according to some melons, in order to attract zbb to join Kunning, the writer combined the material of 2 male leads into 1 so zbb will get more screen time. Now zbb can't join, hopefully the writer/ production can revert back to having 3 male leads just like the novel. with the new "newbie" ml, I worry BL has to really carry the whole drama by herself. so far iqiyi hasn't released any info as to who's the director, writer, costume designer yet... hope for the best.

top billed or first billed means the name of that actor will appear first on all promotional materials, it's usually the more known/ popular one. for example, LIS and TTEOTM, LYX is top billed and BL is second billed. from reading Weibo comments about different actors, I see most c-netizen like to brag about their own idol being top billed and if that drama ever becomes a hit, they want all the accolades goes to their idol being the top billed.

If that's the case, then the only positive is that Bai Lu will be top billed. I read somewhere if zbb is the ML then it will be even billed. Personally I really don't care whose is top billed but I noticed with the Chinese entertainment industry, it's something c-netizen talk about all the time... they're so obsessed about it to the point that the 2nd billed actress/actor can't take any credit on the success of a film.

She's not even 30 yet but there're haters already calling her old on Weibo. Sometime I think maybe she's just too nice to ask her agency for a new agent to represent her....

With Kuning, I hope her agency can negotiate with IQIYI for a more experienced ML and not have a newbie... (Zhang Ling He as side ML is ok but not main ML). Also, I don't like how her agency is inserting Wang Xing Yue as the 2nd ML (newbie from her own agency) into her project again! He's already in One and Only with her as 2nd ML, it's enough.

I don't understand why can't her agency negotiate or line up her filming better... I see on the average, she goes through 2-3 months between the next film. XK is from the same agency and he films back to back. Maybe she needs a better manager than the one she currently has.

I know what you mean with the writer. I had such a hard time reading the summary alone- gave me a headache haha. Hopefully the screenwriter is a good one... as long it is a good script. Bai Lu most likely read it before accepting the role.
The ML situation is a bit confusing/ frustrating and I share your sentiment with getting right ML.

The rumor ML is now Zhang Ling He, he's not as known as Zhang bin bin but he's a decent actor (watched Maiden Holmes) plus he's really good looking.

I know, bai Jing ting is a really good actor (watched reset too). It would be nice if they can collaborate in the future... I read that he's really easy going and funny in real life, I can imagine the behind the scenes would be so fun to watch if they were to film together.

I haven't seen any but if you don't mind bad translation, you can copy and paste the title of the novel in Chinese (坤宁) onto google search then use the translate to English on right side of the link. I read Till The End of The Moon that way. With the Auto/bad English translation, I probably understand about 70% of the novel.

I'm contemplating if I should read (坤宁), I don't want to waste time until Bai Lu is 100% on board as the FL. Guess I'll wait for the booting ceremony to begin.

Likely in Feb. There's a chance she can wrap up before Leo (LYX)... Bai Lu started filming a month before him; he was injured from his previous drama and needed about a month to recover. The production company didn't do the booting ceremony till he can start shooting.

this's somewhat an idol drama, my expectation is pretty low all around (from actors to director, so forth). I tried 2 episodes, I'm out.

Yes, it's part of Tencent S class lineup. Somehow this drama doesn't look too expensive... where did the money/investment went? The CGI looks like a A class (a step less then S class) drama at most.
