is it bad if I really don't remember what the drama was about....I finished it a while back and took time off to collect thoughts so I can write a review or comment about the drama's impact yet for life of me can't even recollect what the drama was all about...I guess it shows that the story and characters didn't make enough impact to stand out....
it was ok....i mean all the fluffy and light feelings were ok...i guess i'm not fangirl/boy-ing enuff to go crazy for the fl that was crazy over EXO....to nitpick from the show...really liked D.O's characterization overall...i guess he had major advantage over the rest as he had major interest in acting as a career choice...I mean love the visuals of EXO but that can do so much to carry the story so far.... Suho's story arc was also interesting and Sehun and the brothers queerbaiting moments were to die for......lol
the biggest queer baiting bullshit ever....especially because it was all imaginative...along that it became increasingly annoying to tolerate the FL in her state..Also came to realization that because its dramaland/webtoonland.... double standard becomes the norm. I mean its alright for a 20+ female to size up minors while its a no-no for said minors to do the same. Or vice versa no way in hell is it suitable for 20+ male to size up minors. I mean really KOREA...choose 1 and stick to it because its becoming a gray scale color book with the nitpick shit....no to LGBT tolerance yet love to do queer baiting and innuendos....not sure if this webtoon indicating that its ok to be haughty and become borderline perverts....FML..might just be reading way to much into things...ok...
My poor Seungyun. You and Ahoon were the only bearable characters this season, and you were both relegated to…
I also agree that Seungyun and Yeondoo is more compatible as a couple just like Junho is the most compatible to Yeondoo between Seungyun and Hyunho regardless of Season 1 or Season 2. What season 2 managed to pull out was make Hyunho feel pathetic of himself and aggressively brings out his inferiority complex that showed up in season 1.
If one argues that he changed for the better person because of Yeondoo, it could be countered that he was already the better person himself before even meeting Yeondoo through his relationship with his friends. I mean he was friends with the best student in the school (Junho), he had an amazing supportive best friend like Jisung, along with the support of a female friend like Seol. So in all honestly Yeondoo was not a needed factor to Hyunho life except in the romantic aspect that was developed from season1. Even that aspect nearly destroyed Hyunho relationship to his friends. It clearly put Hyunho on an already shitty end with authoritative figures (teachers).
In episode 15 when Ara said that without Yeondoo using Hyunho picture to stiff-off Jisoo the two would never come to meet was the absolute truth. The two would never even get involved and by all accounts Hyunho would never have encountered the ups and downs he went through in his relationships either with his friends or with Yeondoo. The writers did play it exceptionally well to use such an angle to build the story of this drama from season1 but absolutely bombed to developed it further for season2.
I can see that pretty much there is a consensus that this season is a mess right up the ass with little to no interest in character development of the returning season 1 characters. While that mess unfolds into a clutter of nothingness, there is also a landslide consensus that there story development absolutely went to no where continuing from season 1. However the writers and production team managed to sweep in new characters to the mess that kinda make things interesting but not really!?!?!?
I mean they brought in another male character to create a love triangle rivalry. Hello ya'll did that with Junho and Hyunho in Season 1. A one sided love angle between Yuna and Seunghun, well gosh thanks for repeating that from season 1 with Jisoo and Yeondo. A female character to stir the pot and create another possible love triangle, well thanks for recycling the season 1 girl-boy-girl trifecta of Seol-Hyunho-Yeondoo. They even brought in another Jisung character (Ahoon) which up to episode 15 played the part of reminding everyone of Jisung and then he went on to play the side character to Seunghun duo. Well thanks guys that was just a recycle of Jisung's role to Hyunho and Junho. I guess the only refreshing story arc here is that of Ara as the villain which seems to be the main focus and emphasis of season 2. Although there seems to be a lot of hate directed to Ara because of what she is doing to the main leads but I find myself feeling that the hate is being misdirected because everyone loves the original characters of season 1 and the additional 2nd male lead of season 2.
