Watched a couple episode but seems really really slow... does it get better?

2017 version got 8.0
2008 version got 7.7

A lot of old timers will hate on every single remake. Even more will hate on this one because of the speed-run format. I like the majority of remakes, even the shorten movies but I think this would of been a top classic remake if they gave it the proper length.

But that is like 40 years past LOCH. story They would of lived a relatively long life for ancient times.

It was intresting.. but they turned it into 1/3 comedy or parody. It was the first one to actually tell the story of the 4 masters... though don't know if it was just completely made up or not

I kinda like the casting of the main 4 leads better here than 2017. The story is too fast and skipping too much though. Feels kinda empty

This original show was from the 70s and is where those other shows took the tropes from...

HSDS is about 100-150 years in the future. LOCH is rise of Yuan (mongolia) dynasty and HSDS is the end of Yuan dynasty

IMO , the 2008 might be the best version Yang Kang. I think its the most "realistic" version of loch in terms of characters Oyang Ke also got a better treatment, not as just some perv.. It was made when the mainland started to get good film techniques and before heavy handed tv censors. It's on viki for free as well.

she is a ghoulish looking killer on this show that is blinded and crippled. She just shows up a few minutes occasionally on the current 30 episode that is showing now. She will have her own 8 episode series later on that is a prequal

This was better than expected. Of course the story is a bit diffrent and it will miss much of the story, but it was fun to watch. The remake of the 1983 song is also really good, you can find it on youtube

She stole some martial arts manual and was kicked out of the school/hunted by her master. She killed humans to practice that stolen manual which made her evil.

people watch 1 episode, hate it because of various reasons (ie i love the old version better!), rates it 3. I don't think any of the leads are huge idols, so their are not a huge fan base to brigade the score back up.

absolute worthless to rate a series on 1 episode.

How was he partially redeemed? He was a baddie thru out. I heard the 2008 version may have had a redemption part but I havent finished that version.
