Yeah, The only role I didn't like in season one was her, I loved Fan Xian's Chemistry with Hai Tang Duo Duo though, I wish they were the main couple, they were perfect for each other.

No, it's not just you, I saw that too. last time I checked It wasn't like this, I wonder what happened.

It has a really happy and satisfying ending, It's really worth a watch, but I won't spoil the ending for you, I think you should just watch it. Since you don't mind spoilers I will tell you that It had a death toward the end that was unnecessary, didn't make sense and pissed me off a bit, but the rest of the drama was well made.

Fangyin was the most innocent and kind girl in this whole series, her death was unjust and totally unnecessary, the writers screwed up this scene because they just wanted this episode to have a stronger emotional impact, otherwise, this scene didn't make much sense.
Firstly, based on how skilled and quick Dao Qin was, he had several chances where he could've shot Zhou YinZhi, as soon as they entered the door he had a few seconds which would've been enough for him, and as soon as Zhou YinZhi pushed Fangyin and was about to run, instead of throwing his sword, Dao Qin had enough time to shoot him with his bow, we had seen how quick and skilled he was with that bow.
Secondly, Fangyin herself was loyal, but she was also very smart, so it didn't make much sense that such a smart girl would try to stop him, She should've known that Dao Qin and even her own husband would be skilled enough to chase after him and kill him.
And thirdly, Zhou YinZhi was a smart character too, in that scene he could've just wounded Fangyin and escape, there was no reason for him to kill her in front of people who cared deeply for her, He should've known that if anything happened to her they would definitely avenge her. Anyway, this was a totally unnecessary death and it really pissed me off, I really liked Fangyin, She didn't deserve this end after everything she went through. I don't understand why writers of these dramas sometimes make smart characters act so stupid and out of character.

Episode 37 really pissed me off. What are your thoughts on that episode, because it contains spoilers, I've explained why in the reply to my own comment.

The best ones have already been recommended, but there are a few with smart female leads, and a few older ones which you've probably watched but I'll still recommend them.

I had only watched the first 8 episodes of part 1, now I finally have time to watch the rest. I looked at the comment section from time to time to get a general sense of where the story was going and whether it would be a happy or sad ending and I wasn't going to watch it if it was sad. since it's a happy ending I'm going to watch it, but I have one question before I start.
Somebody in the comment section did not put it under a spoiler tag and mentioned that gil chae got married. How can there be a happy ending then, did she get a divorce, what exactly happened, I need to know this much at least, so can someone let me know what happens with as few spoilers as possible, I'm just not sure yet whether to watch it or not.

You're right that what you mentioned here doesn't spoil part 2, by @LucyL was right to ask you put in under a spoiler tag. one of my friends who watched the last 2 episodes of part 1 before me, told me not to watch those episodes, and so I've only watched the first 8 episodes of part 1 and I've been waiting for the drama to end and then watch it, I came here just now to see whether it had a happy or sad ending and your comment was the first one I saw. Of course I know there's no way you could've known some people may not have watched part 1, but it can happen. So please be a bit more careful in the future.
