I really do think there’s some cool ideas being explored, it’s an attempt! I think if it pushed more into the duality of roles and fleshed out the rules of time travel (or the potential of as it’s been hinted at) it would help ease some of the confusion. Or used more visual clues to help determine the different times and worlds.
I genuinely can’t predict where this will go. Sure it has its occasional flaws (the transition into modern day could’ve transitioned with smoother execution). So far, I really like how it’s fleshing out its characters and exploring the themes of fate and reincarnation. I went in with no expectations and now I’ve somehow become so invested in seeing how this story goes!
I'm not sure why he got all twitterpated (side effect of the dream thing? did he fall in love with her?). I sort…
She committed suicide at this tree which is linked to bringing the nation good luck. There’s clearly mystical powers in that tree because it started to glow when she died at the tree.
Because of this act, it reversed the luck and so the nation got invaded and 100,000 people died in battle/ defending their country or from poverty. Hence why she has to help 100,000- that’s the punishment she was given instead of going to hell/ facing extinction because the latter was deemed too easy.
Weol Ju at first did not agree. However alongside the din above, there is another part to this which has yet to be revealed. It must’ve been HUGE as you can see her emotional response and that persuaded her to accept her punishment.
At first I thought it must be linked to her mother or the crown prince. Heck it might have Gwi linked in snugly. BUT you raise a good point about the curse and maybe that has a huge catastrophic effect. (It’s a theme of human decisions leading to big consequences and sometimes tragic)
I expect things to be revealed later on as the story progresses do we shall see :)
It’s a cute watch. Lovely to see the actors for Grim Reaper x Sunny in a drama. One of those to watch when you’re bored or looking for something straight after an intense thriller watch.
I thought the first ep did a decent job setting the scene and tone for the story. I wasn’t massively blown away but very much liked it. Then it was the second ep that really hooked me.. This looks like it’s going to be a promising series, balancing the comedy with heartfelt stories. That with a comedic trio who’s really coming up to be a great team.

Yeah some of it is a bit vague and perhaps will become clearer as they show a bit more of her story. Although it looks like there’s more to her sins that’s led her into this punishment. It’s either linked to her mother or the crown prince so it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out!
I'm kinda confused about the origin story? What did Weol Ju do to the prince and why did her house burn down (did…
She found a way to stop the spirits tormenting the crown prince’s dreams. However it seems the cost was his natural state of being. He seemed to be on a daze half the time/ acting like a child.
When the Queen’s royal servant investigated outside, they heard the village gossiping and creating rumours how it was part of Weol Ju’s plans to ‘seduce’ the crown prince.
Hence why it led to them wanting to kill her. However her mother being a overdue shaman foresaw this and died in her place. If it wasn’t the Queen’s, certainly a royal decision to kill her.
Thinking about whose heart Jung Sa Bin has. Is it transplanted from Gong Ji Chul? Picking up from the death row clues. That would fulfil GJC’s desire to find her a heart in the 80s!

Gonna be one helluva refreshing ride!
