I am here just because of Allen Ren. I loved him in Under the Power, and he was adorable there. Looking forward to watch this drama, and see what he can show me. :))))
I dropped this drama by episode 24. In the beginning, it was good and cute. And then, along the way, I felt that the plot got lost, and I was getting frustrated with the push-pull romance between the ML & FL. I like Lawrence Wong when he was in Story of YangXi Palace, and he acted so well there as the palace guard next to Xu Kai's character. Hence, I watched this Girlfriend drama just to see him act in modern world setting. To be honest, I was very disappointed with his acting here; perhaps it's the scriptwriter's or the director's fault, but I felt he could have done much better. Here, he looked wooden, then bewildered, like a lost puppy, even constipated (hahaha). I admit he looks very handsome and adorable, but it is not enough to carry the drama through. These are all my personal opinion. Hence, I decided to drop this Girlfriend drama mid-way. It is a pity because the female lead actress Xu Hao did well here. I hope to see her in other dramas in the future.
if you are willing to pay for vip, you can watch it on the mango tv app. The clips I can watch (I don’t have…
I downloaded Mango TV (MGTV) app on my tablet and also paid 1 month subscription for the VIP - just to watch a few dramas from them, and I have to say that the English subs produced by MGTV are not great - the grammars were not corrected and some translations were confusing. However, if you can put up with these and overall understand the meaning of the translations, I think it is not worth paying for the VIP part of the app.
So I start this and not even 5 minutes in and AGAIN a brain dead female lead. Second new drama to make me angry…
You got me at the "brain dead female lead"; I agree with you. I just hate it when writers make female leads into bitchy-screaming divas = strong and independent women. Perhaps they ran out of ideas.... hahahaha.... Anyway, I have been watching several Chinese dramas during the last few months during the Covid-19 shutdown, and I've decided that I prefer the smart and sassy female lead (e.g. Chen Qian-Qian in Romance of Tiger and Rose; Yuan Jin-Xia in Under the Power, or ChangLe in Fake Princess). X-D
Waiting for proper English subs every week is really slowly killing me...LOL. Even though I have the MGTV app on my device, the English subs there are just badly translated. I have to correct the bad grammar in my head or even got confused at times as I watch the drama....hahaha....
Am at ep 10 - when the taoist priest comes in, is that not the Chinese version of voodoo. Am not judging, as an…
You should know that most Chinese is really superstitious and believes in these stuffs. That's why there are fortune tellers around, and they also believes in Feng Shui. I guess every society has its own superstitious beliefs.
I know that this is a romantic-comedy drama only, but the way the Boss is currently treating his secretary - i.e. speaking and sitting too close to her, looking at her body discretely, making her to accidentally sit on his lap and then holding her tight, holding her several times - everything screams of sexual harassment. I find his actions to be cringey and creepy. No wonder his secretary want to quit from her job.... LOL
I agree with you! Nothing similar, just that before she arrives to that world, she was mean and now she isn’t,…
I agree with you. I tried my best to watch this silly drama To Get Her for a few more episodes but in the end, I just wanna throw up, punch the FL who is a bitch and dumb as an Ass (the donkey animal) and drop this stupid drama. I am NOW offended that someone could compare this stupid drama with the fantastic super-Rom-Com of The Romance of Tiger and Rose (which is 100 X better in terms of writing, directing, production and acting ---- PLEASE !!).. THEREFORE, I have decided to drop this stupid To Get Her drama.. :{P
ep 9: I was wondering why I didn't like it as much as other dramas, despite this being totally in my lane and…
As for me, I liked that the Crown Prince (ML) falls for Chang-Le (FL) really quickly. Since they are such a cute and sweet couple, I get to see their lovey-dovey moments earlier in the show, compared to other similar costume period Rom-Com dramas out there. I just want to enjoy their loving interactions more often... Hehehe.... :D
I really like this drama, tho I wish they would focus more on the main leads or Nong Ying&Gong Sun Mo instead…
I agree. I find the romance of 2nd lead couple (Li-Heng and Zhu-Yan) to be quite boring and yawn-worthy that I always fast forwarded their scenes together. I don't even care what happened to them, their onscreen chemistry is low, and I actually wished that they eloped successfully and we say BYE BYE to them. LOL.... As for the 3rd lead couple (Gong Sun-Mo and Nong-Ying), they are so lovely together and I like the way Nong-Ying tries to take care of Sun-Mo, even though he refused her. I have watched up to episode 17 and so far, I am liking this drama.
