Lazy subber where she talks about there being a darker version).

Agreeeeee. I don’t mind darker themes but I cannot stand when things like rape get romanticized, and if memory serves from a synopsis I read, I’m pretty sure that’ll be the case here too.

Could not get into Meteor Garden (I think my heart belongs to the Korean version because that's the first one I saw). But by far best bromance goes to Guardian -- my boys were robbed lol

Agree with ya! The more I look back on this drama and compare it to others, the more I just think about how messy it is and how it could have been so much better. I really hope Season 2 is a big improvement.

Unpopular opinion: Earth is reallly milking his victim card, and it is not a good look.

"Let me resign from this nice job where I'm about to get a promotion and you, Stud, stay at this company and think about how you ruined my life." Your choice, but okay.

"No one is waiting for me at home because Sam broke up with me." Bruh, you weren't trying to mend things at all while he was (which you constantly rebuffed). You weren't even trying to open up the channels of communication. You were keeping him around just to make him suffer but expected him to stick around and unsuccessfully plead for forgiveness forever? Oh, okay.

Come on Earth. I get that you're angry and hurt, and that's totally okay and justified! But at some point you have to stop being so sanctimonious and decide whether you're going to move on with your life or stay stagnant and let others control you.

Loving him so much in Prison Playbook. His character is at times hilariously stupid (read: airhead), a bit naive, but at the same time endearingly caring to those around him.

Politely disagree. I don't think he let go of Earth very easily. I think it was a difficult, last resort decision and the actor portrayed that struggle very well. Sam has tried to atone for his transgressions, but Earth isn't budging; he's keeping Sam around but with a grudge and seemingly only for the purpose of continuously making Sam feel bad. In other words, Earth isn't trying to move on, while Sam is. Now I definitely think that Earth has a right to be angry and hurt, but I also think that Sam has a right to end things (or at least go on a break) when his partner isn't willing to either work things out or break it off. They're clearly miserable right now, so I don't think Sam should be forced to stay in the relationship out of guilt or whatever when Earth is constantly rebuffing Sam's offers to amend and, honestly, probably doesn't really know what he wants right now either. Just my thoughts anyway--hopefully that made sense! :)

I haven't seen or heard of the anime/novel, but I'm getting hyped based on everyone else's excitement!! lol I hope it premiers soon and I love that it has 45 episodes!
