I knew I should have spent more time in Italy!!! French guys are always unclipped unfortunately ... Anyway, thanks for talking about the EM Forster novel, I haven't read his books in years and I have actually never read Maurice (a real shame for a fan of BL and English literature)

I apologize for interrupting your conversation with random pieces of information but circumcision is common in the US but extremely rare for Caucasian men in Europe so that would have been actually really surprising for Rupert Graves to be circumcised. And now off I go watch the uncut version of Maurice I didn't know existed!
A BL dry spell??? I guess you only watch Thai ones because there were some great BLs these days. You're clearly…
If you don't mind less comedic shows Where your eyes linger and Life senjou no bokura are a very compelling watch. Of course, the Pinoy BLs Gameboys and Hello Stranger are a must see for any BL fan (even if they're not completed yet). I won't mention My Engineer because I'm sure you've watched it already. If you've seen all of these shows and disliked them, no problem, it just means we have very different tastes.
For the moment, this series is just meh (a big fat BOF in my language) It's not bad of course but I feel like they failed at creating proper characters. After one episode, it seems like a cliché wattpad plot (the whole falling in love during a school assignment) with cut out figures instead of real people. The actors are not perfect of course but I don't think it's their fault if this first episode didn't work for me. The cinematography looks off (the dull colour scheme makes it look like an old Derrick episode) and it seems like the director can't choose a type of narration. Why do a romance through computer/phone screen then add "regular"camera shots that bring nothing to the storytelling? There is nothing wrong with having similarities with Gameboys and I was ready to enjoy this show as much as the other but what disappoints me the most is that HS apparently has a bigger budget and they don't have the same lockdown issue as GBoys so they really could have done better.
I was loving this until they threw in the girl in the middle trope. What a fucking tiresome piece of shit plot…
I usually hate those tired jealousy arcs but here I was so invested in the story that I actually felt as emotional as Cairo when the girl appeared on screen. Of course he's jumping to conclusions because he's feeling very vulnerable at that point and besides he doesn't really know Gav for the moment.
MDL's hottest club is: Gaaaameboyyyysss!! By the way, thanks for mentioning the show on another page because I would probably never have found it otherwise.
Okay, so after ep 1 I developed a crush on this show but now I've just seen ep 2 and I'm officially in love with it! As most of you here I guess, I started watching this show with absolutely no expectations, thinking I would end up with the usual condescending comment:It's not that bad for a small budget web drama, let's give them some encouragement blah blah blah... How wrong I was! This show has everything (I feel like Stefon for a second) : good actors with amazing chemistry, a script that manages to feel both classic and fresh, and of course an impeccable integration of social media in their storytelling. If you haven't started the show yet, run to YT and get ready to fall in love...
If I'm not mistaken Line TV doesn't work for international viewers but the links you can find here (kindly provided by MDL users) are made especially for people outside Thailand.
Line TV has English subs (most of us wouldn't use their links otherwise) I feel like I'm doing PR for Line TV at this point lol but it's really not worth using kissasian for shows that provide subtitles on their official links.
Maybe you should try a few times or on a different device because those links are the official ones for international viewers, I haven't seen anybody that wasn't able to use them. Have you watched other thai shows on Line TV because it's surprising you can't see those:Line TV links work great and I'm always thankful to the MDL commenters who post them here.
I'm sorry but I don't think you're in the right place for this message. You can't accuse the people who comment…
I guess we have a different opinion on what a critic should be. I think you can be negative about something you didn't enjoy, it's not about giving feedback to the cast and crew because once again, they are not here with us. I'm obviously not talking about the crazy people who attack the director or the actors on Twitter because they are the ones who are really problematic.
I'm sorry but I don't think you're in the right place for this message. You can't accuse the people who comment…
I just think that the term of witch hunt has nothing to do with what's happening here that's all. Most people here are not "fans" of any show (it baffles me that anybody could call themselves that by the way) just spectators who have an opinion.
OK, OK, people, I agree the two last episodes were not stellar and I am quite disappointed too. I was also really…
I'm sorry but I don't think you're in the right place for this message. You can't accuse the people who comment on MDL of bullying because they're not addressing the cast and crew directly (we're not on Twitter here) and I didn't even see any "attack" concerning them. What I've read are people who are expressing their disappointment ( with a great sense of humor I should say) but certainly not toxicity.
Yeah exactly. I also don't understand this closed-mindedness. I think so many drama can learn from this one, and…
I can't argue with that, it's actually the reason why I finally started LM:how shallow of me... Since I'm being shallow, I still wonder whether I would have finished Tossara if Gun had been played by a different actor. It's not only a question of appearance (and bad acting) , he just seemed totally creepy to me: the kind of blind date from hell you want to escape from right after hello. The funny thing is that Bar looked as disgusted with him as me and the poor thing even had to kiss him. Bleurgh... Rip Bar's lips

My Engineer is definitely the good surprise that we didn't expect. For the moment, I really find it sweet and charming and they actually manage to handle the "multiple couples" aspect quite well. It sure has its fair share of WTF moments but they're easy to forgive because the show never takes itself too seriously (I never thought I would ever laugh at comedy moments in a Thai BL by the way) The only "black sheep" for me for the moment is "En of love":I dropped Tossara and I forced myself to start Love Mechanics but I still can't get into it (even with the toned down storyline)
Yeah exactly. I also don't understand this closed-mindedness. I think so many drama can learn from this one, and…
Yes, "His" is a spot on example of that. I'm sure it had some flaws but I lost all form of critical thinking when I watched it and enjoyed every second of it. The final hug was absolutely perfect and I certainly didn't want more than that. It's sad that some people seem to mistake the MDL comment section for a fan page of their favorite show where they can bash the "rival" shows and are ready to attack anybody who dares say anything else beyond "best episode ever!!!!!!" You're right: WHYRU and 2gether are both" perfectly imperfect"and that's why so many people enjoy them. No need for crazy fangirls on these discussions!

Totally right about that kiss lol: I don't think I've ever seen French kissing of that intensity even in French shows! As for the whole question of intimacy, I really wonder why these people are complaining: is it about their culture, lack of experience or some sort of homophobia as another poster mentioned? The whole "if you're thirsty go watch some porn" is so silly everytime I read it. I've watched romances where the characters don't even kiss and still found them incredibly romantic. If directors or actors don't want to film "couple moments" then don't make them a couple in the middle of the show: that's what "slow burn" is all about (Sotus being a great example of that) And if some spectators are uncomfortable watching those scenes then sorry for you but that's what people in love tend to do...
They did, this is a pg13 show. Just like the other from the same company with this target audience, they don't…
Well of course it's not an explicit sex scene but you do have two naked men kissing in bed which is enough to clearly imply that something is happening... It's quite different from two fully clothed guys who wake up next to each other with *gasp*their knees touching! The way they act screams bromance or chummy roomies but definitely not honeymoon phase couple.

I just went back to watch the scene in DBK and it's actually pretty intimate (for a PG 13) : you have no doubt about what's going on and they do share several kisses. That's why 2gether could have handled things a little bit better.