The last 2 episodes ruined this drama! I'm so mad that I feel like I wasted my time. And I'm a huge Jang Hyuk…
I actually did not watch the final 2 episodes because by episodes 13-14, I know the story-line will get stupid when the female team leader started to go "crazy".... I was rooting for her in the earlier episodes but when she started to interfere in the investigations out of her own interest, I started to lose interest in the drama. It is a great pity because Jang Hyuk was great here.
I am also watching them both at the same time but didn't even realise it was the same girl until you pointed it…
In Fake Princess, her visuals are kind of weirdly cute with big round eyes and chubby cheeks, really different than many pixie-like baby-faced young actresses that play costume period dramas nowadays. Plus, she acts really well - That's why I liked her in Face Princess. After watching this drama My Love, Enlighten Me, I find that she looks really different in modern looks - almost hardly recognisable from her Fake Princess look. She also acted really well in this modern drama. I will start watching her other dramas from now on.
I actually liked Cubic, but I agree Bomb's acting needs some improvement. Hehehe...
I was planning to watch Khun Chai Rachanon when I finish my currently watched list of dramas. I liked Bomb since I saw him in Cubic, perhaps I liked his visuals more than his acting....hahaha. But honestly I like Cubic drama because of the story-telling. I hope that in the future, it will be re-made with better budget and production. :D
I finally finished watching the last episode/15, and I have to say it was fast paced and full of ups and downs moments. Even though it has a great ending, I kept thinking the whole time while watching the episode that the editing and transition of different scenes are not smooth, compared to their previous episodes. Somehow I felt the final episode has many important events and it was rushed to cramp everything into the final episode. I was even slightly confused at times; for example: (1) When Thien returned to Myanmar to pray for Muey - the scene was so sudden/abrupt - from his 3 friends talking about Thien going to a temple, and then Thien was running along a temple building - I said Huh? when did he fly there?; (2) When Thien decided to give his one of kidneys to Muey, we see him from arguing with Muey, and then telling his brother about his decision (what decision?), then he is at the hospital being wheeled into the operation room and Muey is lying next to him there. And they almost died because I see nurses sitting on their bodies doing CPR. Huh?? what really happened? no reveals from the drama.; (3) After the kidney transplant, Muey woke up to Thien's long recorded message on her phone - he told her that he has always loved her since school time because she made his heart beat faster the moment he saw her; he was also happy that he was her mentor. I said Huh?? when did all these happen? Didn't he always find her annoying and only considered her as a sister? Did he forget he has told her numerous times that he didn't love her? What kind of new insight revelation is this? Scratching my head for few minutes. Here a few annoying events in the drama for me; (1) The unnecessary side story of Kang and KaoFang's love story - it's unbelievable that KaoFang (the bitch of the company) would quit her accounting job just because Kang is ignoring her since returning from Myanmar (what a lame reason to quit a job) - and later, Kang and KaoFang became a couple after love confession. I said Huh? I thought KaoFang was straight because she was always pursuing Thien in the past. When did she become gay/lesbian? Huh?? ; (2) Under-development of Kob's character - he was supposed to be Thien's rival for Muey's affection but in the end, he ended looking like a wimp and a loser - I feel bad for him; even Thien wanted to beat him up when Kob turned up for Muey's wedding...LOL; (3) Found out that P'Ched is a secret cross-dresser/drag queen - is this information necessary for this drama? He is supposed to be a high-ranking officer in the company and now I cannot un-see this scene...LOL Anyway, overall, I enjoyed this Thai lakorn very much and kudos to all the actors, director, writers and whole filming crew for making this wonderful drama. Best of all, I love the background scenes of the Bagan temple complex in Myanmar, complete with sunset and hot-air balloons; this make me want to visit Myanmar now. :D
