If you want to watch rounded characters with realistically painful dialogues you should watch writer Noh's dramas. She knows how to write great characters with proper development and do not just abandon their arcs at some point only to create painful suffering caused through backwards development and plot devices to her characters. She's a great scriptwriter.

Many viewers these days seem to drop the word "realism" on other dramas that apparently destroy character integrity just to fit their motives, but Our Blues is a drama with a true touch of a realism and layered emotions.

I love how poignant this drama was and how simple it is with their flow of conversations especially on the last episode. This feels being hug by a blanket with a hot cocoa in hand during a cold rainy weather.

Really loved first three episodes but after getting to know about the "ending " I am in delimna . Should I continue…
Hi, I loved the drama a lot, but I have particular disappointment with the ending, especially with their use of plot devices such as 9/11 just to illicit the breakup, out of character choices, forceful narrative in the end, etc...so my suggestion is to watch up to the half-time of episode 15.

Hello, I haven't see anyone or any posts regarding such claims, but I think we should be careful on making claims like that to stop antagonizing our fellow kdrama viewers who apparently have different opinions regarding the ending.

I myself is disappointed because of the ending and I have criticisms on it especially with regards to execution, pacing, use of 9/11 narrative as a mere plot-device, out of character choices which emerged in the 9/11 narrative, the forceful narrative usage in the ending, divergence from the main theme as well as the lack of present timeline significance especially with Min Chae, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the hard work of the whole production. Criticism are pretty much normal and should be acknowledged.

Anyway, if ever there are really people who do so, that's really not okay.

Hi, I really want to watch this but I can't take another cruel and traumatic ending because of the other ongoing drama I've watched, so may I ask if the ending of this is fulfilling, cathartic and beautiful? Will it be extremely painful or just sad but still something that I can go back again and again?

I'm really a fan of Kim Hye Ja eversince Dear My Friends and heard many good things about the acting of the leads.

I kept reading that this drama ain't just about romance, so why they used almost the screen time in the end trying to justify the breakup when it could've used it on more pivotal characters, like Minchae. I'm really disappointed. Even in the realism narrative, I cannot buy it at all, because the 9/11 is just shoved on our faces in the last 30 minutes of the episode 15 with an intention alone just to break those two with the most healthiest and deepest bond in the show.

If those two worked out, which I believe can really happen if the creators didn't push through on their initial narrative, they could still bring nostalgia to the viewers by using youth as the "first love".

You know what I'm getting depressed again, but I wholeheartedly agree with you on this, "They get shoehorned into situation that creates conflict just for the breakup to happen, when it could have been used as a catalyst to elevate their characters to newer heights & give them more depth."

The moment he never consulted the NYC correspondent position, I knew it's doomed, but seriously, no one would do that kind of thing. And in the name of realism, no one from Yijin's family reached out to him in 9/11 attack? Impossible. All your second paragraph is what disappointed me a lot with the breakup because it is not executed in an organic way, as what I've read from a writer in tumblr, they all have commas but not a full stop.

You just written all of my disappointments from the ending, like why they were convincing us that the whole episode is about a first love that didn't work out when they could move onto the important things like Minchae. If they were going to do that, they should've just really allowed them to get back together and we could've been unto a fulfilling ending that will close Yijin's arc in a very good way, especially if he'll be able to get a therapy, will have a meaningful conversation with his father that he can't save everyone else and it's okay, and break down to Heedo of his experience in 9/11. And also to Heedo's maturity and growth. Their relationship could've reached new heights that is true from their themes for the rest of the show.

"The end would’ve been more befitting if HD actually had a conversation with MC ( give their mother-daughter bond more depth) at her shop, speaking about the people that shaped her young adult life - Yurim, Coach YM & specifically YJ. The naming of 2521 shop would actually fit & have meaning. But everything is a ghost memory-an illusion because MC doesn’t know who these people are."

I wholeheartedly agree.

I'm so glad to read this comment of yours because all of it are same sentiments as mine. I couldn't believe I trusted the writing a lot, only for all of it be crushed in that 1 1/2 episode.
