When he had the dads pose kinda holding each other it legit looked like two gay couples and a daughter. Also when Fu Li Gong's dad started with the "When I first met him..." while trying to convince Fu Li Gong to go for it, it sounded like he was trying to say that the two of them were star crossed lovers who didn't make it and he regrets it like their bromance was REAL

For me it was the side couple awkwardly just kinda falling together. They went from 0 to 100 real fast and like Yuki rarely had any actual emotions on his face, he just kind of looked generally content at any given moment

Ok yall convinced me, I'll watch it. But you're right, a lot of it is that they worked so hard for that couple image. Thats the issue with BL is that they don't just try to appear as a couple in the show, they tend to do a lot of fan service and tease their chemistry off screen as well which makes it harder then to separate the two as much. They're both good actors though and I'm hoping that y'all are right about the FL actually having good chemistry with everyone for once lol

How distracting is it that two of the leads are a well known BL genre couple? I want to watch it but I feel like it would be like watching Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens in a movie in 2010 where they're playing siblings. Idk

I know Amber said he preferred to be referred to by his current name and identifies as male, but was that his choice at all? He seemed perfectly content with the pretty dresses and feminine presentation when he was a kid and made it sound like his parents kind of just went "No daughter of mine is going to have testicles, you're a boy now, act like it" cuz like, he literally said he had to learn how to be more like a boy and whatnot. It didn't really seem like it was his choice in the slightest.
Maybe he's fine identifying as male now, but he didn't make it sound like he had any problem identifying as female either. It's more like he's been taught to reject his past than it being his own preference.

I didn't vibe with the first few episodes but I'm really glad I stuck with it, that scene with his mother was done incredibly well and it got really interesting. I am still kind of confused about one thing though

I agree, there was more than enough time to have developed SomTor and TouchDaisy more. Both would have been a really interesting addition considering they break the mold of the other lead relationships

This is the definition of everyone has someone for them - including those with creepy interests/habits. Weirdos find weirdos and make it work lmao. Like, anyone else finding a guy stalking them would be creeped out, so while in general I still would've liked for that to have not been encouraged as much, it did work out that Nuea found it endearing.

Honestly, I just thought there were a lot of parts that were really boring or that I found myself skipping through. I agree, it touched on some very good topics and had some very good scenes as well, but the series as a whole still contained a lot of boring parts or parts too cringey/creepy for my comfort. If that's your thing though, I'm glad you enjoyed it :)) but yeah, I think my reasoning is why it doesn't have a higher overall rating.

Ok but the ending was kind of awful and rushed? Like, I hate that Xiao Xu doesn't know Le Tao is with Baobao until the literal night before the wedding considering he was also her high school friend who just seemingly dropped off the face of the earth years before. And then she and Shi Yi just completely upstage the bride and groom??? Like, literally, the bride and groom get this little applause while she and Shi Yi get confetti cannons??? Wtf???

Not to mention, Shi Yi just completely being a dick to her in the days before that, leading her to believe things that aren't true and just NOT EXPLAINING ANYTHING TO HER LIKE COME ON. And then having sex(?) when she's super drunk and he still hasn't explained anything to her or made up with her in the slightest? I don't even know what else to say about that one.

But ya, lies, big fight, sex of highly questionable consensuality, and then proposes to her at someone else's wedding. They went from a cute couple I was rooting for to just a whole ass mess that were terrible to each other so fast I got whiplash within the last few episodes.

Sidenote: I know it's very common in shows but I really hate the "just don't give up" trope because she literally felt guilty for so long when she said no and he just wouldn't accept it? And then made her out to be the bad guy when she (surprise surprise) didn't just suddenly fall for him now that he's being pushy af. Then she did a complete 180 right when he was leaving, but like, she didn't do anything to further push him at all once she heard he was with someone else, which, good.

for someone who supposedly loves music and singing, I'm like 20 episodes in and she hasn't sung once or really tried to be around music at all? like i thought we were gonna see her help ML develop his music and songs and have a little arc where she's actually working with music again, but so far pretty much nada. hopefully it'll come up later but wow. everyone around her is like "oh I can't give up singing I love it too much" and shes like ya I get it then proceeds to not sing a note. shes just like oh im not really a good singer i only loved it and did it for years but i guess now i shouldnt sing at all unless i go to karaoke or something and for some reason her friends all nod along and agree with her?
first episode she stated that in college she would hide under her covers at night staying up late to write songs, but that was just never mentioned again ig? like, i keep feeling like she's about to sing/play something, then she just doesn't. "don't touch my piano" proceeds to not use the piano at all "is at a bar where her friend is performing who knows she performs too" proceeds to not sing with him at all for old times sake or anything. like. ?? idk
otherwise I really like it, that just has me kinda frustrated lol

Ok, hear me out. If he could drink blood from bags and not just straight from the person, couldn't they have just slowly collected his blood so they had enough that he could drink enough in one go without completely draining him?

I also don't agree that it's a spoiler as it doesn't allude to anyone's particular involvement in the act. There are multiple characters and places where it could conceivably occur, and giving the TW that there is such a scene is different from spoiling the effect it has on the plot

If you're okay with it being in the tags, why do you care if it's not labeled spoiler in the comments? You're right, it should be in the tags. but it's currently not and so I actually really appreciated I saw this comment before watching, as I agree with the original commenter and tend to avoid things with such scenes.
But really, if you're fine with it being right under the description, why would you tell someone to then label it as a spoiler?
