PERFECTION! I rarely give a 10/10 but I love this show so much. I was super hyped when it aired and I return yearly for a rewatch. The show deserves more attention. I hope more people will give it a chance despite the overshadowing of the Remake. You won’t regret watching it. The synopsis is perfectly written, the chemistry is one of a kind, the whole mood feels so natural and the characters are all so lovely. In addition, you get some creative and epic moments that will make you feel many emotions. Have fun watching the TDrama!

Well, the first half was okay and had some nice additions but the second half of this show was so unsatisfying (compared to the first half and not the Original.) For pathos dialogues they suddenly included logic mistakes and overall it felt like they cut the dramatic scenes pretty short in favor of the romance aspect. So I can’t help but miss a deeper perspective on some characters, especially Minju and her family.

Thus, the show is a well done remake but can’t beat the excitement level of the Original for me at all. I was too emotionally attached to the characters, actors and story telling. While the Taiwanese show get pretty realistic and natural outside the supernatural story, this felt like a typical kdrama. I guess it depends on personal preferences.

To sum up, the remake is a soft version of SOMEDAY OF ONE DAY with many added popular tropes. They really rewrote all my favorite scenes of epic moments and made them generic - in a sense of not bad at all but more like watching it not for the first time in kdrama land. Also I didn’t like some major changes in the second half compared to the Original. So it’s a decent watch but not perfection for me. I like it more with society critic in general.

I can recommend to watch both. I hope you’ll give both a shot when you fell in love with one version. No matter which one was your first. You won’t regret it. :)

PS.
Now I’m excited for the Chinese remake which will be partially historical. Let’s see when it will air.

One of the most boring shows I've seen in a long time. Dropped after finishing episode 2. Nothing happens. Lots…
I agree. It really can shake hands with HELLBOUND which was equally nauseating.

I was sceptical about the show for two valid reasons:
1. I love SOMEDAY OR ONE DAY so much that it’s hard to compete with it. On the other hand I like to view all versions on its own terms like I did with the HANA YORI DANGO franchise.
2. The last kdrama remakes from mandarin language dramas have been horrible and made me vary.

Because my friends convinced me to start it, I gave it a shot. From my first impression it’s well done. I like that it sticks to the original story but really did its own thing within the story. It’s interesting to see the circumstances fitted to Korea compared to Taiwan. Either way I like this version and feel it’s a worthy remake - but I still think the Taiwanese original is unbeatable and the best.

For now, I’d say I give it a rating 8/10 (SOOD had 10/10). It’s a decent rating because of the quality. I’m still in the first half and I’ll give my final impression later when I finished the show.

Please watch this movie. It’s a great Joseon thriller and I felt perfectly entertained from start to finish. I can only recommend it.

I watched for Shin Ha Kyun but the movie was underwhelming. Totally over the place and also without compass. It felt like they wanted to create a unique story but didn’t realize the lingering unanswered questions hanging over the characters and with the big reveal everything felt like a useless not fitting lie. It’s a pity!

I thought it’s the usual cliche sports drama but I was so invested in the film that I ended up being excited during the games like I am during my local Basketball games. Yes, I love Basketball but I also vibes with all characters. The story might not be surprising but the storytelling is beautiful and the characters lovely. I really can say that I loved the film with all my heart. Please more Basketball dramas for me!

Entertaining Action flick with female power, underlying LGTBQ+ topic, identity struggles and espionage euphemism. It was indeed a treat to watch but don’t take it as realistic.

It was a heartwarming musical with many great songs and a good insight into the era of the independence movement. I really enjoyed the movie.

LOL! I laughed so hard reading this just now because of your "Cruz/Alonzo" and ""Kathniels"! Mostly because I…
Happy you understood me! ;)

Predictable synopsis. But I loved the cinematography. It’s been fun and some jump scared worked pretty good for me - maybe because I watched it in a loud Myeongdong cinema. Nice cast, good sequences, it’s enough for me to overlook some plot mistakes.

The synopsis is all over the place and jumps wildly around. The idea isn’t bad but somehow something was missing for me. Maybe it’s because I can never warm up to Sci-Fi content. I don’t know. However, the whole slow paced drama had its moments but felt like an eternity. I thought it will never end. I think it’s the Blue Filter issue which always decreases my mood. Either way I won’t complain about the far fetched storyline because that’s the genre for me.

Very slow placed drama about the SARS outbreak. If you go out of this movie and appreciate the hard work of doctors and nurses, it’s already a win. Feels like a calm SLICE OF LIFE film. If you like it, go for it.

Way too realistic for my taste. For the exact same reason I dislike the SLICE OF LIFE genre. Well, well, well… I just watched it because I watch all new filo releases on Netflix. Carlo was charming as always. Lovi was cute but she also had some moments where I was too embarrassed to watch. Poor girl had to act these moments. I feel for her.

Nah, it’s fun! If you appreciate filo movies you’ll like this one too. For me it’s on the level of the old Cruz/Alonzo pairing if you know what I mean. Slow development and then the emotional hammer pierced to you heart.

Oh, for the younger gens: it has the happiness level of Kathniels THE HOWS OF US. See! Now you know what I mean with my first sentence, right?! If you can stand that, go for it!

I watched the movie on Netflix because I can never resist Filipino romances and especially with Aquino as lead.

The story was cute and had its moments. The ending was okay as well. Overall it feels like they’ve been out of ideas for the closure. Maybe it’s just me. If you read that please tell me your interpretation. I’m curious.

I really enjoyed the movie. The synopsis is misleading because you might expect a horror movie in the stil of THE HOST. But it’s nothing like it.

It’s a slow paced realistic drama about children who pay for the sins of their parents, ostracizing, bullying and class differences. It’s a well done movie with beautiful cinematography and an amazing performance of the male lead.

I still don't know why this poster's I mean it wasn't a light drama or something it should be rather a bit dark…
Thought the same for real.