The thing is, Ara is such a profound character to be able to manipulate multiple persons into her hands and be consistent till she was caught...and even up to that point she was digging her grave deeper until Jisoo showed up....She is such a great character that to hate her on a deep level just proves how stupid one could really be. She was able to psycho analyze all of these weak minded lead characters and ruined them for her own purpose. Although she didn't get what she wanted in the end like her boy friend back but she still managed to create havoc between (idiot 1) Hyunho and (idiot 2) Yeondoo relationship playing into Seunghyun's feelings towards Yeondoo. She went further in totally misleading (idiot 3) Jisung into a fake relationship creating herself a cover to create more opportunities to mess with the leads. Further she managed to create a rift in Yeondoo and (idiot 4) Yuna's friendship by manipulating Yuna's one sided imaginary love towards Seunghyun who wanted absolutely nothing to do with her. Ara was able to put Seol in check when she behind the scenes messed with the Seol's classmates who lost a photo.
I know that Ara's character is mean and bitchy for what she was doing but in reality she is one of the best and strongest person there is in this drama. She managed to pull all of that together through her scheming without batting an eye to care for others feelings because she prioritize herself and her own feelings. Which in this series or season was all that each character present were doing for themselves (Hyunho-Yeondoo, Seunghyun-Yeondoo, Yuna-Seunghyun, Jisung-Ara, Seol-Junho) was getting their feelings recognized and acknowledged by their person of interest. Ara's methods are not really of the extreme to what happens in the real world because we all know we've done far worse for of little reason. So I really don't find her annoying or bad in this sense.
Those whom I really find annoying are the ones who don't know better but to follow and being lead by the nose around by Ara. Now those are the real idiots whom anger should be directed towards. No matter how scheming and conniving one person can be, it comes down to those who are being wrapped into the ploy to get their heads out of their asses and think for themselves. Seol was the only person to read Ara for who she is and what her capabilities were and constantly trying to get the others to see that. While these idiots just push her off as being jealous or paranoid due to her history with Yeondoo. So it only serves them right to suffer the wrath of Ara's revenge schemes because they were to stupid to recognize what a force she is to be reckoned.
Im barely starting off with this drama and already I want to drop it.....its seems to be draggy for no reason, cliche and cringe up the arse already....the dubbing if there is is just beyong horrible....and im pretty sure that english in Barcelona is more Spanish accent over the American....
There are just too many things to ridicule and to wrap ones head around to accept this cdrama already....lets not even punch it out with so many holes in the story line already and characterization....and here I am just at episode 4 guys.....Am i reading too much into this cdrama?
i don't know what is it but i couldn't make it pass episode 5....was the romance overly hyped....I came here to follow SJK and Kim Minseok's drama career but couldn't hold out at all....there were interesting plots so far but it wasn't enough to save this drama from the dropped box...ugh..
the hype for this drama proved too much for it.....its was a big "MEH" all the way through...shouldv'e just made it a romance drama instead...like so many romances spouting left and right with multiple love triangles and I'm here thinking i thought it was going to be action packed wuxia with some great dialogue and problem solving...nope it was all about the romance...like WTF...but that's just me...
anyhow not even thinking of about finishing this drama as its already episdoe 30 and I still don't know or understand where the direction of story and plot line is heading...along the same lines don't even know if the characters along with the actors are worth the investment....its a first for me not to care or invest in actors because usually i would find them interestinga nd follow through with their career but not this one...all I'm thinking is why did they waste time...
OK..say hello to the drop box....
but i encourage others to watch it for your own personal taste and opinion..just that I'm done with it already..
OK...upfront honesty, had to do a whole lotta skipping because it became annoying and bothersome to watch an irrelevant character (FL) that played absolutely no role in developing the storyline but become the biggest pain and hinderance to such a good plot. Anyhow, it was interesting to see the story developed and concept of crossdressing for the male character as its mostly done by female characters so far with KDrama's I've watched.
The casting was on point as the leads excluding the female lead and supporting characters carried out their roles perfectly. I have to give it to the supporting characters as they kinda took away the spotlight from the main leads which is sad considering that the female lead did nothing but plot a revenge that never happened. The tags of strong female lead do not apply to this drama as the supporting female characters suited the tag. Wanted to point out that the male lead was over the top beautiful as he was able to shame the female lead in both male and female costumes.
The drama could've been shorten to 20 or less episode if they didn't try so hard to developed that dry ass romancce that was just unsightly. Also there were so many scenes that didn't make sense or could've been due away with as it really wasn't that interesting or serve any purpose to supporting the main plot. It become a bit repeatative and slow along the mid episodes because of lack of focus towards main plot when exploring subplots.
