For me personally, I actually really like how the final battle was written.
Also, I personally, DON'T see TY is weak because he already killed FY physical body, but because FY "Dark Spirits" remains and cannot be destroyed, since FY is a manifestation of everyone's greed, anger, fear, ignorance, and unfulfilled desire, so as long as people carry these emotions, FY can never be completely destroyed. No matter, how much TY use his powers to destroy FY dark spirits/essence, it returns, it is just like a never-ending cycle, and TY has been battling it for DAYS, so it is only natural that his spiritual powers can be depleted by then (since all spiritual powers is not limitless and we can also take into an account that his HPS and Neidan is inside YH still).
This is why I love how the writers have YH be the one to END FY Spirits/Dark Spirits by refining the HPS(inside her) into the "Yang Energy" (which associates to Tian Yao's spiritual dragon powers), since her Ghostly Eulogy she cultivated was based on the "Yin Energy" that ties to FY, and because FY (being Yin) and TY(being "Yang") their powers counters each other, when YH refined it to the "Yang" energy (that associates to TY's spiritual powers), that was the key to truly destroying FY once and for all which Xue Lin did not accomplish. Also, after doing so, YH and TY powers no longer counters each other. Which I am so glad on my end because she no longer need to rely on BXS cloak to be able to touch TY again after this.
While it came at the expense of her giving up her "life", but she managed to come back in the end. I just love how TY was the one to destroy FY physical body, and YH was the one who completely finish FY off on her end (as it shows them to be a POWER CP) that works together to defeat FY (as one!)
Also, in the final battle, when TY return to his Dragon Form was a parallel to the beginning when he was laying there T_T At the beginning TY only have those elves that sacrificed to try and protect him, but now, after coming through a long/adventurous journey, he has met a lot of friends a long the way, one's that will help him and also stand by his side. He no longer have to do it all alone, but he's got friends [It's the whole beginning vs ending parallel that I love]. Not to mention YH and TY love for each other remains strong to the end.
Normally, I don't like the message behind the Male Character originally have black hair turned white, because it is usually the typical "Losing one's power or the life-span is shortened etc"... For TY, the message why his hair becomes white was a symbolic/revelation to his grief in losing YH in the final battle was so beautiful that I can't help but love it even more!!!
Yea. I prefer this happen early too. My only shock was that he did not say a word and just stab her but I guess…
From writing perspective, it is understandable why the writers didn't let TY say anything, because if TY said that he will come back for YH, then YH misunderstanding on TY for not valuing her life would be avoided, and we wouldn't have those developments that we got and where we fell in love with their developments even more.
TY couldn't say anything to YH because the writers have every intention to go down that route of misunderstanding and then build on the character and pairing developments so I personally didn't mind TY for not telling her because the writers have built on their developments that I've come to love in a reasonable way
my opinion on ep17I read so many people dropped this xianxia and some complained why ty has to take out yh's hps…
To be honest, I don't hate it from writing perspectives, because we all got the beautiful developments that we wanted later on where it was build on and how TY earn back YH love and forgiveness to be more understanding.
Besides, I never hated TY for that from writing perspectives, if the writers wants to have TY chase after YH and give him that character developments later on.
Like TY said, "I failed her once, I don't want to fail her again" <- This wouldn't have happened if he didn't fail her once.
In terms of story building and character development, I have already forgiven that scene when TY took back his HPS, because I know for a fact (even when I first watched it) that TY would NOT have taken it back if there was another choice. He already ensured YH will not die before all this, and this was before SY came and kill our favourite little girl elf T_T and take the others away.
So people who drop the drama at episode 17 is really missing out the later developments IMO. Let's hope that from spoilers in other online social media of the later scenes they see, they will resume this drama on their end.
Besides, honestly, if they can finish TTEOTM, I don't understand why they will drop BFTB IMO
In the beginning when he was fighting that Shebishi demon? In the forest? That's because it was a full moon and…
Ofcourse he knows, because TY was the one who combined his Neidan with HPS at the beginning before he toss it away to avoid SY and the mysterious Dark Phantom from getting their hands on it. That's how it ended up inside YH, and if HPS is inside YH, then he knows that she has his Neidan as well because his HPS and Neidan became one.

In Tongluo Village, his spiritual powers hasn't fully recovered yet. That was already explained when he knock YH unconscious and try to get his HPS back.
His spiritual powers starts to recover when he get back his Dragon Bones. That's why he said to the Snake Demon that he can recover the Flame Orb when he get back his Dragon Bones. So at the beginning (before he get back his Dragon Bones), his spiritual powers hasn't recover to be strong enough to fend of YH(and lets not forget that YH also have his HPS+Neidan inside her as well, so that also subconsciously enhance her powers there)
It definitely does... But seeing how hardly any dramas I've come across in MDL have higher than 9, that's why I felt like it is an impossible task in MDL.
Are there any cutscenes of this drama one can watch somewhere? Also I am trying to fill the hole BFTB left...any…
In the Special Episode. It talks on the filming process and BTS and some interviews as well. You need to purchase the express pack to watch that one. That episode shows you how some of those scenes were cut as well and watching them play those scenes makes me realize that there is a few cut scenes.
You can watch it in the Youku app. The express pack isn't expensive as well. If you want to.
If you're lucky someone might upload that whole video online. I would love to download that on my end seeing I enjoyed watching that "special episode" and seeing how the drama come together.

For me personally this drama is a solid 10
8.6, 8.5, 8.6 and now 8.5 again....
Just have to wait for now 😅😅

But I also love that scene in episode 27, and I remember that scene also made me cried at that moment
I also did like the kiss and the moment leading up to their kiss scene in episode 38 as well.
But yeah I feel the same for BFTB being on the top for me as well.
I recommend resuming though since the story gets interesting later on
I am glad Hu Xin is not aired by IQIYI..
