Man, the last bunch of episodes was unnecessarily heavy and angsty for no apparent reason? FL really got annoyingly stuffy and I rarely say this about any FL before. Hard for me to finish watching
I'll give Zhuang Xu some merit that at least he is not as shameless, infuriating, hair pulling annoying as Kim…
Well, it was enjoyable and the main leads was cute but the screentime with SML really did take away some. IMO tropey, nothing scream refreshing but its a fun romantic, comedy to kill time. Not the serious heartthrobing romance like this drama. Maybe thats why SML character is so over the top. Lol If you like Jung So Min from Alchemy of Souls though (or just to see how bad SML is), can give it a try. XD
I'm thinking back to how SML gave her interest when she gave him money for the surgery, it's a very ugly thing…
That is true. Its always been about his pride. If he had accepted her then, he was afraid people will say hes dating someone above his station and if he had outright rejected her, its like he lost out on one of the best girl out there (and he knows FL is probably one of the best thing that could ever happen to him, whether its her personality, looks, background or money). Thats why hes always been silent and ambiguous, stringing her along waiting for some stupid opportunity to prove his worth to make himself look better accepting her. But I doubt he will ever be satisfied however way it went because hes too self-conscious and self-centered. He ends up gaslighting and shifting blames on to people who made him feel inferior.
Honestly if he was smarter and more scheming, he would've kept all those negative comments he says to her to himself and acted better towards her and protect her when she needed, then he might've had a chance. Too bad he is so insensitive to the fact that no girl, even someone who likes you, can stand being with a toxic man. Its like every time he opens his mouth to talk to her, we see the (-💔) minus sign indicating decreasing relationship points (like in the sims game) on XG's head. 😂 Hes the best example of how to get a girl to stop liking you. lmao
it's kind of triggering everytime Zhang Xu shows up on my screen. he reminds me of these participants from dating…
I'll give Zhuang Xu some merit that at least he is not as shameless, infuriating, hair pulling annoying as Kim U Ju (FL's ex fiance) in "Would You Marry Me?" that I finished watching recently. That character might've been one of the worst SML in all of dramaland 😂
Damn, I understand and don't understand this at the same time. Never seen a story timeline more confusing than this. I should continue watching, hopefully it will make more sense to me later on
Very proud of our FL for standing up to him and explaining all the ways his excuses are wrong 😡
Totally. Even if they had gotten together, they wouldve broken up due to his inferiority complex anyway. Love how she sums it up that she would end up with Yu Sen no matter what. It was never an option; girl knows what type of man she wants and definitely not another type like her dad.
I love the song sung by Zhuang Xu at karaoke, original by Jeff Chang called Faith 信仰 if anyone wondering. Man, he totally butchered the meaning of the song though. The song is touching but ZX is not, so I don't pity him. Can't believe he still push the blame on Xi Guang calling her unfair even after all that.🤦♀️ Dude was seriously self-centered and now finally got his reality-check.
This drama almost went unnotice on my radar for some reason. The one and only time I remember watching a drama with this actress was LOCH 2014. The trailer looks interesting and me sensing great chemistry with the cp. It seems she often does well in older female/younger male romance. I will definitely be giving it a try.
It's his first love. His family didn't like the mistress, so they basically pulled them apart based on what was…
From what I gather, FL's dad told FL he won't remarried as he is just taking care of a terminally ill friend and theres nothing between them. But as FL pointed out, what kind of friend is terminally ill for so long and hasn't hit the coffin yet? lol Based on the most recent episode, this sick friend of his don't seem ill at all and is just scheming no good with her daughter to take advantage of FL's dad. I wouldn't be surprised if she was the one who purposely cause the misunderstanding leading to her parents' divorce.
The actor who plays Jiang Rui you guys probably recognize him as the child actor in many previous dramas, most notably Joy of Life. Crazy hes so tall now and developing such a sharp look. I think we can look forward to him being in his own drama in the next few years
Jin Zhao says: "The sun shines by day, and the moon by night. The sun and moon alternate, never to meet again.
Mu Mu answers: "Even natural laws are never absolute. The sun shines by day, and the moon by night. The sun and moon shines together. Zhao Zhao Mu Mu will never be apart. "
I think that just became one of the most romantic symbolisms, the most beautiful and touching lines said in any modern-day dramas 🥹
Both Esther and He Yu did such a fantastic job. The emotional chemistry was off the chart
My thoughts after completing this drama; FL is the unluckiest AND the luckiest woman alive. Like God wills it so she can only play the villain by giving her the worst upbringing and situation anybody can have but then she encounters men in her life that are willing to do anything to help her get out of trouble. When she finally found real happiness, the most unlucky thing happen AGAIN that put her back on the dark path but she can never be caught or get in trouble because well her good luck strikes once more right? Her life just keeps going in circle no matter how hard she wants to break free from it or how many people she sacrifice, that its almost ridiculous.
According to Jin Zhao, Jiang Mu was very young at that time that she can't bear the truth of his situation. He…
Lol shes not that young, shes 19/20 years old, she was of age and made the decision to flew over to Thailand to pursue him. He didn't date an underage teenager. She may act cute but was a woman capable of making her own decision regarding her future.
I'm more on MuMu side cuz I think JinZhao really underestimated MM's love for him. It seem like its been a habit of his since he was a boy to ghost her and hide things from her whenever he encounter problems yet MM has been nothing but straight and honest with him. She was willing to get on her knees to save his life and he is just too prideful to tell her the truth. Its also understandable he wants to always be that dependable man for her but this is lacking trust and disrespectful toward her feelings. I imagine he want to be with her, with marriage in mind, but think about it, no matter how healthy you are there are bound to be instances in your life where you are weak and ill, bound to get old and unforeseen accidents happen - it is Impossible, I say impossible to always be the strong one. Is he gonna separate/divorce her "for her own good" every single time an obstacle appear? More than anyone, she deserves to know the truth and make the ultimate decision for herself, that way theres no regret.
Honestly, the "I'm breaking up for your own good" plot is such an old old trope in this day and age. When Jin Zhao opened up to Mu Mu about his undercover mission, I thought we had gotten past that its no good to lie to your loved ones in the name of you protecting them part. Now hes reverting back, even ghosting her, and making arbitrary decisions for her without being honest...? 🤦♀️ Wish he had remembered Mu Mu's mom advice about not running away from his problems as the man...
A little disappointed with JZ character or this development, maybe a misunderstanding or the presumption that he was dead/missing wouldve been better for the separation arc... Everything about this drama was nice until the breakup. This angstiness is so unnecessary. Now I think I will hold until the rest of the episodes comes out to finish it all at once.
Just a few random thoughts... Poor He Yu be sweating like crazy in some of those emotional scenes (Esther must be sweating too but they did well hiding hers). Hot and humid Thailand 🥵. He must've loved filming the scene where he gets to dip in the ocean💦lol
Man, just so much sweetness before the storm but I think its done right. Most rl couples in a relationship does often tease, flirt, kiss and do naughty things with each other🫣🥰. I'm glad they didn't shy away from that.
I hope there are no misunderstandings in their upcoming separation
Its crazy but Maeda Gordon totally give me Julian Cheung's vibe. Its like hes Julian Cheung younger version. They are very similar, and this is the first time I see him in a drama. I will definitely pay more attention to all his upcoming dramas

Honestly, still nothing beats the Monkey King in sheer number of adaptions on a yearly basis. 😂

But whoever named this drama Glory needs a vacation. Is there no other English title? Its so overused by now.
