I guess it might be similar to what happened to Newwiee's Kao in Dark Blue Kiss. Newwiee's rocking it! No wonder a Thai celeb magazine called him the actor with the most golden Qs aka the most desirable line-up of upcoming dramas!

Oh, my sweet, ignorant, hateful child, if by having Put Your Head on My Shoulder, I Need Romance, Wan Wasana, The Comments (for GMMTV, BTW) and one more unnamed drama, all as a lead, up for airing plus a row of endorsement deals means he did not get any offers, then I pity other actors.

From what I read, Gong Jun is as much an ally as he can be, considering China's censorship. Before the ban, he apparently openly stated that you love who you love, period. Also, this is his second drama based on a BL material. And when you see the BTS vids from Word of Honor and the BTS pics from Advance Bravely, he looks very chill about male-on-male intimacy. Especially during the filming of AB with Xu Feng, it seems their on-screen interaction was pretty much what you saw off-screen. They took to each other like ducks to water.

Apparently, Xiao Zhan's crazy fans - those who got AO3 blocked in China - decided to get this drama banned and the actors discredited (they started digging out dirt on ZZH and dragging Simon Gong's GF into it) because they're afraid that it might become more popular than The Untamed and thus make ZZH and SG more popular than XZ. They are nuts, literally certifiable.
How did a person as sweet and kind as Xiao Zhan acquire such crazy and dumb following is beyond me. Especially since, from what said on Tumblr by someone who frequents Chinese boards, ZZH's and Simon Gong's fans are growing in numbers and they are not letting this go - and they are retaliating against Xiao Zhan so his crazy stans are basically destroying his career with their stunts.
Please, stop mentioning/making fun of how this drama passed censorship. It's really not funny considering that it's already been reported to the authorities for offensive content as was stated on Tumblr. And since China in general goes back to work only tomorrow, these complaints will now be processed. We will be lucky if they don't pull it. And these comments don't help since oftentimes they get screencaped and sent to the Chinese authorities as a proof of how offensive the work is. So please, I'm begging you, stop. You are literally giving those who want it pulled ammunition.

Wow, Newwiee is on fire these days, going from one lead role to the next! I love that he doesn't just accept scraps from GMMTV but cherry picks parts with other companies. Good for him!
I honestly, unabashedly love this drama. I loved how they were able to build up all the relationships bit by bit, knowing that there would be S2. And the most intriguing character for me? Sandee. Is he good? Is he bad? Well, whatever he does, he definitely does it while looking very hot ;)
I'm so curious about what his next part, after I Need Romance, will be. He said at Fantopia, IIRC, that he already had another drama planned. Also, the director/writer of 3 Will Be Free mentioned during a Q&A that he should be working with Newwiee soon!
Unfortunately no, they've been filming only for like 14 days now and it might take up to 6 months to be done. Covid played havoc with the film industry, too.
