AHHHHH JUST FINISHED IT AND I WANT MORE! I guess the movie will be featuring Boku's 400th lol
Is it me or does Nagasawa Masami overact the hell outta herself on this show to the point that her facial expressions look ridiculous/cringy at times when she's overacting?!

Because there are people who loves cliche romance just like in anime and kdramas. You know $$$$$.The setting is…
I do like how Japan explores all these themes and topics unlike Hollywood which mostly has superhero fiction as their blockbusters these days and K-dramas which are all about lovey dovey romances. One thing I've observed in K-dramas is that each plot is the same redundant love story plot over and over again. The poster for most K-dramas will either feature a guy and a girl or 2 guys and one girl or 2 girls and 2 guys. Meanwhile, Japan has these diverse plots in their dramas with unique posters which make you wonder what the hell the plot for the drama is all about! And speaking of Hollywood, I am glad that Japan doesn't give two cents about the SJW toxicity which has flooded western media today. These are some of the things I love about Japan. =)

Infidelity dramas are another genre I stay away from. Its like you're watching something just to torture yourself. Fine examples you gave there by the way but romanticizing or not, I can't see the appeal behind watching an underage schoolgirl/schoolboy fall in love with their adult teacher. but hey, thats just me. =)

Speaking of which, Japan doesn't really care about age when it comes to relationships (which I'm sure you know) so I'm not surprised that most teacher and student love stories are outta Japan. Hell, child porn was only illegal in Japan starting in 2014.

No offense but the whole student/teacher genre has creeped me out. Imagine how creepy it would be if this set in the real world and not a fantasized drama. An adult teacher falling in love with an underage student or vice-versa. Granted, I didn't check the tags for this show before watching it since I wouldn't ordinarily watch dramas within this genre. Lol

No offense to anyone who actually liked this show but the original Japanese show is far superior to this remake. =)

I am so full of myself? Takes one to know one. Besides, who even talked to you in the first place? I was simply leaving my opinion in the comments section because believe it or not, its not a crime to have a different opinion! Stick to your fantasized dramas, kid. Reality is probably way too harsh for you considering how you're trying to convince someone who clearly didn't like a show you like as to why it is so great. No need to drag this conversation. Keep liking your own pathetic comments, hell have all the teacher student relationships you want in the real world for all I care. Lets stop talking. This conversation is over!
On Mistress Apr 29, 2019
Title Mistress Spoiler
Mistress is a gripping mystery thriller which as the title suggests, revolves around the theme of infidelity or affairs or cheating, call it what you want. The show is written in a way to make you guess the mystery, the who killed whos and so on. Its quite the roller coaster ride of a show and normally, I'm not into shows which have infidelity as a theme. I think my favorite characters would be Se Yeon and Han Sang Hoon. I was shipping them the moment they met. I liked Se Yeong's character since she was the only girl out of the four who didn't have an immoral or adulterous sort of relationship. Although, we find out later that she was the mistress to the Chinese wife without the former even knowing about it. Now, on to Han Sang Hoon. I was rooting for our man Han Sang Hoon despite the show implicating that he is a killer and I was glad to find out that he was innocent and was very happy with the ending where he was alive. As I was watching everyone moving on with their lives after the murder incident, I was literally screaming at my screen "But what about Han Sang Hoon?" and jumped out of sheer joy when they revealed that he was alive. Kudos to the writers for the way that it was presented.

Now, as far as writing goes, the show is written well but there's a lot of plot armor in favor of the four girls. Off the top of my head, one plot armor would be the Chines wife killing and taking the blame for killing Kim Young Dae so that the girls can be proven innocent. Another situation would be when Se Yeon was dropped off in front of the police station by the Chinese wife with the cops surrounding her about to catch her, Han Jeong Won was just right there at the right time to rescue her from the cops. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that you feel no sense of danger for the lives of the four girls. Speaking of danger, I'm sure many were viewers like myself were worried about Han Sang Hoon''s life as he was tortured and held captive over the course of the last couple of episodes. It kinda pissed me off how they didn't go look for him any sooner but I suppose that since they weren't sure about Hoon Sang Hoon's motives, I can let that slide. I was frustrated when the two girls try to see if Hoon Sang Hoon was in the abandoned condominium. I literally screamed "INCOMPETENT!" as they were unsuccessful in finding him. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that throughout the later part of the show, I was very worried for Han Sang Hoon's life as opposed to the four girls despite them being manhandled by Kim Young Dae in the final scene of that abandoned condominium.

