Title My Dearest
A big part for the drama's success is the absence of filler scenes.
Its so enjoyable to watch a show without endless pointless empty filler scenes that have nothing to contribute to the story.
Very fast paced storytelling, also adds to the success

me too, at least that's what I'm hoping also
Im fine when big sharks buy products and make it available to more countries as long as they stay out of the production process. Im a big fan of jdramas and anime and though i recognize japanese cinema/dramaland is done in an amateur way in many aspects, i treasure the uniqueness of topics they choose to depict, taboo topics, difficult, hard, deep and very human-ly kind things, For the above reasons i also treasure spanish movieland as the most unique among the europeans.
I too love this series though im not a fan of korean historical ones. I like the multilayered characters so far, the fast paced story, the little to no politics (ok i also love Ryang Eum-he is my little candy boy lol)

I like that too, but tends to be a norm so much to the point that often the story structure is the same, eg usually in romcoms, in ep 9-10 the couple gets together, 11-13 everything falls apart, 14-15 a separation, 16 an ending-oftern rushed. Not to mention what happens when netflix is involved-it can even ruin a jdrama based on anime. Mass production destroys everything. Thanks for the info about 16 ep. I hate spreading false information and i really thought it had something to do with restrictions!

Really? Then why most dramas tend to have 16 ep? I thought they had a strict limit like the new chinese restriction in cdramas

Its not season 2 (not that it matters) they probably cut half of the episodes due to the Korean restriction for strictly 16 ep of each drama. But i meant the ending of that 2nd part-season. Lets hope for the best!

If the old man in that prison for mental ill people, is the ML, that's no good news.
If he is just someone who tells the story to the officer, then we might get a happy ending. Thankfully he is very witty to die that easily, but the first scene is not that promising for a good ending. I mean there are so many armed men behind him and we see him walking to his death

Lmao 🤣 same thing I had in mind. The actress has taken care of herself enough to look like she's in her early…
She doesnt even look like an old woman.
More like an old man
in a haunted house
with no mirrors
I think she should execute the group of stylists for making her look that creepy!
As for virgins, almost every kdrama where the couple is 30+ implies that they never had any kind of intimate relationship in the past. Up to now, there are only a few exceptions of kdramas who depict normal people on that aspect. The best you can see is the guy having some kind of past but the woman is always a virgin no matter the age.
(there's no bl in this drama, but the 2 boys could make a good bl couple, their interactions and their characters the way they are written here would make a perfectly joyful bl couple)

First, he falls for her on the first sight. Okay. She seems to be really good, and he wants her to train him.…
There is literally a hysteria about age gap in general-not only in movies. Neo-Puritanism? Maybe, Many people nowadays get crazy when a couple has a big age difference and i honestly dont get it, as we are talking about adults. Even if someone doesnt prefer a partner much younger/older (eg me, i always prefer to have partners around my age-not that i would turn my back to a true love coming from a much older/younger guy, its just my preference) i dont see any reason for people to like/dislike things about other people's interests, taste, preferences.

lol same. he can be her dad
Im not a fan of certain couple combinations, including age gaps, im just fine with any combination that works for the people, be it in dramas or in real life. I love it so far, not only for the couple, but for the whole atmosphere. Its not something new or unique as a story, a light fluffy pinky watch

really? hm well let him be so. I still dont mind the age gap, but i'd prefer if his styling was a bit different. That slight mustache and his hair, omg its like he escaped from a 30's hollywood noir mafia movie or something.

No way he could be her dad. He's at most, 10 years older than her. But even if it was like that, they are both adults. The rest is a matter of personal taste, some like age gaps, some hate it, some are ok with it.

Currently on ep5 and its one of the most hilarious dramas i ve ever watched.
I can rarely laugh in chinese comedies-especially romcoms, but this one is just pure laughter. Zhao Lu Si is good at comedy scenes she can pull out the whole thing by herself, not caring about how she looks and thats a good thing about a comedic actor.
Also, the food preparation process is presented in a very impressive way-one of the best in food dramas- vivid colors, perfect rich sounds, fire, water, steam, all very nicely given and very proper for the whole drama aesthetics.
The couple looks interesting, they are really different in so many ways, appearance wise, she's got that chubby baby face full of life and he's got that skinny look of a picky, introvert, snob and aloof guy.
I have no expectations from the storyline-ive given up my high standards on romcoms-but i ll keep on watching for the sake of the looks of it.
One epic mistake they did: in the scene where his secretary has dinner with her bestie, the restaurant is supposed to be Finish but the church bell on the center of decoration has line underneath in pure greek: "παναγια η γοργεπήκοος" meaning "holy Mary the one who listens quickly (the prayers of people)"
Also the pictures around are from greek islands. I dont get it, how can someone confuse Greece with Finland, they re so far away with each other and with huge differences both culturally and geographically lol
It was very weird cause i know chinese people know many things about Greece-who did that huge mistake from the production team.

So you mean not bad = 8,5 (which basically means very good or great)?
Dramas with a lower rating, often happen to be masterpieces. It depends. Most of the times, the lower rating to a very artistic drama, comes from younger audience or in case of an edgy-"difficult" main story, conservative people can bury it to the lower scale. Of course its a matter of personal taste, but many people want from dramas to portrait ideal heroes, rightful characters etc. For the rest of us who dont have such needs, the rating depends only on the artistic side of the whole project, the performances, the storytelling etc.
Personally im a very strict viewer. I ve given MANY 1-2 points in dramas that are blockbusters, highly successful for the majority and ive given pure 9-10 to dramas that may trigger people with stuff such incest, cheating, bad heroes etc. The only criteria for someone to watch a drama/movie should be only his/her personal instict or maybe watching 1-2 ep is a good way to decide if watching further. I never get influenced by comments and ratings though i like to read what people write under a show. Otherwise i may lose a good watch.
