Dear Yeo Jin Goo-In 2 years, since the pandemic, I have watched about 500 dramas. Never in those past 2 years…
Hey, sis! I'm just wondering... Would you be interested to include your comment above to some of the messages that our group will be sending to JinGoo for his birthday? ππππ
It's totally fine if you don't feel comfortable about it, though.. No pressure! πβΊοΈ
kinda terrible ending ngl, they didnt explain how the daughter or the father died, or why they were kidnapping…
I don't think the killer only killed little girls..
Also, I believe it wasn't necessary to show how Gyeyoung & dad were killed..that would be crossing the line. I wouldn't want to see it, ngl. It's enough that it was implied.
Killers may have their reasons in killing people but no matter how and why they kill a person.. We know for sure we will find it unreasonable and unjustifiable. Writer chose to leave it to the viewers about the how & why.. Coz even if she would've shown or explained it, there will absolutely be nothing new to see. Viewers may have already seen the most gruesome kind of killing with the most ridiculous reasons.. Why should this be any different? Besides, the murder isn't actually the focus and it's definitely not necessary nor relevant to the story's main plot(it created the conflict but it isn't THE conflict) plus this isn't an investigatory drama or something like it. So, go ahead.. Take your pick, have your imagination create the killer's how & why.. π
2) he explained that he was just too tired. Also, he needed to fix an issue at work. So honestly, I think he was…
Wait.. I think you're referring to the truck driver when he denied lil Gyeyoung help? Coz he wasn't the killer.. I was talking about the killer, the fish vendor guy.. 2. You were correct, when dad stated he was into something, we can all assume that he found some bits and pieces that lead to the killer.. But the killer probably caught up with it and made his move ahead of dad.. Writer later reveals dad's belongings were found, giving us more hints that dad may actually be dead.. Then killer met jinguen at the alley and asked GyeHoon about his dad..meaning he probably already killed him or has been keeping him..
π₯Ίπ everyone got their happy ending nd my ship sailed π₯ΊπBut!1. the old man shouldve been haunted by…
Yes ships have sailed... πππ 1. I agree.. 2. There are so many unreasonable killings happening irl and since this is a fantasy drama.. I think writer has given us the autonomy to make up our own kind of killer. Afterall, no matter how unique the killings and crimes are, we could always count on how sick the reasons they have. Here, it wasn't needed, his back story probably has nothing to do with the essence of the story. The writer felt it wasn't important to show what was unnecessary or ultimately has nothing new to show. It'll be like any other killings and the killer would be like any other murderers. So I guess, that would give you your imagination to play around and make up for it. Personally, I don't want my version of killer to be a pedo (given he wasn't just killing little girls).. 3. Showing how he might've killed Gyeyoung or other girls or the dad, would I think be crossing the line. I don't want to see it and I don't want to hear it. It was enough that he admitted that he hurt her. Everything else is unnecessary, imo.
The killer CAN BE a psycho.. not that he was reduced to being one. I think the writer intended not to give his…
Yes, got that loud and clear π But unfortunately, I do not have any other explanations to offer π other than maybe how GyeHoon tried to explain it in episode1... You know WiFi connection.. Telepathy and all that.. π€
I guess writer wanted to be vague about its origin and how it could be passed on.. In this case it was thru a sincere promise made by two very honest and blameless hearts of children wanting to stay true with the promise they made..
Don't worry, as soon as I read about a viable explanation... I'll get back to you.. πππ I promise... πππ
I could give an explanation to each of your questions.. But then where is the fun in that? Some of you guys are…
They actually did.. At least what we needed to know.. People might find it even more draggy and irrelevant if they do another round of dad's adventures trying to find his daughter and the killer. I think the show gave us the most relevant & important parts.. Like how both parents became desperate finding Gyeyoung, how dad ultimately abandoned his wife & son coz of guilt, regrets & (unfortunately) negligence as a parent (to Ggeyough & GyeHoon alike).
