I get the whole LGBT theme but isn't this kinda like child porn without the porn part considering the relationship the two main characters have since the young girl is nowhere near the age of 18. :/

Jesus Christ! For the love of God! Why do J-drama subbers have to stop subbing a show only to leave the remaining episodes unsubbed. I know they have a life and all but I wish they took the task of subbing shows only if they knew they were gonna sub it 100 percent. I hope someone picks up this show and subs the remaining 8 episodes. Sucks that K-drama is subbed as soon as their episodes are released and here we are waiting for J-dramas to be subbed which feels like an eternity! :/

I know they have a life and all but I wish they took the task of subbing shows only if they knew they were gonna sub it 100 percent. This is Perfect Crime all over again. At least this drama got subbed for 10 episodes unlike Perfect Crime which was only subbed for 2 episodes. I hope someone picks these two shows where their respective subbers left off. Sucks that K-drama is subbed as soon as their episodes are released and here we are waiting for J-dramas to be subbed which feels like an eternity! :/

I'm not a fanatic but I still reply to u :) hehe. I think u r right. I love every drama, jdrama, kdrama and cdrama…
Appreciate your honest reply. =) You wound't believe the insane replies I got from K-drama fanatics when I posted a similar comment taking a jab at K-dramas on Kiss Asian.

Wow. That is some premise. This is what I love about J-dramas. Their plots are so diverse compared to the lovey dubby redundant plots in K-dramas. Not to mention how short and simple they are compared to K-dramas which drag on for 16-32 episodes. XD
I wouldn't be surprised if some K-drama fanatic found the need to defend K-dramas by replying to this comment. Lol

Japanese version is better imo.

Been waiting for this to get subbed. Its a shame how only few J-dramas get regularly subbed as compared to K-dramas. Anyway, hope this gets subbed all the way to the end unlike Perfect Crime which was only subbed until episode 2.

I'm not really happy about your review because everyone knows this drama is all about student and teacher romance…
Thanks for the heads up! I swear, people just can't deal with someone else's different opinion.

Interesting comments you wrote here. It made me think of Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, and his wife,…
Not really since I've only dated women my age. Maybe a year or two older but not something like 10 years. Like, what would I even have in common with a chick who's 36 years old. (since I'm 26 btw) Well, I'm not saying it won't be possible but I've never really had the chance to be with someone that older than me is what I'm saying.
But seriously, even in fiction, I personally find it easier to see age gap relationships when both characters have matured rather than one be a kid barely out of his high school and the other be his or her teacher. If both characters were in their 30s or 40s and had the same 10 year age gap, I wouldn't find it uncomfortable to watch 'em since both characters are mature enough to make their own life decisions. Imagine if the genders were reversed a 30 something year old dude was with this 18 year old chick fresh outta high school. You get the picture I'm trying to paint. Lol
Hell, even Henry Cavill aka Superman was dating a 19 year old chick a few years ago . He dumped her after being with her for barely a year and keep in mind that he was 33 at the time. I'm not saying that age gap relationships are bad but age gap relationships with a person who's barely 20 are never gonna last long, at least in my observation. And I really hate how the Japanese popularize age gap relationships with kids barely even mature in their media. Just how they've popularized cheating and infidelity in their media.

Title The Handmaiden Spoiler
The word masterpiece gets thrown around so easily nowadays that its lost its meaning. I've heard a few people on the internet say that this movie was a masterpiece and so I decided to give it a watch but what I expected to be a masterpiece turned out to be a predictable plot. If you've seen enough movies as I have, you can easily predict the entire plot and its ending as you keep watching the movie. This was one movie which deserved to have a sad ending considering how awful and dis likable the three main lead characters are. I mean, the Count is basically a con artist, then you have Sook-hee who is a thief and then you have the arrogant Lady Hideko who treated her servants like trash to the point that you hated her. Not to mention the fact that they all tried deceiving each other in one way or another so how Hideko and Sook-hee could ever trust each other is beyond me.As for the plot, we have Lady Hideko and Count Fujiwara plotting to elope and use a handmaiden as their scapegoat (that nobody will miss) once the said handmaiden gets thrown into a madhouse using Hideko's name. Sook-hee is the handmaiden but it turns out that Sook-hee and Hideko fall in love and this causes them both to betray Count Fujiwara. I mean, the moment Hideko backed out as she was about to be thrown into the asylum, it was predictable that the staff was gonna grab Sook-hee instead since Sook-hee was close to them and as we dive into part 2 of the film, we find out that Sook-hee getting locked up in the asylum was all a ploy all along. I knew instantly as I was watching part 2 that they were gonna lock up the Count in the madhouse and run away into the sunset and that was exactly what happened. The last 15-20 minutes was nothing but torture porn which could have been shortened but they drag the Count's torture to the point that it gets insufferable making you want the movie to end already since we already know the predictable outcome of the movie. Overall, I wouldn't say that this movie has a story to offer that will blow your mind but if you're into erotic dramas, then this one is for you despite its predictability. People are probably praising it because of the steamy lesbian sex scenes which might I add were splendidly done but other than that and the predictability of the revenge plot is nothing new.

Is it me or does Nagasawa Masami overact the hell outta herself on this show to the point that her facial expressions…
Lol I dropped the show because of her annoying over the top facial expressions of her character Dako. I cringe every time the camera focuses on her over excited facial expressions. Seems to me like her character belongs somewhere in an anime rather than in a drama considering how ridiculous it looks. I just could not deal with Nagasawa Masami's overacting. Her overacting got annoying to a point that I started disliking it. On top of that, the cons got predictable as the show progressed. Like in that one episode where they all con an old man to inherit his wealth by getting to know the code to his safe. I instantly knew that Nagasawa Masami's character hired the pretend brother and sister who claimed to be the original brother and sister when they fooled the other pair of con artists trying to do the same in regards to the old man. Either way, the cons get really predictable after a few episodes and when you've seen enough heist and con related movies and tv shows as I have, its not really hard to predict the con especially since the show is doing it in a con of the episode procedural fashion. Either way, it would have been better if the show had an overarching plot to pull off one con which spanned over the entire season than one con for every injustice or whatever other reason per episode. I would have kept watching the show despite its predictable cons had Nagasawa Masami's character Dako not been so over the top annoying and overacted. If you're into con related tv shows, might I recommend a better show (no offense) in Sneaky Pete. Bryan Cranston is one of the co-creators of the show and also plays the antagonist and the cons done are so unpredictable, you won't be able to guess how or when they pulled it off. I highly recommend watching Sneaky Pete if you're into the con/heist genre.

So I tried watching the remaining episodes and I dropped it at episode 7. I just could not deal with Nagasawa Masami's overacting. Her overacting got annoying to a point that I started disliking it. I like Nagasawa Masami but what is up with her over excitement?! It seems like her over excited facial expressions belong in an anime rather than a drama. Its just weirdly ridiculous seeing her make those ridiculous expressions on the show.

Aside from that, the show is kinda like a heist procedural where there's a mark each episode that they target since he or she wronged someone or did some injustice. At first, it seemed nice but after 5 episodes, it got redundant to the point that the cons got predictable. I feel like dropping the show. Don't know if its worth watching the remaining episodes.

Also, what is up with their silent man servant aka butler? I wish he had some speaking dialogues or character development on the show other than just making food and drinks for them. Lol
