I have a whole list of high rated dramas that are crappy to the bone and the opposite-gems that are underrated. Each person has an opinion and a different taste and its ok. I love TTEOTM and at the same time i recognize its flaws and epic fails in many aspects. So what? I wont fight over my opinion and whoever disagrees. Dramas are for entertainment and thats all.

Αvenue has en extra soft spot on xianxia. She even started her channel because of TMOPB back then. She is not a hater-on the contrary-and she has no profit to rant or give positive reviews to any drama. Thus she always says that everyone has the right to have an opinion, its a matter of taste so she suggests people to go and watch the dramas she rants about to form their own opinion. Her reviews are always on point when it comes to production quality and other details eg on narration,pacing, visuals, cgi, technical stuff etc. There's nothing to be jealous. I agree with some of her points about TTEOTM and i disagree on some other points she said about it. Overall she is a very clever person and very careful so to not offend anyone of the audience. For all the above i follow her since she started her youtube channel, though many times i disagree with her reviews-but i can always understand her points and i enjoy her comments.

Yeap i know there are a bunch of reasons and mostly the fact that chinese entertainment industry tends to produce so many dramas (of course not all of them get aired) and when there's profit as a priority, quality or extra care for everything, goes out of the window. Actors could save that -as you said: knowing mandarin should be a must for a real actor, but not all of them are such professionals. I know actors who are over 20 years in the industry and still cant speak mandarin-daring to play in historical dramas. pf industry and profit goes first for everyone
(LYX comes from Chengdu but he speaks mandarin since young age-thats what professionalism is all about

Dear lord its been so long since i ve seen such bad acting and such nonsense dialogues! As if a 5 yo wrote the script. I dropped at ep 2 . Especially ML is like a piece of wood with abs as an actor

Problem is when the voice is recognizable and you mess up the heroes. And the worst thing is when dubbing, 50% of the actor's performance is lost. Its better when actors dub themselves afterwards. There is still a percent of loss cause their not into character as they are during shooting but at least they can catch up, its part of them

I love our main leads in the main arc,
but now the dream arc ended, i so gonna miss ep 16, the moment when he realised it was her watching after him and they gave us 5-10 min of pure magic, no cgi, no visual tricks, just her blowing air to his watery eyes and 10000 emotions on his face passing one by one, with no words! What a great moment-to me the best CP moment up to now!

Sadly, Kdramas nowdays follow a certain pattern due to the 16 ep limit. The narration goes: character building-relationship of any kind building gradually up to 11-13 ep, then everything gets messy as hell, and then the solution-redemption-whatever the outcome. So skipping the filler scenes or other stuff is on point.

Does anybody know if the actors have dubbed themselves or the dubbing is made by prof dubbers? I ve got a feeling that its their own voices, dubbing in the post production, but im not sure since only few actors/actresses are fluent in Mandarin

Procrastination i meant for the lists i intend to make for other people to see and check my recomendations! I was also in pause in chinese dramas, waiting for TTEOTM but i also knew what will be its success (the main leads of course and the high budget) and what will be the fails (overdone makeup, aesthetics on ML 's costumes, a bit chaotic plotline, tmo), but i ll finish it since i love Bai Lu and Leo. Im very consistent and true to my fav actors especially when it comes to romance, cause in other genres i can tolerate more failures, but when it comes to romance, a bad couple makes me wanna throw my screen out of the window

Familiar Stranger left me craving for more so i had to watch the other 2 projects with the same couple (you ll find it on main actor/actress mdl profile). Personally the place where i find short dramas, exciting enough, with decent actors though low budget productions most of the time, is japanese dramas and older korean (before netflix where they produce the same things aka CEO with traumatised childhood, nonsense virginities, bla bla bla). I plan to have 2-3 lists of the above but im queen of procrastination. Currently im gonna stalk your profile for ideas LOL

Provoke ha? i ll go and check it! There are hidden little gems everywhere, not that popular, but worth watching, in Chinese/Korean/Japanese dramaland and films. Most of them are not that popular and you cant judge from ratings cause sometimes they are REALLY low. I was saved by following some profiles here and read their suggestions otherwise i wouldnt know! (In Familiar Stranger the main leads give great performance- i was shocked that they dont have already a good portfolio, only short mini dramas)
