I Loved Scarlet Heart (2011). For me it was a masterpiece. It was my Nr.1 favorite drama until TU came out. I couldn't get into the k version one, for me it was a total wreck and the female lead was almost infuriating with her poor acting skills compared with Cecilia Liu's phenomenal job . So a team of hot idols cannot make a good drama even if there is a good plot behind, if they don't have what it takes.

I personally fell in love with Xiao Zhan not for his handsomeness (he is hella hot) but because of his amazing acting skills. I wasn't so invested into an actor's talent since Hu Ge in NIF. Xiao Zhan is way beyond. The Untamed is not a drama that gained fame because of his hot actors. Whoever watched it without bias can say this out loud. The hot cast was just a plus. A bonus.

So well rounded characters, the villains are villains from head to toe, they actually have depth, the good people are great people. You can feel the love, not only between the good characters but also can't help but empathize with villains somehow. Was long time since I wasn't so engrossed into a drama like I am on this one. The more I watch the more I'm hungry to see. Highly recommend it. Oh, episode 16, the fight between father and daughter, a total delight! I love this!
Ok, watching 1st episode went like this: 5 minutes in and I'm like woah, the CGI is total CRINGE! Ten minutes in, this drama is hella hilarious, Xu Kai is awesome in cross dressing. 20 minues in, woah, amazing photography, the background is awesome. 30 minutes in, OK WTF is this an Ashes of Love reunion? In the end somehow got me convinced to watch the second episode. A hilarious mess.
These was such satisfactory episodes, I felt soooo good to see the smug face of Lu Yuan going down the dust. The pace was amazing, you could almost feel the tension of the drama. Can't wait for tomorrow's episodes. Really curious to see how Kang's gonna save his brother from the mess.
