It took me several attempts to watch Untamed. At that point I'd never read the novel, or watched the donghua. The first time I stopped at ep 2. Months later I started over and stopped at episode 12. The character names was EXTREMELY hard to keep up with, (there actually is a character name chart out there. If I find it I'll post it here) but it was of little help to me.
What helped honestly was watching the fan make "crack" videos (compilation of the best moments of a show). I binged quite a few one random night and 2 days later I'd watched all 50 episodes of the Untamed. I read portions of the novel afterwards to fill in the blanks.
I definitely appreciate your review for it's honesty and understand where you're coming from... despite the short comings I still found the show quite enjoyable once I really got into it. I think it helps that I've watched similar Chinese dramas in the past and understood the basic concept of a golden core.
Did Jim break up with his girlfriend... because if not WTF?
I didn't like that either... however not the same standard (he said he was joking) Jim could do with that confession what he wants. However when Jim confessed to Ben what's the goal here? He's still in a relationship.
You have to really look because there's a light flash that almost covers it up. So when they are walking away in their suits... watch their hands in the middle.
Will be an unpopular opinion.I loved the cameo of Cai and Gav, however, it did feel like a piece of fan service…
You're not wrong. I think that's what it was... Both actors are part of other projects at the moment so I do think they were only available for a quick cameo

TBH I was more worried about Ben being hurt here vs Yana. He's putting Ben in a very unfair situation... I guess we will see what he actually does in the upcoming episode. The blurb on this series however doesn't give hope for a HE
I cannot understand how this was done with such perfection... the emotions, the ost, the cinematography... I'm…
Epic doesn't even begin to describe it. Nadao posted the documentary for the making of ep 4. I just watched it and DAMN... The amount of thought and work they put behind this is simply BRILLIANT!

He's reserving Ben. Telling him not to look at others because "you're mine" all the while he's in a relationship.
Quite a lot... especially with Adachi's reaction in ep 5
