On Junichi Nov 24, 2019
Title Junichi
This show is more of an anthology of different women with different stories who end up having sex or some sort of romantic relationship with one kid named Junichi. So when I decided to watch this show, I was really laughing as to how silly it was. The first episode features a pregnant woman who feels empty yada yada and when she goes to see the doctor regarding her baby with her husband at the clinic, all she can't stop thinking about is the new kid whom she met at her Tai Chi class. I was like WTF! This is so unrealistic. I mean seriously. This is not how real people operate. I can't even remember the face of a person I just met yet this chick is fantasizing about this kid whom she just met at the doctor's office. From that point on, I pretty much knew where this was going. Skimmed through the rest of the episode to see that they somehow end up having sex. How fucked up does your life have to be and how fucked up do you have to be as a person to cheat while you're pregnant. Infidelity is one thing but indifelity while pregnant takes it to a whole new level. And the sex happens just like that. There's no chemistry, no connection, just sex for the sake of the plot because what else is there to do when someone's pregnant than cheat right?! XD
Then I deicded to skim through the other episodes as well. And they all have the same theme. Some unhappy woman stumbles into this kid and this kid somehow ends up having sex with them. There's no nudity in this FYI, just pretend sex with minimal skin. If I had to sum up this drama in a few words it would be Japanese porn without the porn part. Its like a slow drama which somehow leads to sex with this one kid. Turn off your brain and throw logic out of the window. Glad I didn't waste my time with this so if you wanna watch what I just described, then be my guest. Otherwise skip it and save yourself the time of actually watching this illogical slow burn of a sex drama.

Title After My Death Spoiler
I liked the themes the film dealed with like grief, guilt, bullying and suicide but the ending was really empty and bland. It left so many things unanswered. Just when Young hee's friend confesses that her and kyung min had a fight and she basically confessed to provoking Young hee into killing herself. Then outta nowhere some random chick gets caught saying that she wanted Kyung min to die. Like WTF was the point of Young hee's friend's confession on that hospital bed? Also, why was Young hee or her friend or whoever encouraged her to kill herself not tried for her role in encouraging Kyung min to kill herself. I don't know about the laws in South Korea but in the States, thats second-degree involuntary manslaughter. Reminds me of this one blonde chick who looks a lot like Cara Delvingne whom I saw on the news who literally encouraged her boyfriend to kill himself via texts and phone calls. She got convicted for that as well. Also, the fact that Young hee wanted to kill herself throughout the entirety of the film gets redundant. She says that she wants to kill herself and the only time she does is when she drinks toxic fluids and damages her internal organs yet survives. When Young hee said that she was gonna complete killing herself via sign language, I was expecting her to die publicly in front of the whole school/class but nothing climatic happens. Instead, the two girls have a meeting with Kyung min's mother in an effort to trigger her by saying nasty things about Kyung min. And on top of that, Kyung min's mother tries to kill herself with a butter knife. I laughed at that. Another thing I laughed at was when Young hee confessed to the cops that Kyung min "stole" her idea of jumping of that bridge. I don't know why but this film wasn't dark at all to me. Sure, it had a dark topic but I didn't really feel emotionally attached to any of the characters to sympathize or emotionally connect with them. Maybe its because Young hee was painted as the one responsible from the get go. Maybe its because her ramblings to kill herself gets redundant or maybe its because I've seen way too much dark stuff on suicide and bullying but this doesn't even come close to touching the tip of the iceberg for me.The actress who plays Young hee aka Jeon Yeo-bin is 28 here playing a high school girl. Its crazy. Either way, this film was worth a one time watch.

Chun Woo Hee is such a beauty of a tremendous actress to watch. Wish someone would sub this soon.
On Nowhere Man Nov 4, 2019
Title Nowhere Man Spoiler
The cinematography was visually stunning. I just wish that there was more blood and violence in the show since this show could use them. Wish they pushed beyond the boundaries of PG-13. Which reminds me that there was that one fight scene where a group of thugs with knives attack Joseph Chang's character but despite having weapons, they kick. I was like WTF! Also, some thugs looked like they were trying to stab the air since they miss by a huge mile when they attack him with a knife. That whole scene was really ridiculous with each thug basically waiting for their turn one by one to get punched by our protagonist. Also, sometimes the show is edited in a way which makes you feel confused. Also, the finale episode left me feel unsatisfied. Like the villain couldn't shut up about his master plan and couldn't stop saying his villain monologue. I was expecting the protagonist to punch his lights out or hurt him in some manner considering how frustrating it was to sit through the villain's monologue but all we're left with is the protagonist crying dramatically on the villain's shoulders. Not to mention that that one scene where the villain makes one of the protagonist's buddies watch his unconscious girl get gangbanged by a bunch of people was something straight outta porn. Lol
I was even more confused by the end when he wakes up from a dream which begs the question of whether all of it was really a dream? Since his friends seem alive and well by the end of it. Nonetheless, it was a good show worth a watch despite its flaws.
On The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion Oct 31, 2019
The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion has the same old redundnatly predictable plot of "genetically engineered kids" which are used in superhero fiction. Logan's X-23 comes to mind when you think about the plot of this film however, unlike X-23, Ja-yoon turns into this unlikeable and arrogant villain by the end of the film which makes you feel unsatisfied by the end of the film at its conclusion. What I don't get is why they had to call this film "The Witch" because it has nothing to do with witches in the first place. "The Witch" is just a nickname they give Ja-yoon in the film. Not to mention how the title makes it sound like a horror film. The action has a lot of cuts which pretty much lets you know as a viewer that these actors aren't trained in doing convincing action scenes. Not to mention how Ja-yoon shoots with one hand without even taking proper aim or looking while aiming. Its like she's shooting on autoaim like they do in videogames. Lol And how can we forget the cliche villain monologue that the female scientist makes. I still don't know why she injected her with that serum that lets her accelerate her powers for one month. That has to be one of the stupidest thing I've seen a villain do in fiction. XD

