This was better than expected. Of course the story is a bit diffrent and it will miss much of the story, but it was fun to watch. The remake of the 1983 song is also really good, you can find it on youtube

She stole some martial arts manual and was kicked out of the school/hunted by her master. She killed humans to practice that stolen manual which made her evil.

people watch 1 episode, hate it because of various reasons (ie i love the old version better!), rates it 3. I don't think any of the leads are huge idols, so their are not a huge fan base to brigade the score back up.

How was he partially redeemed? He was a baddie thru out. I heard the 2008 version may have had a redemption part but I havent finished that version.

yeah, many of those newer shows have endless fluff to fill time. 16ep show gets pushed to 40 episodes. We have the opposite here though lol

I suspect same reason Chinese love cover songs and karaoke... If something is really good, they like newer renditions and to keep it alive. If you look at all the stories created, only a very very very very small amount would be memorable many years later. Some of the main JY stories are those. Prob majority of martial arts, wuxia cdramas etc has been influrnce by his works. I;ve watch the majority of the trilogy remakes and i still look forward to them.

It was similar or shorter than 2017. Started out with parents village arc, adult, mongolia, met HR by ep 3 i think. They might show it later as flaskback or in the prequel series. Ariel Lin was 2008.
