I wasn’t impressed with Dilabra in Eternal Love but now I know it was the character and not her. After the Long…
I have watched The King's Woman, Eternal Love, Love Designer and Pretty Li Hui Zhen, and I just don't like her acting in these dramas. For me, she doesn't seem to be bringing her best to these characters, and they ended up being flat and one dimensional. Off course, many find her to be beautiful and gorgeous, but when I am watching dramas, I like to see the acting over the visual. These are only my opinions, so no haters please.... LOL... :))
I will always remember Winter Sonata. I first heard about K-dramas in 2003 from one of my friends because she was watching Winter Sonata at that time. This drama name got stuck in my mind. I used to make fun of her obsessions in watching this Winter Sonata because I found it amusing that she would run home immediately after work just to continue watching the episodes of Winter Sonata. Those days there were only DVDs and no online streaming websites like Viki or Netflix to watch Korean Dramas (not that I was aware of). So apparently she was sharing the DVDs from someone, and she would gush about this drama so much. Anyways, it is ironic for me now, after many years, it was only in early 2018 that I started to get hook on Korean dramas with my first K-drama "Oh My Ghostess". And there's no turning back now.... hahaha...
I waited at least 6 months after the first 3 episodes to finally pick this up again and I’m so glad I did, this…
I actually dropped this drama after 4 episodes, because I got frustrated that the FL ran away from the ML without telling him anything. That was mean of her. Perhaps at the time I was watching this drama, I was not in the mood for this type of "stupid drama" (hahaha....). Anyways, perhaps I will pick it up again in the near future because I really like Ha Ji Won (she's my favorite actress).
I will not watch this drama even though there's a lot of hype about it. Personally I never liked Dilraba; I am not impressed with her acting, this is my own opinion. I am currently watching Song of Youth, starring Bai Lu, and to me, she is a great actress and so natural and beautiful.
@Lushhh - Did some fan scolded Yang Zi for joining the cast of this drama? why? she is already famous anyway.
Yang Zi doesn't have a good figure? Seriously? I think she has a good figure, being tall and slim. What kind of beauty standard does C-Ent have? I mean, once she is dressed up in those voluptuous costumes, nobody can see her figure any more...SMH...
Is D-addicts only for the english subs? where can I find the drama itself with english subtitles? if there is none, then where can I find the drama so that I can download the episodes and then link the english subs later? Thanks for your help
I read somewhere yesterday that they will re-cast and re-film the male parts…but not official though…
I guess they have to make a thorough cost analysis to see if it is worth doing it. Now that's water under the bridge, but I wonder why they cast Kris Wu as the ML in this huge C-drama because he doesn't have much experience acting in drama series. Is it because he is an idol and socially popular?
It is a great pity this C-drama will not air anymore, unless the production company re-cast Kris Wu with another actor and re-filmed all the scenes of him - - just like the way the Korean drama "River Where the Moon Rises" where Kim Ji-Soo (due to bullying & sex scandal) was replaced with Na In-Woo, and the K-drama was much better after that. Off course, the difference here is that the Golden Hairpin has finished filming and was ready to air, etc., and it will cost a lot of money & effort to re-cast and re-film, but thinking of the amount of time & resources investments that goes into making this C-drama, it will be such a great waste to just abandon it. I hope the production company will make the right decision.
You are right. I also found it strange that she knew where to deliver the ransom money and where did she get the…
I think the emperor is annoyed at the FL for tricking him, and being a self-entitled emperor, he will probably bear a grudge towards her. That's because he was really interested in her when he saw her painting during the concubine selection. Hopefully he will not make any troubles for her in the future.
I like this drama but some scenes are off for example in one episode the third brother has gambling debt but she…
You are right. I also found it strange that she knew where to deliver the ransom money and where did she get the soldiers? At first I thought it was the 2nd brother returning to fight with his soldiers. But then, after the ML was rescued, no mention was made about all these incidents; the writers made the FL to be some kind of special lady with special connections to the underworld and military....LOL.... let's see if we get to see some flashbacks to explain all these weird scenes....
I really love this drama now. I have watched until episode 12, and I am astounded by the good production and directing, script writing & witty dialogues, great acting and beautiful exquisite costumes. All the actors and actresses did their part really well, no over-acting and lots of funny & sweet moments. Finally, I found a new historical/period drama to replace The Sword and Brocade drama (which was also great and I liked so much). At first, I did not like the actor playing the ML because he looked quite young paired with the FL, who looked slightly older than him. But after watching up to 3 episodes, I began to like him and I find him suitable in this role. He is playing the role of the spoilt and youngest son of a prominent wealthy family. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and his life is really easy. Perhaps that's why he looks young and immature. Also because this is his first time in love, he is enthusiastic, overly expressive and unrestrained in his love and adoration towards the FL … While the FL had a tough and difficult life growing up, losing her family suddenly and at a young age, had traumatic experience of seeing her mother's suicide, and then working hard in odd jobs just to survive; also perhaps she can't afford good skin care too....hahaha. Because of all these, she looks mature for her age. This is how I rationalize the pairing of the main couple in order to keep watching the show.... LOL.... In fact in real life, the ML is 1 year older than the FL. And I believe they have good and comfortable on-screen chemistry (although not fireworks) since they have worked together before in Arsenal Military Academy drama.
I loved the Day of Becoming You. I have watched Moonlight, and I find it to be Okay. I am waiting for Forever and Ever because they have my favourite actors. Since I don't like Dilraba, I will skip You Are My Glory. As for the rest, I will take a look to see if they suit my taste... LOL...
Seems that if an Asian actor acts in Hollywood, they have succeeded.... you are right, Hollywood is so-so nowadays. That's why I watch Korean, Chinese and Japanese movies & drama nowadays. I heard even Turkish dramas are getting better
