Well, Zhao Ling needs to redeem himself and save FTY’s pride because she’s practically become a laughing stock among the ladies. They’ve all been gossiping, “Commander Zhao isn’t even engaged, so what exactly is she waiting for?” 😂
I tried but I can't seem to get into this. The leads don't captivate me, I feel nothing for them.
I think it will Only start at ep 4 when they finally decide to work together and eventually build a relationship… but if you are not hooked by then maybe it’s not for you. I”d say this drama is not the typical high ranking powerful ML or even knight in shining armour trope. They will be working together to rise to the top.
He would excel in an anti hero type role. Something like his character from Missing you but as a main lead and…
I’m hoping that after Flex x Cop, his cameo will make casting directors see him in a new light. His last two dramas, Moonshine and The Deal, felt a little too safe for an actor of his calibre. He can absolutely deliver much more complex, layered characters—he just needs to be given the opportunity.
And not to mention, he has the kind of visuals that could give him a real edge with morally grey characters. He can look so soft, refined, and harmless—like someone who wouldn’t even lift a finger against anyone—while still being completely believable as someone capable of something deeply unhinged or even psychotic underneath. That contrast could be incredibly effective in the right role. Maybe this is something close to ji sung role in devil judge.
Ding Yuxi — I’m officially a new fan. What an actor. That scene when Zhao Ling went to Advisor Li’s house had me completely sold. His face was simmering with danger, authority, and ruthlessness, like he was one second away from killing the man if only he could. 😂 Then he stepped outside and, without a single line, thought of our FL — and his eyes slowly softened into this look of pure longing.
The contrast between those emotions was so striking, and I felt every tiny shift right down my spine. THIS is the kind of acting experience I want from a drama — and unfortunately, it’s something a lot of idol actors just can’t quite pull off.
Thank you, iQIYI. The Express subscription i paid just to watch ding yuxi was worth every penny. No regrets. 😂
you can be 1st by studying a lot but clearly all that studying didnt teach him shit about people
Sadly, this is also true in real life. I can count so many people I personally know who graduated with high distinction and all, yet their manners and character are garbage. Like, what’s the point of being intelligent if you are so full of yourself and can’t even treat people with kindness and respect?
