Happy to see A Piece of Your Mind here. Honestly, I don't recommend it often because I don't think it's everyone's cup of tea. But if someone likes melodrama, slice-of-life, and slow-burn romance, they'll fall in love I think. It truly is a well-crafted drama with a beautiful story and great acting. Thank you for this post, I'll check Mistress out!
This has to be one of the most important dramas I've ever seen. Casual dating, sex, rumors, pregnancy, abortion, family, depression, feminism, celebrity scandals. All the topics and questions raised and approached were very relevant. I highly recommend this to everyone. On top of that, all four characters are really interesting, and their friendship is very cute. The ending was "rushed", not sure if it was an artistic decision to put the emphasis on the morals and not the individual stories, or if there were problems with filming because of covid or something. I do wish there was another season with these characters just cause I loved them so much and wanted more, but I loved this regardless.
holy shit this is the first time kim soo hyun has acted in a thriller right? i am beyond excited right now.
On a drama yes. There's also his 2017 movie Real. I was actually hoping his next project had similar vibes to that. And I guess The Thieves which here on mdl is listed as thriller, but it's more of an action heist.
For anyone surprised, OCN does multiple seasons of their dramas often. Special Affairs Team TEN, Cheo Yong, and Vampire Prosecutor had two seasons, God's Quiz had 4 and a reboot, and Voice is going on to its fourth season as well. This is getting great ratings, so it makes sense for them to order another season. The drama is good and the actors are great, hope they can make this second season work as well.
SBS aired 10 dramas this past year. Every one of them won at least one award. No other dramas could appear since this award ceremony is for SBS to honor their dramas of 2020.
I was hardcore shipping Kang Han Na and Kim Do Wan's characters in Start-Up from the moment he wrote mean comments about her and she dragged him. Someone who read the webtoon please please spoil me if there's a romance plot between these two!
Really great list here!! Hwang In Yeop caught my eye in WHY and he had a good 2019 and a great 2020 with 18 Again and now True Beauty. He's starting in Annarasumanara in 2021 with Ji Chang Wook. He really came a great way in a short time. Lee Shin Young debuted in 2018 with Playlist's Just One Bite, he recently did Crash Landing on You, How to Buy a Friend, and Awaken. He's excellent, his role in How To Buy a Friend reminded me of when Kim Soo Hyun played Song Sam Dong. Hoping he gets bigger roles in the future.
Once this airs, can someone put it on a comparative scale of HOW scary it actually is? The horror tag is sometimes misleading. I don't watch horror, but the director and cast are just too appealing. I'd really appreciate it!
The relationship and story between the three leads are some of the most beautiful and heartwarming I've ever come across (not just in dramas). The character development was fantastic. Add to that amazing editing and soundtrack, cute meaningful animation, fairytale-like settings and elements, and some borderline magical realism moments... everything was perfect. This drama is so important, the issues raised, and the proper mental health focus. I also loved seeing the stories and development of the patients in the hospital. Every weekend felt a little like Christmas, this has definitely become one of my favorite dramas.
I'm not one to like tragedies, but this was beautiful. The story, the acting, the score, the visuals, the little details. My heart aches for them, but I loved every minute. And they managed that in 3 hours. That's the same as a lot of web dramas out there that barely have a plot or character development. Amazing.
The airing dates were updated, but if Flower of Evil is finishing on the 17th, how is this starting on the 16th? Are they changing the time slots for Wednesday/Thursday after Flower of Evil or are the dates wrong?
