I didn't like it the first time around and I dropped it. Tried it a second time with friends and surprisingly we all loved it. The second half is much better but I wish they committed to one ending.
EP. 1 was kinda slow and lost my attention at some points but EP. 2 more than made up for it. Great acting, writing and cinematography as usual. I also forgot how much of a tearjerker each of these cases are.
I can't believe some people have already finished this drama but for the rest of us it will take literally 4 months at the rate YoYo is uploading the episodes.
You can always tell when most of the writers' room and production crew is male. There were very badass, well rounded female characters like Usagi and Kuina but whenever there was a bikini clad young actress (which was most of the Beach arc), the camera always took the opportunity to zoom in on their behinds. Male gaze to the max.
This drama was amazing. Althought there was some parts that were slow at times, it was always exciting. The action scenes were amazing, the production value and cinematography was through the roof. The plot always kept me glued to the screen! Netflix needs to throw more money at jdramas like they would with kdramas.
This was an amazing drama from start to finish. Sure they could have easily made this a 12 episode drama since there was a lot of material and character development that needed more time to develop, but the story was nevertheless extremely well written and the acting was top notch. Easily one of the best dramas from this year. I cannot recommend this enough. 8.9/10.
This drama deserves a 9.0 but I was okay with 8.3 considering how low even the best of jdramas are rated on this site. But 8.3 to 7.9 is frankly insulting.
if I had to nitpick which flaw I didn't like, the ending was a bit rushed, didn't like Manami getting along with…
Yeah, how did they forgive each other so easily when they were so awful to each other? Just like with Nozomi's blogger arc, they rushed the Karen Otome's character arc too. But still, it was a really good drama.
hit or miss. some episodes are great, others are confusing or boring, most are in between.
I don't complain too much because I either see my new fav actresses or find new ones. And a couple of these stories are genuinely good. Also love your profile pic btw.
They're trying way too hard to humanize Hyunchae and Dokyun. The only problem is that they are both pathetic excuses for human beings and I don't feel an iota of pity or sympathy for them.
Yes, she had an abusive father and a poverty stricken childhood. Yes, he loves her so much he'll literally die for her. But these people have been almost-murdering, fake kidnapping, gaslighting, emotionally torturing, blackmailing and betraying almost everyone they come across for more 10 years.
I hope they get some form of karmic punishment. But Seo-jin and the writers won't let that happen. All I hope is that Hang-chae doesn't get sole or even partial custody of Da-bin.