Speaking of the four girls, I disliked Han Jeong Won a lot simply because she had a one night stand with her fellow teacher just because of a falling out with her husband when her husband didn't even cheat on her that night. We do later find out that he did cheat on her but with a different woman (can't remember her name) but that was long ago. Either way, that doesn't justify her cheating on him with that fellow teacher of hers who turned out to be psychotic yandere until the moment Han Jeong Won's husband slapped the hell out him as it was revealed in the dash cam video. I was laughing out loud when Han Jeong Won was throwing tantrums accusing her husband of infidelity when she basically had sex with her teacher and got pregnant along with it when she didn't even know about her husband's infidelity. Talk about hypocrisy! Watching her psychologically suffer and be miserable was the only satisfaction I could attain from the show. I mean, seriously, if you're not happy with your husband, just get a divorce and then get impregnated by your fellow teacher and do whatever you want but she did all that one night stuff and when her husband asked to start over, she just went on and agreed to start over as if nothing's wrong. She was the creator of her own self-destruction. Sure, it ends with her being a single mother but the journey of her being a single mother was very entertaining due to how much I disliked the character.

On to the Doctor aka Kim Eun Soo who had a very interesting murder mystery arc. Her arc was very entertaining same as Se Yeon. I think these two girls' arcs are my favorite due to how relevant they are to the overarching plot as compared to the other two which kinda felt like side stories or sub-plot. Kim Eun Soo and her teacher's son investigate as to who killed the teacher she had an affair with. The only negative in this arc would be the writers teasing Kim Eun Soo and her teacher's son as a ship. I'm glad they weren't a couple by the end because that would be sort of disturbing. If that did happen, she could actually use the phrase "but thats not how your dad used to do it!" Haha!

Moving on, I found Do Hwa Young's arc to be nothing more than a filler. Her whole arc with the glasses wearing married guy was just could be skipped and didn't contribute much to the main plot as much as Se Yeon and Kim Eun Soo's arcs did. Also, the glasses guy rejects Do Hwa Young's offer to sleep with him saying that she hasn't changed only for him to sleep with her out of the blue the next night. Like what the actual fuck?!
Overall, the show was intense, thrilling and very binge-worthy. Not to mention the mystery surrounding the story. It keeps you guessing and wanting for more. The investigation didn't really make sense at some points in the story but despite its flaws, its a solid show. Great acting, beautiful cinematography and an amazing score!

However, I wish they didn't have to ruin the moment of closure during the final minutes of the show with that phone call and the person behind it. I doubt we'll get a season 2 due to its low ratings. Here's hoping there's a season 2. Cheers! =)

I get it that you loved this drama about a kid scoring with his teacher (since that really happens in real life, I'm being sarcastic FYI) which has been done numerous times in Japanese media but I don't understand why you can't accept the fact that I dislike this drama. Especially the whole age gap thing. Japan doesn't give two cents about things like these. Hell, child pornography was made illegal in Japan just recently in 2014 so I can understand why they keep pumping out stuff like this. Its cool that your family members have an age gap as well but do they have a 14 year age gap like this one tho? And from the way you're talking about relationships, I'm guessing you're quite inexperienced when it come to relationships. I wouldn't be surprised if the most experience you have when it comes to relationships is from watching dramas. No offense. And my reviews are irrelevant? And yet you took the time to reply to my comment when nobody asked you to. You're literally contradicting your own statement. XD

Also, Japan is one country where most couples cheat on each other despite staying married so the Japanese aren't really setting an example when it comes to being love or matrimony. Cheating while being committed in a relationship or in a marriage is whole thing in Japan. Couples are staying married to avoid adding "divorcee" to their social status. Here, watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENscSDOsodE

Listen, I don't know how old you are but life isn't as all melodramatic and lovey and dovey when it comes to relationships. Especially relationships which involve an age gap. Passion fades away with time. No matter how lovey dovey a couple is. The sooner you realize that life isn't a drama, the better. Either way, if you don't realize it now, then later on when that realization does hit you like a ton of bricks, I want you to think of me and me warning you about it. Lol Cheers =)

Thing is, I didn't really look into the whole genre of the show when I started watching it. That was my bad, I do admit that. But why have a reverse harem when its fairly obvious right from the start that the student is gonna end up with the teacher. Its simply redundant and pointless to show these guys competing for this one chick when the viewers already know what the final outcome of it all will be. A harem is supposed to keep the viewers guessing on who the protagonist is gonna end up with rather than be this obvious. This is like Nisekoi all over again. As for my opinion, its not gonna change whether its based on a manga or whether you like it. Sorry it break this to you but not everyone is gonna like what you like so you've gotta accept the fact that everyone feels differently about every pieces of fiction whether you like it or not. Just like how I can't understand how people like you love the whole student/teacher relationship genre in drama fiction since its creepy af to me due to the age gap and what not. And besides, this is pure fantasy, whats gonna happen when she grows old and he's still in his late 20s or early 30s, he's gonna feel like he's with an old woman at that age since she's like 10 years older than him. I know these dramas are all pure fantasy and all but I wish they actually showed the reality of such relationships. Like a show about a couple with a 10 year age difference struggling to make their marriage work, now thats a show I'd see without all this fantasy drama which deludes people into thinking that its all happy ending once people get together. Relationships are more than just overdramatic crying confessions and happy endings. The sooner you realize that, the better. No offense. =)
