first of all, thanks to ECOTVSUBS for the amazing English subtitles, I wouldn't be able to watch this without your hard work.
on to the movie itself... I think I'm too old for this genre, bc I didn't really have the patience for all the teenage angst, squealing and flailing around, the petty fights and misunderstandings, all the usual teen drama tropes & characterizations.... but overall this was a good way to pass the time at least. I loved the actors, the production value was crazy good - look at the beautiful cinematography, the use of brights colours, etc. and ofc the visuals are 💯
also shoutout to the OST, such amazing songs, even Kpop ones??overall, I'd give this movie a 8/10.

yeah, Im also confused bc I didn't hear any Korean songs in the movie itself? but it shows what a big deal this was, there's even Kpop singers involved

Ok, I'll guess we'll spend less time on the new couple and more on their past Joseon lives. Cause kdrama. But I have to say, the backstory is much better here than the webtoon... Which was super juvenile. Joseon caste system is insane. Good thing there's no such thing as inequality anymore.
Wait ... Why is their past life in Joseon romance actually cuter than their modern day one lmao. I love how she followed his trail of wet footprints. Or how... He spoke to her with respect? Despite her status? Gave her that ointment? This is so wholesome… (but don’t let this distract u from the fact we’d all be peasants in Joseon and our lives would be hell)
That was rough... Running while pregnant and tryna to not trip over your own hanbok, falling down a hill and crashing into a wall of rock?? Yikes!! I would also be catatonic if I even lost my baby by the end…
This dude massacred his own co-workers, all on his own like he's Homelander. And yet this girl is worried about his safety, with no whining? You seeing this, Han Ri-ta? But yeah, imagine getting murdered by your own comrade. I feel bad for them, even if they were basically Joseon cops or worse Joseon secret police. Hope they too all got promotions to detective in the next life.
Why is this Joseon storyline much more interesting than the modern one? 💀 A bright servant girl, a nice noblewoman suffering thru the tragedy of losing a child, a mountain spirit in love with the latter, the honourable cop guy in love with the servant... U could make a whole separate drama about this.
Mountain tiger boy and Cho-young having a heartwarming romance meanwhile her servant's man getting tortured in prison for 3 months 😭😭 also not the slide straight into her lap
I felt more moved by their kiss than all the main couple's kisses so far. Like,,, "now you too have a beautiful sunset on your face🥺🥺" why does this line go so hard??
Wait Maksoon is pregnant too??? When did they even...??? I know Maksoon, Choyoung and lover boy must have had some plan, but what were they cooking up on that mountain?? How did both lovers get stabbed??
Did bro just murder her uncle??? He was already turned into a dog, abandoned by his love and dying of a sickness? How is he still catching strays?? Honestly a solid hour of television tho...
