Maybe we'll actually see kissing and not dumb shots cut off right before it. :)
Exactly! That was my biggest criticism! The actor who played Kurosawa had dirty bar sex in Alice in Wonderland on Netflix, but he can't kiss a guy in Cherry Magic??? Total BS.
This is giving me L Word vibes, but with gay guys. I love some messy, sexual politics-ey, mean girls gay drama! Looking forward to this one! I hope there is lots of backstabbing, screaming fights, I want mean, trashy, catty, over-the-top drama, mama!
It's like it's not even the same show. If they could just cut the first 3 eps, and start with ep 4, I would have a much higher opinion of this series. The beginning was *terrible*. But it has gotten so much better. But still, it's hard to like Mangkorn and Yai because they were both such complete assholes at the start. Redo???
I feel like this show is like two completely different shows, today's episode compared to the first few, so different. Is there a way to go from I hate you, I'm drugging you, I'm staging your rape on camera, to what we had today, which is vulnerability, heartbreak etc...? Maybe there is a way to make that transition, but this series has definitely not done it well. It definitely seems like they needed more time to tell the story than eight episodes. I will say that this episode, if it had been the first episode in the series, or maybe the second, would have set the stage for a much more compelling narrative. As it is it's just a hot mess. That being said, the scene between Yai and Nine at the restaurant was beautiful, Bank can sing so well, his voice is beautiful, and I just wish that this show had delivered more on its potential. Also, I wish they had just cut the whole rape thing, it was disgusting
You clearly don't understand the show and the character of Akk. And you're under every other comment spilling…
I commented about this on 3 other posts (I counted, feel free to check, my other comments were in unrelated topics) before I realized I was repeating myself, so I made it my own post. Also, I think I understand Akk very well. He himself said he was a bad person. He scared and could have seriously injured others with his actions. As Aye said, he can choose to start fresh and do better, but that doesn't erase what he did. Just because he is conflicted, wants to make his parents proud and live up to the role of head boy, it doesn't change the fact the he did bad things, and so, during that time, he was a bad person. Aye encouraged him to own up to what he did and try to make it right and he didn't, until Thua forced him to admit it. He needs to take responsibility for what he did and try to repair the damage he caused. If you think there is some nuance to his character that I missed, feel free to share your thinking. Keep it civil or I will just block you and move on. Remember, at the end of the day, it's a tv series.
I mean, Akk almost murdered some people, so... Is that also unforgiveable?
Right, he sent a truck down the road into a crowd of people, but he wasn't "trying" to kill anyone. Friend, you sound like you are excusing what he did. Just so we are clear, you are saying that telling everyone at school that two people are covering up acts of vandalism and violence because they are a couple (justification for why they are covering for each other) is somehow worse than the acts of vandalism and violence themselves? That's messed up.
I mean, they all just watched Thua get bullied for being gay and they were secretly also gay the whole time and didn't really do anything about it, so I think this falls under the same clause as people who out homophobic politicians. They are being hypocrites, so they deserve to be outed. I say this as a proud queer person. If someone in charge is secretly queer but doesn't support other queers, they deserve to be outed, for their hypocrisy.
Also, Akk literally tried to murder those gay kids (remember when he put the truck in neutral and they almost got run over, he pushed the pot off the wall and it almost hit one of them, etc...).
If you think attempted murder is forgivable but outing people who are propping up an anti-gay system is not, you are probably very young and maybe need to grow up a little.
