Wow, this show is an absolute mess. The story is all over the place, and like others pointed out, the product placements are annoyingly obvious. Still, many people seem to have enjoyed it, I for one did not though.
I just started this drama because someone recommended me online. I came here to a leave a comment about the FL…
If I remember correctly (and I don't remember much since nothing very memorable happens) the FL gets more tolerable as the show progresses. At least in her behavior, the voice over doesn't change obviously. So maybe try watching a few more episodes, who knows you might get something out of this. I mainly dropped this because of the story, or rather the lack thereof.
Seriously, I'm only halfway through and the amount of misunderstandings is just ridiculous. Even for K-Drama standards. It feels like those people are incapable of having a conversation without some kind of information getting distorted beyond compare. Fortunately they managed to clear up those misunderstandings rather quickly up until now, however reading other people's comments I'm really scared for the second half. If it gets even worse my laptop screen will be in jeopardy. I might accidentally trash it while trying to slap some sense into these characters. orz
I have to disagree about the FL. In the flashback about her where she is still not married, she has a completely…
I was also annoyed by her character, however not because of her expressions. She is just a weak character in general, always letting herself get pushed around. Well, to be fair I disliked most of the characters in the show. The ML is annoyingly impulsive and acts without thinking all the time (A trait I absolutely hate in lead characters). The sister is just a naive hypocrite and the stepmother is obviously a complete nutjob, no surprise here. The only characters I rather liked were Soo Ho and Mi Seon, though she didn't really have much meaningful screen time.
This drama is brilliantThe weakest point in it only the FLOMGHer face just on one tuneMisery ... U can't know…
I have to disagree about the FL. In the flashback about her where she is still not married, she has a completely different vibe. This shows that her stiff facial expression is consciously chosen and not the actress lacking skill. Her looking always miserable just reflects the pain and fear she is carrying around with her. Throughout the show she's constantly worrying about the future and the person she loves, so it's understandable that it shows through her expressions. Even when she is smiling the pain and fear is still on her mind. I found this way more believable instead of her looking at ease when her whole world is just one step away from falling apart. That's how I interpreted it.
It started out really good, with an original, suspenseful plot and diverse and interesting characters. Unfortunately, the story took a nosedive towards the end. The last 4-5 episodes felt quite lacking and the finale was anticlimactic. The acting was on point though, especially the FL did a brilliant job.
Honestly I haven’t watched it but I’m checking it out as I’m interested in plot description...when I saw…
Yeah, don't waste your time on this one. I was similarly drawn in by the description, hoping for a second "Touch your Heart". However, as I wrote above, the "story" (there really isn't one) is badly written and the cast is too young making it unrealistic. Plus, the FL has this kind of immature and desperate character which I personally just can't stand.
To be fair, C-Dramas are always a bit of a hit or miss in my opinion. There are some which are very well done. (eg. I recently finished "Find yourself" which I absolutely loved) But sadly there are many more which appear to have been written by gradeschoolers, with none-existent or ridiculously stupid story lines and one dimensional characters.
Is it just me or does the head lawyer at their firm (Byun Young Hee) have an uncanny resemblance with Denny Crane (William Shattner) in Boston Legal? :D They look and act so similar.
I'm only at ep 5, however I'm struggling to keep going. The FL seems very immature and plain annoying so far.…
Dropped at ep. 15. I have no idea how this got an 8.4 Rating. There is no story line, just the two leads going from not knowing each other to loving each other within the first 2-4 eps. After that its just a compilation of fluffy scenes and cliches. Dunno who wrote this crap but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a love sick girl in puberty who was fantasizing about her perfect romance with only ups and no downs. Tl;dr Waste of time.
I'm only at ep 5, however I'm struggling to keep going. The FL seems very immature and plain annoying so far. And for the ML they should have either chosen an older actor or changed his profession. He looks and behaves like a student. Him playing someone who finished medical education (12 to 18 years) and teaching interns/residents is just plain unbelievable/unrealistic.
While I agree with the replies above, I guess everyone has their own way how they enjoy dramas. The ending in a nutshell: It's a happy ending, in terms of romance and also otherwise. The bad guy dies, the innocents are able to clear their names. The leads end up/stay (they are already married) together.
Great show, I feel bad for the Korean police force though. They were portrayed like some kind of banana crew. Not so much the homicide detectives, but the regular officers were made to look like incompetent fools. Imo the writers could have come up with something better to progress the plot.
Really disappointed. IU's acting is awesome, the OST is great and the story is interesting. However, the male lead ruined this one for me. Couldn't warm up to him, throughout the show his acting feels kind of fake. Maybe it's his voice, but he sounds weird. Like, when he's supposed to be angry he doesn't really sound angry to me but more like he's trying (and failing) to sound angry. Anyone else got this impression?
Thanks for the article. Surprisingly, nobody in the comments seems to have mentioned "Something About 1 Percent". Kim Dada is by far my favorite FL in any KDrama I have watched so far.
Can't stand the ML. Made zero sense for the leads to fall for each other. Maybe the ML since he had some issues and was stuck in the past. Hye Jin though didn't have any reason to fall for him.
Shin Hyeok is an awesome character, however it doesn't feel like he really sees Hye Jin in a romantic way. They are a good fit as friends not so much as a couple though. At least that's how I see it. I'm at ep 11 and I'm just constantly skipping stuff. At this rate I might just drop this and be done with it.
Interestingly, a lot of people complain about the soundtrack :DHowever, I find this a bit confusing. If you pay…
You got a point there, I guess in OSN there was more emphasis on the music than in most other dramas. Normally, in dramas (even for those using few songs) the music plays during dialogue and thus it somewhat fades into the background, making it less overbearing. OSN on the other hand heavily relied on the music or rather one song as the mood setter, playing it during longer scenes without speech. Thinking of this I'm pretty glad that I actually liked the song in OSN, otherwise I probably would have been super annoyed by it, like I was in SITR. :D
