He felt that he deserved that punishment from her and he was seeking it out. TM is very hard to read, because it seems that he knows something that we as viewers are not privy to and that is frustrating lol

For sure! TMS never saw that ellusive love in NXY's life, instead he saw suffering, so I am sure he will be like "Well, that was a massive waste of time🙄, I was right all along!💅"

I think this is where the argument of nature vs nurture comes in, which is more impactful in the development of a persona? I agree NXY and TMS are the "same people" and they have similar innate natural traits (like obsession) BUT because of their lived experiences (nurture), I believe they have different personalities. You know what I am getting? I'm not sure if I am explaining myself well😅.
I think as the eps roll in, Wang Dou will do a good job in demonstrating what I am talking about with regards to the big differences in these "two men".

I disagree, NXY would never treat Feng Yao badly, but I have a feeling TMS will. When NXY was at his peak in power and could beat almost anyone, he was the nicest person ever. He was friends with everybody in the cultivation world and was famous for being a gentleman. Power didn't make him dark. His darkness only came in after the whole "incident" when he was betrayed, tortured, left powerless, crippled, and dependent on medicine.
TMS on the other hand does not take sh*t from anyone he deems weaker/lower than him, does not smile and he is not going to be sweet in any way whatsoever. It's his way or the highway.

I dont think they have the same personality at all, and you will see in the show how much more ruthless TMS is compared to NXY. NXY is a puppy compared to the Book of Fate.
I wonder if NXY is really dead or if he is just dormant in his head. It would be interesting if they go with a plot similar to a possession where the two identities fight for control. Like NXY wakes up to the horrors that have ocurred since he has been "gone" and tries to wrestle the body from TMS just for enough time to kill himself and him.
I think both are great. Just nxy is a little better than ml based on his acting and interaction with fl alone…
