Review About Is Love
Apparently there is going to be a second season that picks up where the first season ended. That’s just what I read though haven’t even watched the first season yet.

I am dumbfounded by the high ratings for this drama! I tried pushing through for two episodes and caught up on…
I came here straight after watching this first episode. I saw this drama getting recommended on the forums, and since it has a high rating I thought it was a safe choice. However, holy cow, what is wrong with this show? I'm completely dumbfounded. Considering the rating I expected at least some half decent writing, but watching the first episode it appears that you have to turn your brain off in order to enjoy this drama. Reading your comment I'm not the only one finding this hard to watch. Did you manage to pull through? If so, does it get better?

How can a person constantly be strong though? I thought Ji Ah till the end was a very smart character that did…
It's not like her character is bad in general. In fact, she's alright compared to many other FLs in KDramaland. I'm mainly annoyed by the 180 the writers pulled with her character. I watched the first episode and I was just in love. I even thought this was going to be one of my favorite FLs of all time. Her character "degenerating" to this average FL standard was what got me upset. Should have phrased this better I guess.

reading comment section of a popular drama that /just now/ aired its last episode, that's on you, honey. It's…
Spoiler tags are common courtesy, last day of airing or not. After all, the comments won't magically disappear once the initial hype is over. Future viewers coming here in a few months/years will still see them. Just use spoiler tags and everything is fine, it's literally one extra click.

This comment section is an emotional train wreck. I haven't watched a single episode of this show, but it can't be any worse than all this whining.

Thanks btw to those people who ruined the show for everyone else by literally spoiling the whole story without putting any tags.

I understand you but I lowkey feel like most of the events that happened were out of her control.
Sure, most of the stuff happening was completely out of her control. However, it’s hard to believe that the same woman who threw herself off a freaking balcony without batting an eye just to prove her point, would react like the FL does in the later episodes. I just don’t buy it. This is just bad writing, there would’ve been other ways to progress the story and the leads relationship without making the FL a goddamn damsel in distress needing the ML to save her -every single time. The writers completely wasted her character’s potential.

Wtf happened to the FL? In the first few episodes she was a cool, intelligent, strong and fearless woman perfectly able to stand her ground and take care of herself. 6 episodes in she is a screaming mess that needs to be saved. Did they sack the original writer or what happened? How can one fuck up a character's development so badly?

Overall I enjoyed the drama. While the story wasn't particularly innovative or new, (maybe the concept of not being able to forget? I at least have never seen this in a drama), it was still properly written without any major flaws. The OST was also quite nice.

Unfortunately, I have the bad habit of liking the past lovers in dramas more than the new ones. The same was true for this show. Maybe it's because the past lover is almost always a calmer and more mature person compared to the new one and I just happen to prefer this type of FL. Of course a more sunny and active personality better fits the "process of healing", so I understand why the characters are written like this. Just a matter of personal preference.

However, regardless, I thought the paring of Jung Hoon and Ha Jin felt off. There was this weird generation gap. Jung Hoon's character was very mature while Ha Jin had the atmosphere of a young girl. I just didn't buy him falling for her.

Not considering the story, but just based on character traits, Jung Hoon would be better suited as a big brother to Ha Jin, rather than her lover imo.

I felt like I was obliged to write a review for this after seeing the low rating. This drama is one of my first…
I share your feelings, this was also one of my very first Kdramas. It's certainly not the best drama out there, however I've seen much worse with better ratings.
Sure, there are some cliche plot devices, but those exist in almost every Kdrama.
Also, the OST is lovely! I still listen to it from time to time. I think many viewers are just bitter that the pairings didn't match their expectations, this doesn't mean the drama is bad though.

"Marry Me, or Not?"
Yes, basically the two leads start dating while hating each other, trying to make the other one dependent on them just to dump them afterwards.

so, did you end up finishing the drama? I put this one on hold for more than a year as well. Unfortunately it's been so long that I can only remember some bits and pieces, hence I'll have to start all over -.- I hope this time around I'll manage to pull through.

This drama is very muted and raw, with great actors and an amazing OST. Though a fair warning for everyone who is considering watching this: This show is very character centred. Do not expect a gripping plot that keeps you wanting for the next episode. This drama is undoubtedly about the different characters. Their fears and scars, but also their wishes and hopes. How they cope with guilt, anger and sadness. I just want people to know what to expect so they do not end up disliking this drama for what it is not, rather than loving it for what it actually tries to be.

Damn this is like operation proposal i hate the time travel in both shows where they only go back for brief moments…
I don’t know if this makes a difference to you, but the time traveling part is only in the beginning. Once the ML changes the past the story pretty much stays in the present. It‘s not like they are constantly jumping in time to change stuff. IMO the story is very enjoyable so it would be a shame to drop it so soon before it properly takes off.
