I think Kang has always been that way because we could see glimpses of his real character with Min Seong. I think…
Really? I thought it was executed very well though. He never demonstrated the real him after his mom died in front of the family but he’s always been this playful with his real friend and not sure if it’s too subtle but they have been showing how their relationship develop all the way tho? A lot of times it’s just a single look into the eyes or one facial expression. But they put in a lot of effort to show the viewers the development of the relationship and character in very very subtle ways
I rated this a 10 overall and for all the episodes just for the feels alone. Some of us are just simple or yearn…
I guess for me, without a proper development of the leads' relationship, I just can't "feel" it lol My "feelings" have to really rooted from emotions that make sense lol
Wow. I am surprised how high rated this drama is. I haven’t really watched this type of rom-com for a very long time, it’s fun but 9? Lol Wow... I don’t hate this show, but just felt a little unfair for the ones that are actually really good to have a rating much lower than this one. No hate, just surprised and voicing my own opinion. It’s probably a 7-7.5 for me so far but I have a high rating scale so it’s usually a likable drama to be 7-7.5
Seriously, am I the only one thinking that it’s only 16 episodes and at episode 11 we still don’t have progress,…
Actually on the contrast there was a time when I thought oh wow he started liking her so early on? Lol
I love how they took the necessary time to build this up tho. For the characters’ backgrounds and history, it totally needed this much time IMO. And would hate it for the ML to know who she is before he figures his feelings out himself. It’s more pure for him to decide to like her without knowing the past and I like it this way more.
Seeing the previews for ep13, I am in love with the timeline of his feelings lol
The writers must have had 10 different drama ideas but couldn't decide so they cut them all up and baked them…
It’s an extremely cliche drama with a bunch of old plots but I didn’t mind it simply because the way they handled the lead couple’s personality and relationship development and the actors supreme acting. Totally falling for the ML’s crazily subtle yet effective acting. The way they built up how he slowly falling for her was beautiful. And how the actors demonstrated it was as beautiful. I wasn’t really watching for the best plot or most touching plots, I simply watch this for a story about how these two come together, and that, they did extremely well.
Also, very charming main leads (personality) IMO :)
This type of dramas are not for everyone. But I love it so much. And - it doesn't have to be someone only enjoys melodrama to like it, I am a very much OCN person, but I enjoy myself some good melodramas. This is one.
I love the two leads and how the story is developing for their relationships. It's such subtle yet matured, and full of personalities. It doesn't make sense for the ML to suddenly fall in love with all his AND her backgrounds. TBH I was actually thinking oh he started liking her so soon lol
Although I love how the story is being written, and I know the writer is trying to create a warm/healing story even tho life can be cruel, I wish they don't need to force that much tragic things on the leads. Like are they trying to see which one is more tragic? lol I think I would have killed myself if I were any of them.
Also, please, no, just let Joon continue to love his girl - I hate two guys (or girls) fighting for the same girl (or guy) at the same time. Hate it sooooo much.
I've read comments in other pages saying this drama is too slow, but I think its going the way it should. I'm…
I love the pacing of this drama! I love so much that it took its time to develop their relationships in such a subtle way. A lot of the things happening between the two leads are just a simple look and expression.
Like when FL tried to wipe ML's tears in the car, the surprised look from ML and looking straight into FL's eyes for like a blink second, that's when the ML started noticing - that just feels so much more realistic to me.
As an adult, most people can sense if someone else is interested in you with just one look or one sentence, you just can sense it right away.
A lot of their development goes unspoken, so for people who aren't paying attention, they won't notice at all the changes.
And sorry I just don't like Joon unless he's a friend. I like the character has dimension but I just personally don't like this type lol
It’s not an ending but rather unfinished season 1. If it got canceled it’s not the writer’s fault. The drama…
The whole point is, it's NOT an ending if it was intended for more seasons. it's like if you are watching a movie in intermission you are saying it's such a bad ending it didn't answer any questions at the intermission.
100% agree. why she needs to carry around 3 suitcases with money?? if the last suitcase is her share with 3.3…
I am 22min in the first episode and I already wanted to roll my eyes seeing how the ML and FL handled them ML being tailed like ok who takes surveillance photos that obvious dressing like they are going to an event well groomed with a big ass camera in plain sight and with two other guys doing nothing but looking suspicious. And there are a million ways for the ML to tell the FL he’s being followed and like how the FL turned back when the group with cameras are THAT close but her not being smart or attentive to the surroundings when they are clearly doing dirty deeds... How is it believable he is ex detective and they are gonna win eventually if that’s the skill level of both leads? Lol
The whole scene was made to just makeup dramatic and “poetic” (cinematography)...
Dramas really set their tones in the first 30 min or so, if this is the type of “action” we will be seeing the entire drama, I don’t think I can stand lol I really wanted to give the drama another 1-2 episodes before dropping but seeing the gangster guy torturing the other gang to ask where’s the ML’s make up & style... Just makes me feel like this drama is gonna be so pretentious to look cool.
I came here to see what others like or dislike so I can decide to drop it or not... Thanks you guys comments, I probably will drop now
This is one of the very few shows I could finish this year. People who enjoyed this would probably also enjoy The Watcher, people who prefers a well developed and executed plot and characters throughout, discussion about moral values and life choices, and giving details enough time to tell a good story—maybe somewhat already told type of stories. A bit more calm. I enjoy plots that are well thought out, put together and executed more so than a fast paced, excited, action packed, or surprisingly new plot that didn’t take time to properly tell a story. I like how this drama tells the same story in a different angle, with the leads are rather distanced and rational, not like Superman but logical enough. The personality of the characters seemed convincing and did not change from beginning to end. Grown but not a different person.
If you enjoyed The Watcher, Arthdal Chronicles, and He Is Psychometric this year, you probably would enjoy The Lies Within.
Triggereeeeeed!!!!!! Do not watch this drama unless you want to punch your TV screen and kill someone. The ending…
It’s not an ending but rather unfinished season 1. If it got canceled it’s not the writer’s fault. The drama itself does not waste any of your time. Watch it if you want high quality thrills
I watched it when I was 19 years old and I actually want to watch this again being 30-31 now since this drama…
Totally. I still remember it til today after 12 years lol If you haven’t, you should check out Be Melodramatictoo. It’s really good too. But I think it’s a better drama, but I remember the learnings from this drama more.
The ratings are kind of low, receiving only 3-4% each episode :( But according to Soompi, it reached number 1…
It’s low because Nielsen uses an old method to sample only a small group of TV viewers not counting people who watch online. Most audience of this drama aren’t the group to watch on TV.