Then we were given hints enough for viewers to assume that he might have been following someone.. Probably the killer or a clue where she could've been 'kept'.. Soon after, we were made to assume that dad got killed or the killer might be keeping him when GyeHoon was given his dad's belongings particularly his wallet. Then writer drops more hints when Jinguen met with the killer and asks Gyehoon about how his dad is.. Writer didn't insinuate (right away) that dad is dead or killed.. Just to keep a little hope that he may still be alive. Which I think has nothing to do with the conflict at this point. I still believe there weren't any need for us to see more.. What the writer showed was what she felt was necessary to create and justify the loneliness and desperation of GyeHoon. And the bus station scene told us a lot.. told us enough.
The killer CAN BE a psycho.. not that he was reduced to being one. I think the writer intended not to give his…
What I actually appreciate with how the story was done is that it gave the audience the liberty to 'make' our own version of what has been totally left for that purpose. Yes, killers (all of them perhaps) has a story to tell and most of them have almost the same patterns or beginnings or unfortunate experiences themselves.. But the writer gave us the privilege to 'imagine' our own version of a killer. I'm sure we'll find something there but what we might find have nothing to do with our story. We were given bits and pieces of how he was brought to Jihwadong and who brought him there.. We were given details of the things that might be related to the story. The writer didn't want to dwell on things that are obvious and ultimately, are nothing new. As for the link, this is a fantasy drama.. And things like these doesn't actually require any scientific explanations or mathematical equations to back it up. Like how we were made to believe that superheroes can save the earth.. There aren't any exact values and reasons or instructions how the 'link' works. The writer didn't give us facts it gave us a story of how it happened in the lives of three people who experienced the connection. And I personally buy it.. Gyeyoung felt how sorry GyeHoon was when she felt his emotions.. She already knew how he'd punish himself for what will happen to her and she desperately wants to save her brother from total destruction.. She loves him so much and she understood perfectly how he feels because she was feeling it too. And what better way to let DaHyun understand Gyehoon's loneliness? by letting her feel it too.
GyeHoon first needed to feel DaHyun's emotions the way he did his sister.. To lead him back. It was also mentioned how the connection was 'destiny' a number of times. Plus, it also drove GyeHoon to start being conscious with his feelings again. He has learned to push people away, preventing himself from loving and being loved ever again. The link made him feel concerned again.. Worried.. And ultimately it reminded him how it feels to like.. then love again.
It's actually a very beautiful connection, it's like teaching a mute person to speak again by lending your voice. It opened Gyehoon's heart through someone else's emotions..he knew when she was lying and then he also realized how he has been constantly lying too... Not just to his mom but to himself. I get your point how you needed an explanation for each of this. But maybe it was left loose coz we are left to tie them however we'd want it tied. It's a fantasy, where logic is typically abandoned. π
I gave it a 10/108 for the entire drama..+2 solely for YeoJinGoo's acting π
Yes, they are very very good.. Start with The Crowned Clown if you're into sageuk or historical dramas.. (actually, even if you're not into it.. You'll be pleasantly surprised..) Circle is a scifi drama, will keep you guessing.
Oh, and there's Beyond Evil.. A physiological thriller.. If you're in for an amazing mind-thrill.. (yes, I'm into YeoJinGoo dramas) π€
It is the most satisfying and fulfilling ending I've ever watched... Its the kind of drama where you'd let out a big *sigh*and then smile from ear to ear.. π It'll also give you heartfluttering moments form so many couples.. π€π€π€ And Gaehoon!! So adorable β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
Male lead's dad's body . He was also killed as he was searching for daughter. He must have got the clue about…
I thought that was quite obvious when killer met jinguen at the alley and asked GyeHoon how his dad was.. He was dropping hints that he got to him already. And I don't think we needed to see how he killed dad..
It's totally fine if you don't feel comfortable about it, though.. No pressure! πβΊοΈ
