I don't see it, myself, but others agree with you. I've seen this comment a few times. 🤔
Same here. Personalities and motivations are so different, and IC could not be called wholesome or endearing like this one. I've mostly blocked that drama from memory, but what I recall is a revenge story, an unrelatable love triangle, a kidnapping, a low key psychopath or two, everyone was a misfit, corporate greed beyond survival, and a non-consensual kiss. 🤷♀️
Somehow this drama is reminding me a bit of Misaeng with a very different kind of misfit, and that is an extremely good thing. Here's hoping it remains strong throughout its run. Can't wait to see this whole found family lift each other up.
Regarding the endings of these first two episodes, Junho makes you feel exactly what he's feeling, what an amazing actor. I've come to enjoy him in all his incarnations, but I love his acting most among his well-developed talents. Taepoong called himself an "all-rounder", the character really does fit this guy like a glove. So beyond happy he's back 🥲
+1!! I could have written this comment. What a huge waste of talent. It's neither a good makjang nor a good romcom/melo/romance/whatever…
You can have a mix of things that work, heck that's one of the hallmarks of kdramas. The problem is when none of the elements is done particularly well 🤷♀️ disappointed.
Something about this show just feels... intentional. Or artificial. It's like the writer is ticking off boxes…
+1!!

I feel bad for the actor playing the baddy guy. The hate he is generating, he could be career stereotyped as evil…
He was so cute and loveable in Into the Ring, honestly I'm so happy that was my first time watching him, because now he's risking getting pigeonholed.
At least in The Glory his character was charismatic, here he's just an obsessed a-hole with no personality. Then again, all the antagonists are flat, written terribly in this drama, maybe with the exception of Grace and the brother's wife, the ones with some layers to them.
I am in love with this drama. The angst, the heart-wrenchingly deep emotions, the sacrifices, and, lord help me the, lines!! Bless this writer, they really know how articulate passion.
The last two episodes were particularly well-done, though I have to say all the battle scenes earlier on left me an emotional wreck. They felt so real. Idc what happens going forward, this cinematographer has my full attention. He did an amazing job on The Red Sleeve, and here he bats 2 for 2.
A drama right after my own heart. MBC sageuk in all its glory - the cinematographer is the same one from The Red Sleeve, and that scene in ep1 in the throne room was such a callback, visually, to Yeongjo and San, holy moley.
I'm in love already. And NGM, please, this man is 🔥. Love him so much
She probably feels her dad marrying Won's mom displaced her own, so her petty, vindictive ass has a childhood…
I would imagine that a kid who's lost her mother, seeing her father remarry would still be traumatic / seen as her mother being displaced. Then again I don't have first hand experience with this.
Word on the street is that that may have been Sang Shik with the camera, and the pda by the window was staged, to throw a bone to Hwaran. Here's hoping it's like that, with them controlling the narrative rather than having their relationship weaponized against them, guess we'll find out tomorrow!
KTL finally answered my age old question on what GuWon used to do with his time, before he came back to Korea.…
She probably feels her dad marrying Won's mom displaced her own, so her petty, vindictive ass has a childhood score to settle, though he's collateral damage and not at fault at all.
Não tinha notado esse detalhe e explica muito porque ele ficou apenas parado, sem reação.
Based on the preview, she won't understand, but I don't blame her, that must have felt like a huge betrayal.
I'm looking forward to Gu Won no longer living in a fantasy world where there are no consequences and you can just pretend things aren't the way they are. He's claimed that he will take responsibility for this and for that, but we haven't really seen him do that in a meaningful way.
He's been so in love he didn't think about any of these problems coming from their class differences. And he made her feel so protected and cared for, that she also forgot there are consequences.
I like how she said she makes her own decisions, I hope this is a good learning opportunity for both, and that the script continues to make sense as they work through this conflict!

His face did all the acting. In his last expression when she dropped the plate you can also notice the tiniest shift in his mouth, his eyes, there's worry in his face. But definitely he can't nor he should make a big gesture without thinking of the reasons they were put in that situation, or the consequences, especially to her/her job, since he's about protecting her.
