Thanks for the suggestions, I'll definitely check them out. I've watched the round up series though and I really liked them, I've just forgotten to add them to my completed list, but I haven't watched the rest.

That's too good to be true, they haven't even released a trailer yet, but here's hoping. there aren't a lot of dramas I'm excited for these days, once Joy Of Life ends, I won't have anything else on my watchlist for some time.

That's great news, it will probably be released next year though, let's hope at least Weak Hero Class 2 is released by the end of this year, they are quite similar and I loved both of them.

It was really good, the female lead was pretty smart, it was somewhat similar to weak hero class 1, but some people didn't like the ending much, I personally liked the ending, it wasn't a cliffhanger, and it left the possibility of another season open, it was also closer to reality.

That's great to know, 1 episode per day wasn't enough.

I thought episode 19 would be released with good subs today, what a nice surprise that episode 20 was also released today.

This perspective also makes sense, I guess we will know more about their motives and fears as new episodes air, and It's also definitely worth a re-watch, So once it finishes airing, I'll binge watch this season again, I'm sure I'm missing quite a few details as I'm watching it episode by episode.

That's interesting, I haven't read the novel, there's still a lol of the story left, so we'll know at the end how close the drama will be compared to the novel. I plan to read the novel after I've finished watching season 3 (hopefully in the very near future).

The last sentence 2nd prince said "My life is on the line, I haven't been this excited for so long", In my opinion, he is fooling himself, he may say these words but he is actually afraid and his pride doesn't allow him to admit this to himself.
2nd Prince values his life more than anything, and his greatest fear is dying, If I remember correctly in his letter to Fan Xian at the end of season 1, he said that if members of Royal family lose, they don't just lose their future or a career, they lose their life, so he is really afraid of dying.
I don't believe Fan Xian actually poisoned him, but what he did was planting the seeds of doubt and fear in his mind, Fan Xian acted like a crazy person who doesn't fear anything or anyone, he's being very unpredictable, like what kind of crazy person would even think about let alone dare to poison a prince in front of so many other people, In front of another prince. I think this will be the 1st important step in defeating the 2nd prince, because once a person begins to fear their opponent, they've already lost, they just don't know it, he may act like he's not afraid and keep saying "it's interesting", but in my opinion, he's actually afraid of Fan Xian at this point.

Episode 12 was truly remarkable, I'll write my thoughts about the end of this episode in the next comment since it contains spoilers, let me know what you think about this episode.

Open the Chinese soft subtitle with "subtitle edit", then under auto-translate tab, click on "auto-translate", from there you can choose one of the options from the drop-down menu on the upper left corner, and then hit translate and after that save the new file.
I actually did that with "Google Translate V1 API" which is free and doesn't require an API key (though it probably doesn't do a good job translating), If you have ChatGPT API key, you can use that from the drop-down menu, since that would certainly give you a better translation.

Yeah, I don't really understand what some people expect from this, it's not everyday such a great drama comes along, I was getting tired of all the superficial new dramas being released, finally a great, well thought-out drama airs, and people keep complaining.
Dramas like Joy of Life, Nirvana in Fire, Rise of Phoenixes, Story of Ming Lan, these kind of stories are very rare, I'm always looking for similar ones, but often fail to find them.

Going nowhere??? If you were a fan of the 1st season, this is a continuation of that same story, at first he moved to the capital for two reason, one because of his curiosity since he'd never seen the capital, and second because someone wanted to kill him, so he wanted to find out who it was and why. After some time he satisfied his curiosity and even wanted to go back to where he grew up in with his sister, but after his friend was assassinated, he decided to stay and take revenge, now he finally knows it was 2nd prince who was behind the murder of his friend, so one of his motives is to take revenge on 2nd prince, and he also has the purpose of following on his mom's footsteps, he's trying to uphold justice for the weak, he's trying to eliminate corruption, he's trying to show everyone that the the weak and powerful are equal.
I don't know how you can say it's going nowhere, but hey, to each his/her own, if you don't like it, just drop it.
