I suspect same reason Chinese love cover songs and karaoke... If something is really good, they like newer renditions and to keep it alive. If you look at all the stories created, only a very very very very small amount would be memorable many years later. Some of the main JY stories are those. Prob majority of martial arts, wuxia cdramas etc has been influrnce by his works. I;ve watch the majority of the trilogy remakes and i still look forward to them.

I think its the best casting for this adaptation.
It was similar or shorter than 2017. Started out with parents village arc, adult, mongolia, met HR by ep 3 i think. They might show it later as flaskback or in the prequel series. Ariel Lin was 2008. Oddly, the trailers and screen color makes the impression that the show is a bit darker but weibo also release comedic speed up previews of scenes as well. Hard to tell the quality of the performance. The trailer preivews makes it looks good while the comedy teasers makes it very poor

I don't know, the news release long time ago said Tencent has the rights and will be release remakes to the popular JY stories. The LOCH/ROCH/HSDS is a sure thing.
