I also didn't quite like the first few episodes, so I dropped it, but I started watching again from episode 15 and am loving it! There are a few references I don't get because I skipped from episode 6 to 15, but nothing that takes away the enjoyment of watching the drama. Maybe try doing the same, if you're up for giving it another chance.