I know these type of "genetically engineered kid with special powers" stories aren't exactly realistic but these guys aren't leaving one ounce of realism in this film. There's a reason why Logan was better (hell, its screenplay got oscar nominated) than this because not only are the characters better written and grounded on realism along with their "mutant abilities" but you feel a sense of danger for the Logan and X-23 as they are fighting off the villains in that film. Here, Ja-yoon is so overpowered to the point that you don't even care about the fight scenes because you know she's gonna predictably win by the end of the fights which she was dominating. Anyway, I would have liked this film better had there been any sense of unpredictability or danger with our main character Ja-yoon. Not to mention how much of a dick she turns out to be by the end of the film that you feel unsatisfied that she's still alive by the end of the film. Huge thumbs down from me.

Title Another Child Spoiler
I really liked this film but it felt weird to me that the girls would drink their cremated half-brother mixed with juice in the end. I was expecting them to scatter his ashes but that last bit felt kinda odd to me unless thats something cultural in South Korea. Excuse my ignorance but I would really like an explanation for that.

Apparently her first husband was a racist and she had problems with him...
Didn't he claim that she committed adultery on him? Wasn't that the reason they got divorced in the first place?

The humor in this movie is made for 12 year olds. Seriously, this movie fails as a horror comedy even though there's…
Could not agree more. Awful movie. Couldn't crack even the slightest smile at the generic jokes. Oh well, might as well rewatch Shawn of the Dead and since Zombieland 2 is coming out, might as well watch Zombieland as well. XD
On My Girlfriend is a Serial Killer Jul 31, 2019
As I read the synopsis, I thought this drama would be about suicide or depression only to find out that its about peeping through a hole and being a pervert. I haven't read the manga but am I wrong? This is me just interpreting the plot based on the synopsis given here by the way.

On a side note, Fukuhara Haruka is so damn pretty. Glad she's getting more lead roles. =)

" Is this some kind of threat? " Lmao! That statement reminded me of Brie Larson's "Is That a Personal Attack?" meme! XD
Its not a threat honey, its a piece of advice, No need to get triggered to go on a rant again after you read this. Listen, I'm honestly not gonna read your long rant since I stopped reading after "Is this some kind of threat?" so no offence but lets cut this chat right here and move on. Have a nice day! =)

I think K drama is not for you,try to watch mature K movies ,or stick to American shows i guess .
I did like mature shows like Mistress and Stranger (aka Forest of Secrets). But I personally can't stand cringy lovey dubby romance. Lol

I wouldn't call them overrated (not all of them at least) I completely understand what you are saying with the…
I've seen Stranger and My Mister tho but thanks for the other recommendations. =)
I do have a question tho and this is just me asking as a newbie to K-dramas. Since most K-dramas are directed towards women and hence why most of them have that lovey dubby romance with a heavenish filter and what not, what do the dudes in Korea watch on television since almost all shows have that romance element despite the genre. Take Hotel Del Luna for example. Its a supernatural horror but romance is the main genre of this show from the looks of it. American shows have all kinds of genres and don't focus on one genre alone but what does K-drama have for the male demographic? Or do men not watch K-dramas at all in Korea?
Again, this is me just me wondering as a noob. Lol

Read ammmz 's comment below and you'll see exactly what I meant and sure, dude. You're not butthurt. You keep telling yourself that as you talk down to me by telling me to "go back to watching American tv, Japanese tv, Anime or whatever"! XD
Your long triggered rant contradicts you saying that you're not butthurt. Either way, for future reference, try to be civil while talking to a stranger online. And read my comment again. I never criticized. I've seen others say stuff like "this drama drags" and so on. I was simply the messenger here making an observation and telling you about how they critique popular dramas which you automatically termed as "hating" since critiquing means hating on something. Either way, you're the sorta person who can't stand a difference of opinion from the small chat we had over the last couple of hours here. So, there's nothing left to talk. Its a pointless waste of time. Goodbye!

Well who are the biggest Chinese actress today? Zhao Liying, Dilireba, Yang Mi, Yang Zi, etc.Check on MDL here…
Being a newbie to Asian dramas, I think these lovey-dubby dramas is in Asian culture (be it Chinese, Korean or Japanese) since all of 'em have their share of that lovey dubby bubby drams. I mean no offense by this by the way. Just an observation I made as a newbie.

And I like how they use that heavenish filter for these lovey-dubby rom coms in dramas. Perfect example of this would be when Conan made a cameo on a K-drama, the filter makes his skin looks so soft. XD

Hahaha! Somebody seems to be triggered and butthurt. Easy on the attack there. No need to attack me based on an observation I made. Also, critiquing something doesn't mean hating as you put it. You really need to look up what the words "critiquing" and "hating" mean.
And carry on making assumptions about me as you like if that makes you feel superior behind a screen, oh noble keyboard warrior! Have a nice day! =)

Its just a drama....do you think video games are real too?
Thats a great life story. I have family members who married at that age as well during those times. I know its vague compared to what you mentioned but I don't really know the specifics of when they married and what not. Lol I liked the fact that you don't impose your ideals on others. You seem like someone I would love to be friends with in real life. Wish more people had your way of thinking but alas, thats not the world we live in. Just the other day as I was killing time on my phone waiting for the bus, I was pestered by some woman asking me "Have you heard the word of our good Lord Jesus Christ?!" I was like "No. Do I have to?!" with an annoying look on my face. -_-
I was raised Christian myself but I have always been agnostic so you can imagine my displeasure.
