The synopsis is lowkey confusing... why does he wear a mask/have lightning powers??
I've read the book. Female lead (Li shuang) is a general and she saves a young man whom she found in the forest unconscious. He has amnesia and she gives him a new name. She names him "Jin An" and she keeps him as a soldier in her military camp. Jin An has supernatural powers and is half man half deamon but he tries to hide his powers from other people. So he pretends to be a ordinary man . Everyday he trains with his fellow soldiers as if he's an ordinary man like any other. But whenever his beloved general Li Shuang (female lead) is in danger , Jin An wears his black mask and rushes into her rescue. He doesn't want her to know that he has demonic/supernatural powers. He uses his powers to save her whenever is needed and then he disappears, takes off his black mask, comes back at her military camp and pretends that nothing happened. Poor Jin An is scared that if ever General Li Shuang find out he's a demon , she'll kick him out of her life. That's why he wears this black mask whenever he uses his powers in front of her. He is in love with her because she rescued him and he dreams that one day she might notice him and love him back. He has amnesia and he's half human half demon but he used to be a king when he was younger. His relatives betrayed him , fed him a magic poison and turned him into a monster and also caused him amnesia. Now the only thing he remembers is the day General Li Shuang found him in the woods and saved him. He's obsessed with her and loves her deeply. He hides his superpowers from her because he's scared of loosing her . As the time progresses, she finds out that he's the mysterious man with the black mask whom saved her so many times. Everyone hates him and calls hims a freak or a monster but general Li Shuang respects him and treats him like a family.

So we basically had a happy ending only for an alternative universe and for our universe we got a bittersweet ending were she reunites with bai Jiusi but she doesn't manage to save her son or prevent the catastrophe. Shjt ..... 😭
What happened to their child at the end ? (After watching ep32 we know that Yue changed the past. She gave birth to her son but this time she had bai Jiusi by her side and they remained together as a couple during their staying at the mortal realm) But.... What happened after the end of the love tribulation? Yue wakes bai Jiusi from his sleep and she says that the tribulation is over. So their son is alive in the immortal realm? Or their kid was only a dream and existed only inside the love tribulation and it doesn't exist in the immortal realm? Did she got her son back or only bai Jiusi? Or maybe all the changes that goddess Yue made by travelling in the past , created a parallel universe were everything was perfect and then she returned to her own universe were everything was bad.
