Not saying Fan Yake has a valid excuse for being evil, but her backstory feels much more compelling because her resentment is deep-rooted and has accumulated over the years. She has spent her whole life feeling second-tier, growing up beside Ting Fuyuan and constantly being reminded of everything she doesn’t have. So when she finally sees a chance to carve out her own bright path (or at least she thinks), you can at least understand where her stupid decision is coming from.

Commander Lu, on the other hand, barely has any relationship with the ML to even justify that level of jealousy. The ML isn’t even some high-ranking military figure whose position he would naturally envy. His jealousy just feels far more contrived and plot-driven.

I am looking forward to love in the red dust. Wang xing yue is another actor i would love to watch. There are news it will be end if august.

This is one character that I feel makes no sense. Most of the villains in the story have proper backstories and clear motivations for why they do what they do, but Commander Lu? Simply being jealous feels like such a cheap plot device, especially compared to how well-written the other antagonists are. Hopefully i see some character development.

Not all viewers can interpret a character’s inner thoughts through facial expressions, eye acting, and body language unless they’re really paying attention. You’d be surprised how many people multitask or just leave a drama playing in the background.

It reminds me of a comment during Splendid Match when someone asked, “When did the FL even fall in love with the ML?” Because there were no signs at all. So many people replied, pointing out how tensed she became around him, the way she looked at him, her body language—and how obvious it was that she was already attracted to him from the first time she saw him.

So yeah, some viewers really do need everything spelled out line by line.

I love that Zhao Ling still has his core values intact. He doesn’t want a marriage just for mutual benefit — he wants the girl to genuinely love him. He doesn’t take shortcuts when it comes to something that matters to him.

True, I agree with that, the make up is too white but i think most idol drama actors are like that which can be frustrating.

The actors i remember where he is more natural looking and still can see his pores were li xian in flourished peony and wu lei in love like galaxy.

Unfortunately, the reality is that mainstream viewers often judge acting at a surface level—visuals, makeup, posture—and pick apart things that are irrelevant to the actual performance. Good acting is so much more than looking the part or delivering the right expression. It’s the combination of microexpressions, voice modulation, body language, timing, emotional transitions, and, most importantly, internal processing…

I can see that Ding Yuxi has all of these qualities, yet superficial viewers somehow choose to focus on something as trivial as his posture! Disappointing .