The ending was very unsatisfying as there were characters that made it to the end of the series who should've died in the first few episodes like the female lead and other characters that died too soon when their story arcs served purpose to the overall story line (boss of the female assassin group, chancellor, etc). Also it was unsatisfying to see the king being dethroned in that manner the prince getting his way. But hey its KDramaland and you could just get away with everything in that sense.
i know its dramaland and about every nonsenscial shit happens here..but this drama is just beyond nonsense...regardless of how pretty the actors and actresses are you just can't wrapped your mind around stupid when it calls for it..from romance to the parallel univers...i mean its called parallel yet everything they do in this drama go against the concept of parallel....so yeah thanks but to teh dropped box you go at episdoe 5.....
ok with the high rating and misleading praiseworthy comments this disaster of a drama was not even up to par at all...wanted to puke after the 2nd episode and couldn't even take it further....
hands down one of the best teen/high school oriented dramas ever....the story line and sub plots were well explored and well written. Although there were some draggy scenes and moments the writers and team did a fabolous job to hold onto the audience all the way through. Managed to binge this drama in a day and was not disappointed at all.
From casting to portral of characters and exploring of realities that are faced in traditional society and the culture within learing environments from students to the highest level. This drama did not disappoint once. I was loving every minute of it.
Really wanted to highlight the cast with the exception of the daughter because everyone did a brilliant job....
its my 3rd time trying to watch this drama and still can't make it up to episode 10...I'm struggling just to by pass episode 8....JiSoo and HynSik are some of my fave actors yet I can't for the life of drama world get through this series....
they already hinting at romance subplot between Tong and Aha....which became annoying real quick..i'm at episode…
really.....i think im at episode 20 and there are lingering hints to romance.....not sure how long it'll take for them to drop it considering i'm here at 20 episodes already...
At first I thought the name of the series was cute and then while watching it up to episode 5 thus far, I've come to an early conclusion that although its stereotypical of society to judge beauty standards it can't be help to make someone beautiful to certain extent when they are just not it. I'm all for being yourself and by all means snip yourself up if you feel that you need to get the beauty standard that you want. But if your'e not mentally prepared or mentally stable to become that of the ideal beauty you should just stay UGLY.....
I'm only at episode 5 and I'm gushing at all the pretty and handsome faces. Seeing that of Soo Ah being portrayed as a villain but the reality is that she is smart enough to manipulate the situation to her beauty. Yet I'm here baffaled by how thorugh it all the female lead is just not cut out for the beauty standard of normality she wanted from her surgery. So in the end just stay UGLY please.
On to other contents being discussed so far (Ep 5), bullying became an issue due to the social norm of beauty standards both for male and female. Which I guess worldwide is a reality and to a cultral stand point for S.Korea its becoming toxic to some extreme as being portrayed (just my thoughts, not sure if this is a reality). It's because of such social stress that relates to mental issues insisting on non existent relationships or far fetch expectation of a relationship.
And finally arriving at a point in the series where the female lead is being called out by the male lead for being nosy. I just went through episodes watching this ugly ducking turn swan with absolutely no back bone to her characters dive nose deep into someone else's problems when she couldn't even fend for herself. Where she was literally lead by the nose by others into problems and here she is tyring to solve something that is beyond her.I guess this is why its called dramaland because you can get away with just about anything.
On that note: Say Hello to DROP list...LOL....
NOTE: I do advise others to watch the series if your into sappy cheesy and cringe character (FL). There are great points and scenarios here and there through the series that might make you endure it to the end. Also I was brought to this series after watching Moonlight Drawn by Cloud following actor Kwak Deon Youngs drama career.
absolute trash, i mean boring and draggy as hell ?? i really didnt like the female lead either she was appealing…
lmfao....it was a great developing arch until it became too much romance or the insistance of romance because the crown prince didn't know she was a girl....
I was hoping for something like that of Hawarang or Sungkwankang Scandal but gawd this series was overly romanticized and amped up the ass that it became annoying really quick....thanks but not even the face of Bo Gum could save it..or that of Jin Young or Dong Yeon could keep me from barfing a whole load. I mean Yoo Jung and her doey eyes could only do so much...
the story was developing quite interesting until they slap the romance up to the roof. I was not having any of it. The inter quarrels of the nobles to overtake the power of the king was a great subplot. The crown princes struggles, even those of his guard and ex best friend were becoing story archs that had great potentials to explore but up to episode 6 when they amped up the romance it became increasingly distrubing and annoying....
Well enuff of that venting and lets end this almost of a great series to the drop box...
