How tf is it possible to have a 2800 hours drama? Use your thinking cap for a minute and you would realized that…
Fine!
It cost me 56 hours or two whole days of my life.
But it certainly felt like 2,800 hours (117 days!). Past episode 40, I understood the pain of being trapped in Itachi's Tsukuyomi.
P.S. In all seriousness, it was my error. Rather than overestimating my ability for mental maths, I should just have pulled out a spreadsheet like the slightly dim normie I am.
>>I rooted for the feisty Duanwu of the first half who dares to love and dares to hate. The passive aggressive Su Muzhe who only dares to cry turns what could have been a terrific story into a crying shame. <<
Now this is funny!
I finished watching 'Rise of the Phoenixes' about a week ago. And that sums up my feelings towards that show.
The drama gods are telling you to go and revise your high ratings.
This show isn't even a 6! Yes, Ni Ni is very pretty and the rest of the cast is talented, but the story is ridiculous, and the producers don't respect the meaning of asking an audience to devote 2,800 hours (117 days!) of their lives to watch them.
Great concept but the writing could have been tighter. . maybe if the production team had given them a tighter time constraint, they'd have spent less time on draggy exposition.
Zero regrets!
She looks like Julia Garner (Ruth from Ozark). It's downright uncanny.
But, yeah, like the others --- hope she goes on to greater things.

I refuse to believe it's just 7.1.
I'll try to watch it.
But I guess I deserve it for reading comments about a show I'm yet to finish.
The vibe I've been getting from this show since the start is that the writers are fans.
From that POV, Yang Mi works in the role. And, frankly, she and Xie Yue are the only ones worth rooting for so far.
I've just spent the past ten minutes laughing in disbelief at just how stupid that particular decision was.
My sunk costs are too high to drop it, but I'm so disappointed! I bet the show gets more generic going forward and ends up sucking!
The entire plot in 38 seconds!
Thanks, king/queen.
Literally zero flaws!
Enjoyable if fairly mediocre. I'd have rated it 6/10 but the ML needs to keep his day job. Shame 'cause the rest of the cast were delightful!
