Cui Jiu has set up the party as a trap to capture the bandit Lu Wen who is known to love his concubine Miantang. So Miantang is the bait. Hot water is a good way to burn your molester -- nephew of the garrison commander -- ouch.

What an opening -- ML definitely skilled w/martial arts and the villain!?! Lovely FL from 'Oh My General' -- finally recognized her and she has finally earned herself a great script. I loved when she first called him 'husband' and he acknowledged 'ai/yes'. He has a great voice. The gossipy neighbors truly gives this drama the humorous touch and the bickering couple next door could be heard that unknowingly makes their marriage look good.ML: Cui Jui/Lord Huaiyang, Cui XaoiFL: Lui Main Tang, Lu Wen's concubine, also Cui Jui's fake wifeThey really display her beauty well. And paired the perfect actors for their roles.

There is more to SiYi that meets the eye.

This is one of the best wedding layouts in all the C-dramas I've watched and also the most heartbreaking. Through his joke to get revenge for he and his friends he announces in public that he likes her and she's the only girl he would ever want to marry. This joke causes the loss of a pending proposal and now a real marriage between the two. After marriage Gu Jushi tells her that they can freely live their own lives and can dissolve their marriage when they meet the one the love! Whaaaaaa!

Laugh-out-Loud! These aunts are a hoot in this episode and dragging a fake Commander from the Security Bureau is going to do the job! Yanzi can only fool 2nd-Uncle-In-Law for a moment, hahaha. And here comes Biozi to the rescue grabbing a 'true' Inspector of the Security Bureau... hahaha off comes the mask. Cane him 30 times!Acting -- Inspector, SB -- 10; 4th Aunt -- 10, giving birth seemed real to me; Shayao & Shen Huan -- 10 developing fond memories together.

There goes my favorite person, Shayao, her simple act of love for a conflicted son and mother brought tears to my eyes again. Motherly love wins! Qin Erqui is a legally divorced woman from, 3rd Uncle but she is still the mother of 2 Hua children, Hua Zhi wisdom in this tangled web amazed me. Acting for this episode goes to: Shayao -- 10; 2nd Madam -- 10; and the famous kiss on the forehead gets my 10 -- this is clean Chinese drama that I love! Thank you!

When I first watched this episode, this is one of the most sincere and loved characters that was lost to the Hua family. Her short scene with Huazhi was deeply moving. Acting: Grandmother Hua -- 10; Huazhi -- 10 Yanzi, 'My surname is Gu, Gu Yanzi.... they were all me' Huazhi, '...I won't forget those 10 beatings, I'm a very vindictive person. You better be nicer to me in the future, otherwise I'll take revenge.' Enter Shayao '... brother I thought you didn't want me and Sister Huazhi anymore' such a touching scene... love Shayao!

Whoa, I'm back to catch up on my reviews (10/21/24). Loving my time during my rewatch!'... Today, your compassion is broad and mighty. I am truly grateful for that. Thank you your grace.' HuaZhi -- Her Empress Dowager shows up at her best friend's funeral... whaaa/I cried. I've been moved to tears and laughter. Sorry that this character's role ended in death. I have to say that the direction plot in losing her in death was deep. And to just see how the two families lives intertwined through these two powerful characters.Acting in this episode goes to -- Shen Qi -- 10 -- Shayao -- 10 and Shen Huan -- 10 -- I love how Shen Qi is the first to pay honor to the Hua families departed love one and how Shen Huan comforts Shayao during the time her brother, Yanxi is missing in action, and Shayao's farewell to a beloved character. Goodbye Grandmother.

I'm back... finally finding time to re-watch AYTO... I'm really enjoying the OST...Cui & Maitang have a disagreement over Maitang wanting to join the county's porcelain guild, it is only managed by men (women not allowed). Maitang manages to get Lord Haigtang to pay her for the porcelain tank her kiln made so that the guild will accept her, but they still refuse accepting her. The tank ends up in Cui's home and while visiting, Cui's mom likes the porcelain tank w/the koi fishes; fiance' offers her family's antique porcelain tank, Cui refuses and says he'll send over the porcelain tank Maitang's kiln made to his main home. Oh what a tangle web of a mess this episode weaved... Hahaha you have to follow it to get the gist of underlining laughter... hahahaha.They are falling in love, it shows in the small moments when they are together. Her calligraphy is ugly (he thinks in his mind) and his skill in playing 'Go' is average (she thinks in her mind). He's still trying to draw out Lu Wen to capture him by using Maitang/Lu Wen's favorite concubine. She's slowly realizing things from her past. And he is big time playing the fake husband, as she is unraveling what is their relation? Really?

I loved the opening storyline -- young boy traveling the seas with grandfather, and all, and during storm he does this heroic thing that you realize this kid is special... then to find out the young boy is a girl... and I love her relationship with her grandfather & old Zhoug. ----- she meets her betroth, she meets MLActing: Young Hua Zhi 10--- Acting: Supporting Cast mix -- Grandfather, Old Zhoug 10----Music: Opening & Ending very catchy 10 ------Storyline: 10 ----Production: 10Quote: she asks Yanxi if he traveled through a certain location and his response is that she's a girl that should be at home and she has traveled the world her response is "I was not born to hide behind the door' --- So much going on in Ep1 -- new Leader of the Bureau of Guard and Hua family removed from power and society.
