I haven't read the book but I think there is nothing wrong with the Guy using his GF's car to drive her around..…
I've read the novel and noted the changes Gu Man made in the drama which I think is better (since I prefer the drama's version of meet the parents). I also do not feel there's anything wrong with YT using JJ's car. He only used it to fetch her because he stays so near his workplace and doesn't require transport at all when JJ is not around.
Of course, conveniently they can also put in product placement (Mercedes Benz SUV).
Anyway, if YT is planning for the future, based on his characteristics in the drama, it would go towards expenditure worth spending on or necessity (like the wardrobe he modified).
