I don't think this will be more heart wrenching and I am more than half way through it. Si Feng is still the champion of suffering, some warranted but some suffering was partly/mostly his fault - but that's a discussion for another page and another day.

Towards the end I was referring to SH and useless 1 and Ha Jun as useless 2. All they kept saying was we have to stop her. we need to stop her....

When we first meet Shang Gu she is a little bit of a spoilt brat because she was supposedly the Chief god but didn't have the power to back it up. So she couldn't really do anything and the other true gods spoilt her rotten because they felt bad that she was so weak and yet she was destined to be in charge of not just all of them but all of life as they know it. It isn't until she meets Bai Jue and he doesn't put up with any of her rubbish that she gets her act together. If you notice Houchi is not as cocky as Shang Gu was, she doesnt have the same true god support system that Shang Gu had so she is ever aware of how weak she is in a world that only respects strength and the need to remain neutral as her father wanted it. That has always helped to put a reign on the stubbornness that is so much a part of her.

Random thoughts I had.

Think of it this way - There is no urgency because they have all the time in the world. Beings that can only keep a check on their power by how much they increase in power over time have a lot of time on their hands for foolishness. They are basically teenagers who didn't really have much to do other than try to one up each other. It's a world which only respects strength.

Gu Juan came to the heavenly emperor and Wu Han's wedding with an egg and claimed that Wu Han is its mother when she wasn't. He wanted Houchi to be born with the protection of having 2 god parents. Chances are that Houchi is not his daughter either. I guess, it kind of makes sense why Wu Han hates Houch especially with her being so weak too. Wu Han has never treated weak people with due respect even before she was heavenly empress.

They all do that double take because they look so much like them but heavenly emperor even tested Qing Mu and found that he didn't have the spiritual root of Bai Jue so he concluded that they just look alike.
