I'm sure I missed something, but on ep1 when the lady superintendent sees the phone the girl is holding in the bus is different than the one she was holding at the bus stop (I think they were two different girls, but details... I couldn't tell and just let it goooo) how is she able to get a GPS trace on the phone in the bus just by looking at the model of the phone? Is this explained and I just missed it?

Episode 8 was a thrill ride from beginning to end!! The drama had started getting slow, but I'm back in and can't wait to watch the rest.

The first 11 episodes were sort of laughably bad (whatever I didn't fast-forward through) but because PHJ on my TV is a thing of beauty, I stuck it out. It's finally picking up a bit at the halfway mark, with the story coming back full circle to the 1st scene (? I think?). I'm really only interested in the 2 leads background, development, and skinship (sparse but wow so far). But now at 16 we're dealing with a plot similar to The Lies Within? Like the plot couldn't get more convoluted..

Thank you!! They've said it repeatedly since episode 10 - if anything happens they can't call the police, nor go to a hospital. That's what makes this scene even more heart wrenching, they're all helpless.

I struggle with the missing leads thing, because sangsang does go away for a hefty number of chapters in the novel, and there is so much going on with side stories that NQ isn't always front and center either. But what works in the novel doesn't always work in the drama, and they're learning the hard way.

What I'm really struggling with here is the concept of the 3rd season. The war in the sink hole, the second go at verdant canyon, the 1000 years carving the Buddha mountain in the chessboard, the ship in the sky and the blue dog, the drunkard, Chen Mou, the HaoTian's children, and Ye Su's martyrdom, I have a hard time wrapping my head around all that being faithfully adapted. I hope they don't try, it won't make sense or won't be entertaining, really. I wish they would show NQ ripping out his own heart, though. That'd be interesting.

He's trying to show Haotian the pleasures of the world, including the flesh, in his attempt to humanize her. It doesn't work immediately but she does end up getting pregnant, which in the end does help humanize her.

Yeah. But that's the thing, that domestic scene isn't really the point of the ending, it's the destruction and reforming of the world. But that would make a nonsensical ending in the context of the adaptation, so perhaps in the drama they'll play up the domestic aspect of the ending. The ending also wraps up other couple/key character stories, though to a much lesser extent.

When they come back to Chang"an they got dropped off at her parents house and they seem to go about their life together without them. The novel ends with just the two of them on scene. Kind of strange since her pregnancy is such a big part of the effort to humanize Haotian by the author.

It's really inconsistent. The govt is okay with these web novels on Chinese portals, but not okay with allowing many themes used in this genre on TV and web series to a lesser extent, so you end up with this strange mash up. I want to watch Bloody Romance some day. I tried to watch Novoland Eagle Flag but I didn't enjoy the FL so I dropped it. Power to you for sticking with EN2, I look forward to your thoughts on later episodes, too.

It's evident that he was going for character count, but that's par for the course for web novels. But even if the ending wasn't messy, Chinese censorship still wouldn't have allowed an extremely faithful adaptation, so I'm super curious about what they'll do. EN1 changed the Xia Hou fight scene to fit their need for a cliffhanger, but it still felt right. With this one, I can't imagine a way to make it even close to what happened, unless they just repeat the domestic scene and ignore everything else. I wouldn't be surprised.

Same one. The domestic part is standard fare, but everything else about the new world, the cultivators, etc.... it's kinda wild without the context of NQ being from another world, no? Also Chen Mou dying the way he did, i thought it was pretty anticlimactic, after all the chasing and fighting. I guess I wanted him to go down in flames.

The ending i was incomprehensible and anticlimactic. Btw they like dropped off the twins at her parents' place and they're never heard from again. Haotian is kind of a bitch to the end too lol. I had to push myself to finish the last 15-20 chapters or so. it wasn't the same story by then anymore.

I laughed. I mean, that was a comedy scene, right? they even gave Fuzi a rocket booster sound effect!!
